This is a 9-minute grounding meditation that gives us the opportunity to go deep within. In the process of going quiet, we can experience the places we hold tension in our bodies and in our minds. That stillness allows space to inquire about the origin of that strain, and to discover where and how we can unwind it. ⁣

Welcome to yourself,

To this moment.

I'm Janet Stone here to guide the opportunity to go within.

Have a seat or rest back,

Setting yourself in a position where you can feel the surface below you supporting,

Holding,

Grounding.

The sensation of the ground below you,

Feel its strength up through the bones.

This renewed sense of being held,

Supported.

The eyes close.

The mind drops down toward the earth,

As if the mind can travel down through the body toward the sit bones,

Toward the feet.

Just as if we are sitting in dirt on the earth,

On the ground,

Maybe you are.

These surfaces below us represent this earth,

The billions of years of evolution.

The evolution that has made it possible for this body to be here.

This body that holds your hopes,

Your dreams,

Your sorrows,

Your loves and losses.

We are supported by these billions of years of evolution in every cell of our being.

So in this moment we feel that support,

Rest into that support.

Our frontal lobe micromanager clocks out,

Takes a moment as we melt into body sensation through the surfaces of our own skin,

To our blood flow,

Our fascia,

Muscles,

Bones,

To our internal organs,

All simultaneously alert and yet at ease.

Jaw softens,

Tops of the shoulders soften,

Elbow tips feel as if they hang heavy toward the earth.

Scabula soften.

Breath its natural rhythm in and out.

The mind takes us off into some past or potential future.

Drop that attention back into the sensation of our being,

Our body.

Allowing the opportunity for yourself to be,

To pause from all of the doing,

Figuring and sorting and controlling.

The deeper exhale melts into full presence nowhere else to be but here.

You can trust that you're important enough,

Loved enough,

Gotten enough,

You've given enough,

You can just open space for being.

Deep sense of ease in every cell,

A sense of trust.

Not so much in some external circumstance,

But in life itself.

The power in the force of the ground below opening the eyes,

Both hands placed across the heart palms and taking a deep breath into the space,

Into your hands.

May you as you move into the rest of your day,

Your evening,

May you feel supported.

May you feel that intelligence of time,

Those who came before,

The process that has been underway for billions of years for you to be here.

Namaste.
