Feeling Your Way Back Home
by Jamie Wozny
In this meditation, Jamie leads you back home to your deeper spiritual center by using your feeling sense. We can use our feelings, not the content of our thinking as a guide back to our clear, peaceful, and wise inner home base. Instead of listening to what our thinking says, we use this meditation as a chance to get a feel of our thinking. Our wise center has a calm feel: those thoughts we can trust. When we are farther away from our home base, we feel off. Here we practice wiggling our way through.

And just let yourself settle in as best as you can,
Get cozy,
Music gone,
Eyes rested.
This is your time to just start to get familiar with a whole new world inside of yourself.
It exists,
You are not making it up.
It's like we've just bought a new house and we haven't gotten familiar with the rooms yet and so we're kind of just peeking in the different rooms and exploring and getting acquainted.
So this is our exploration.
In meditation with me,
I never want you guys to try to get somewhere or have this,
Have a specific result.
This is a,
Just kind of have a little look around in there and see what is seeing and what is it.
Beautiful so,
As always just begin by letting your awareness make its way into the room where you are,
Just this.
There you go and just let your awareness make its way to the connection between your physical body and the couch,
The chair,
The bed,
The yoga mat.
And see if you can,
Maybe it's just a little bit,
But give yourself permission to slow down.
We get the good stuff when we slow down.
We speed up because we think that's what we need,
But that's of the ego,
That's of the mind.
Nothing comes from that ever.
No matter how difficult our outer circumstances,
Slowing down internally always helps us get clear,
Wise.
Worry doesn't help us ever.
Wisdom does.
Common sense does.
Just start to let your breath gently make its way down into the belly.
Let the belly expand,
Ribs,
Chest.
Just making your way into this restful place from the day.
Every breath brings you more and more present.
It's just me in this room and it's just my body on this cushion and it's just my breath coming in and out of my body.
And I'm slowing down because I know that's the safest place to be.
And I'm being kind and patient with myself because I know that life is filled with normal learning curves.
I am where I am.
Let your breath just take you a little bit deeper.
Let that physical body really settle in.
Let that face begin to really relax and noticing if there's any tension in your eyes and just let your eyes get floaty,
Easy,
Absolutely nothing to look at,
Nothing to see.
Resting the corners of your lips,
Nothing to talk about,
Nothing to hear,
Nothing to analyze as that just takes us in circles.
We're letting ourselves travel a little bit deeper to a different room in the house,
Just exploring,
Seeing what we see.
Maybe we catch glimpses and then tomorrow we catch some more glimpses.
We have an easiness about us,
A softness about our journey inward tonight.
Letting those shoulders relax the chest,
The belly unravels just a bit,
Hips spilling into the cushions,
Hands and feet taking some time off from needing to do anything.
And you kind of find your way floating into your own zone,
Selfishly peaceful,
Selfishly loving you,
Selfishly feeling what you need to feel or just taking space for yourself.
And you begin to journey a little bit deeper within as you sense perhaps the opposite of the outer world.
As this part can't be grasped by the brain so we leave that behind right now.
We let it come and go in the background but it becomes less appealing to us.
As we perhaps notice it's not what it's saying,
It's how it feels.
If it doesn't feel good then I don't need to trust it,
It's just an option.
The universe gives us lots of low level and high level thought options.
And if we like the way they feel we go,
Oh I want to ride that train.
And if not we don't deny or suppress,
We don't have to add to or believe or continue on.
We ride the experience,
It lets us go and then new energy comes.
And we know we can trust it by the way that it feels,
Oh that's me.
We know,
We know me,
Me has a feeling,
Real me.
We can't force our way back to her,
We can't force our way back to him.
But it is what is left when we begin to sense and notice and feel what we are not by the way that it feels.
And so you settle a little bit deeper within,
A specific place to get to,
Kind of ebbing and flowing and hanging out.
Could I just let this be wrong or imperfect right now?
As even meditation teachers have no clue how to meditate,
We all just explore,
See,
Glimpse,
Find ourselves again in sloppy,
Messy,
Imperfect ways.
And so I want you to see if on your own for just a bit you can settle into your awareness,
That which looks through your eyes,
Listens through your ears,
Sees,
Knows,
Is aware.
And as you're cozy in this space,
Just kind of hanging out,
See if you can just start to notice how things feel.
And as you notice,
They gently melt away,
That which is not you.
And as they go,
A new feeling takes its place.
This isn't something you can think your way through,
You just have to feel it,
Play with it.
Wow,
I thought that was me my whole life.
It's just a low level thought.
I've had on repeat.
And I'm curious what's on the horizon past that.
I can always trust that deeper feeling to let me know what to trust and what not to trust.
As I journey within and get a feel for myself.
That fearcon'.
I mean,
If you travel into the mind,
That's normal and fine.
We just journey a little bit back,
Deeper within.
We're not trying to stop the thinking.
The thinking is never to be stopped or controlled.
We can have peace and love and compassion with the thinking.
But somewhere along the line it gets quieter and less important than the other.
And so we stop expending our energy on controlling it.
And we just begin to understand it.
We move to a higher level of understanding,
Seeing,
Living,
Higher level of consciousness.
And we feel our way through.
It comes,
I'm safe,
I'm not my thinking.
I'm my true nature who experiences it.
And I just didn't know that what it says isn't me,
It's what was passed down to me.
And thank God I have wisdom that tells me if I don't need to buy into it or not by the way that it feels.
So let yourself rest and bounce around in the house and get a feel.
Take a look within.
Don't need to make sense of or do it right.
It's not what it says,
It's how it feels.
And just dismiss that which doesn't feel like you.
And whether you felt you or not in years,
You know when you feel like yourself.
And that might seem radical to your brain.
But just start to little bit by little bit let go of that which doesn't feel like you.
Let it float away and see what rises to the surface.
And let it float away and see what rises to the surface.
And let it float away and see what rises to the surface.
And let it float away and see what rises to the surface.
And let it float away and see what rises to the surface.
And let it float away and see what rises to the surface.
And let it float away and see what rises to the surface.
And let it float away and see what rises to the surface.
And let it float away and see what rises to the surface.
Just let yourself not need to get anywhere.
Let everything slow down.
Simply an exploration.
There's a lot of freedom there.
Being kind with yourself as you learn.
As we aren't taught how the world works.
We aren't taught spiritual ways.
We do the best that we can,
Given what we know.
And then we wake up gradually and do the best that we can,
Given what we know.
And then we start programming the subconscious mind now that as we go throughout our evening or our week,
We become aware of the way thoughts feel,
Not what they say,
Not the contents.
As that is our guiding light to what we can trust,
What we can dismiss,
What we can allow to move through us without adding pain or suffering to.
We play with this,
We see,
And then we go,
Oh wow,
Okay,
That.
Got it.
No rush about any of it.
We see when we see.
We slow down,
We keep our minds open.
Welcoming yourself into this moment.
Into this room.
Noticing that connection between your physical body and the Christians underneath and behind you.
And noticing the space that your body occupies in space.
Really taking your time with us.
Our brain wants to rush and hurry up and speed,
But to slow down and notice your body.
Notice your feet,
Calves and your knees.
Your quads,
Your hips.
Notice your belly and your back and your chest.
Your arms and your hands.
Your body.
And the energy field that expands outside of your body to feet.
Perhaps you feel an alive.
Life.
Existence.
And you start to take some deeper breaths back into your being,
Nice and easy.
Nice and slow.
And as you feel ready,
Allowing the breath to transition into some physical stretching or moving of the body.
And really taking your time coming back and transitioning into the evening.
You can open up your eyes to the room or to the screen whenever you're ready.

One of the most beautiful, loving and compassionate meditations I've done here. If I could, I'd give it more stars. π
