Today what we're going to unpack is this illusion,
Which is why I want to bring it to the light for you and see if you live in this in any way,
Shape or form,
Of getting yourself innocently entangled in other people's energy that isn't yours.
Sometimes when we're young,
And I know I experienced this too,
So notice what we're speaking about today with a lot of compassion and non-judgment as best as you can.
So when we're young,
If we don't get the proper attention that we deserve,
That we desire,
A healthy balance of attention,
What we can do is innocently,
Our unconscious mind,
Our patterns,
Our defense mechanisms,
Attempt to get attention in a variety of ways.
So I've been seeing this recently where something that might not even be your issue,
Might not even be your drama,
You find a way to kind of put yourself in there innocently.
You know,
You're not doing it consciously,
You didn't get enough attention,
Especially if you're someone like me,
If you're a sensitive soul,
A light worker,
A change maker,
And that part of you wasn't seen,
That part of you wasn't given proper attention,
Or any parts of you.
Are you somebody that's talking about the neighbor's issues,
Or involved in so-and-so's drama,
Or having extreme reactions to somebody else's situation that isn't yours?
We do that,
We can do that for attention,
Right?
To try to,
Oh,
Wow,
I have this thing happening in my life,
I have this huge thing,
So notice and pay attention.
It is falling short of true attention.
How do we heal,
Is we notice,
Oh,
Wow,
This is embarrassing,
But I get it,
Oh,
I was doing that thing.
We heal by noticing that's not working,
That's not actually,
Like the potion isn't actually sinking into the body,
It's like holding a bottle of medicine and looking at it,
I'm not actually taking it,
It's like,
Oh,
I'm doing this thing to try to get this attention,
But it's not sinking in.
So I'll say this when I'm walking the dog,
I'll notice a pattern,
You know what,
James,
That's not actually giving you the result you want,
You want attention,
You want love,
You want validation for the light worker that you are,
The sensitive soul that you are,
For the extraordinary being that you are,
Is that working?
Take a moment to think about that right now,
Is that working,
No,
Okay,
Well,
What could be from my adult perspective,
Maybe I don't know it yet,
But another way,
What's another way?
So,
Oh,
Maybe I'm looking for attention from myself,
Maybe I need to learn a little about self-love and take time to give myself attention,
What does that look like,
What could that look like?
What lights you up,
Are you feeling something you need to journal or share or express?
Giving yourself attention so you don't need to do all sorts of crazy whack whack things innocently to get it,
So I'm gonna invite you into a little journaling,
Where in my life,
May I be involved in other people's stories or lives internally,
Externally,
Or creating unnecessary drama to get attention,
Again,
You need to look at this with compassion of like,
I'm not doing this consciously,
But now I can bring my attention to what is unconscious,
Look at it from an adult lens,
Is this actually giving me that depth of,
I took the medicine,
When I drank it,
It's in me,
That depth of relief that I'm looking for,
And if it isn't,
Can we forgive ourselves and open to,
Okay,
How can I actually feel deeply attended to?
And you're in the,
You don't even need to answer the question,
It's like a pondering,
It's I'm opening up to like,
The possibility that there's another way,
There's another way to get true internal attention,
It might be a meditation practice,
Your answer will be different,
I'm giving you a self-love option,
Because that's something I teach,
Okay?
I am gonna live my truth and my purpose,
Please tread gently with yourself,
When we see these things and we bring them to light,
We can be like,
Oof,
I was living like that,
And then we have to have the compassion to say,
Well,
Of course you were,
Sweet one,
It's just how you were trained,
But you don't have to live like that anymore,
All right,
All my love.
