Welcome to this Activating Your Gratitude meditation.
Today we are going to practice anchoring into one of the highest frequencies available to us.
We can use the energy of gratitude to heal our bodies,
We can use the energy of gratitude to bring in prosperity,
Abundance,
Love,
And so much more.
The thing that I would like to share as we start to take a few deep breaths together and just soften your body,
Let this be the start of the meditation,
Just breathing into the whole body,
Long,
Slow exhales,
Starting to stretch,
My dog just did the same thing in the background,
Just a deep breath and settling in here together.
As we tune in to the energy of gratitude itself,
To welcome the wisdom that is available for us today.
And I think the most important part here about gratitude is that it can be authentic gratitude.
And that's what I want you to practice.
And I know for me,
I was really resistant to practicing gratitude for a long time because it felt hard.
It felt inauthentic,
It didn't feel real.
And that's because you can use it against yourself.
But here we're practicing gratitude 2.
0.
And we're letting go of needing to be right.
We're letting go of should,
Have to,
Correct.
We're letting go of toxic positivity.
And we're allowing ourselves to meet the moment as that is where the healing occurs.
So what do I mean by this?
I would love to open you to this concept that multiple things can exist at once.
So we don't have to wait until we are perfect,
Or so happy or so blessed out or totally healed to feel grateful.
I just returned from a trip recently and keep breathing,
Keep softening the body as you listen.
And people ask,
How was your trip?
And I noticed,
Oh my gosh,
I'm supposed to sound grateful.
I'm supposed to say,
Oh,
This was the most amazing thing ever.
And I had the best time and I was so relaxed.
Because that's what you say after you go on a trip,
Right?
And I am authentic about it.
And I said,
You know what,
It was all the things.
It was awesome and love filled and joy filled and epic and bliss and hard and challenging and tiring and required me to find strength I didn't want to.
And so I'm bringing that in.
And asking you now into this activation of,
Could I open to the possibility that multiple things can exist at once?
That we don't have to wait to bring gratitude in.
We can feel angry at our partner and grateful for the hot water that we have that day.
Because we didn't grow up with our shower giving us good hot water when we were little.
So we don't have to wait for gratitude.
We can bring it in now and we can bring it in authentically.
So take a deep breath,
Soften the body.
What do I mean by that?
Authentic gratitude is really slowing down and asking yourself,
What was my favorite part of today?
What was my favorite part of the trip?
What was my favorite part of that island?
And really being honest with yourself about your favorite part.
Now this is where the guilt comes in.
Say you're married,
Say you have a child,
Say you have a house.
Well,
I'm supposed to be grateful for my partner and my child and my home,
Right?
But maybe that isn't the authentic thing that's there for you in that moment.
And that doesn't make you bad and that doesn't make you wrong and that doesn't make you ungrateful.
So,
For example,
I went to this island one day and it's a very well-known island.
And,
You know,
The thing I guess one should be grateful for is the,
The island itself and the beauty and how blessed you are to be able to visit that place.
But when I really got honest with myself,
I realized that my favorite part of the trip that entire day was playing this children's game where you shoot this gun,
This BB gun,
In a safe way to knock down these Coke cans for a prize.
And I lit up walking by this game and I had a blast and the Italian man was like,
You're mafia,
You're so good.
I didn't even win a prize because you had to pay more money to actually win the prize.
But I felt alive and connection and joy and play.
And that was the part of the day I was grateful for.
Not all the money I spent on meals and oceanfront this and,
And that's okay.
So I'm here in this beautiful rearranging gratitude meditation where we lift you into what's real to let you know that whatever you were grateful for in that day is right.
And you don't have to tell people who don't understand.
So as we breathe and settle in,
I'm going to take you on a little journey.
We're going to look at a few different parts of our life.
And I want you to start to realize that we can bring this healing energy,
This high frequency energy in amidst pain,
Amidst dissatisfaction,
Amidst challenge.
You know,
The day that I was having,
It was really hot.
There wasn't a lot of shade.
I was kind of miserable.
I was tired from walking uphill.
So wherever you are,
We're just going to say to ourselves right now,
It's okay.
Saying this to yourself,
It's okay for multiple things,
Multiple emotions,
Multiple states of being to exist within me.
This can also be called ambivalence.
And I was surprised to find out that this chronic,
Chronic illness specialist I worked with a long time ago said one of the reasons people that she was seeing in her practice were staying unwell was because they were not welcoming the energy of ambivalence.
There was a guilt when they felt hatred and love towards their partner or on a trip and felt miserable and happy because their system was in resistance to the truth.
And I know this is hard because me over here on the other end of this,
I don't see a lot of people doing that.
So it's taken my self-honoring and courage to say,
You know what?
Authenticity is what's most important to me.
And if everyone around me is telling me how amazing their trips are and I'm thinking there's something wrong with me and I'm a spoiled brat for having all the feelings,
But my purpose on the planet is to be real and to show you that a lot of us are in hiding and that may I be an invitation for you today to allow ambivalence,
That you're beautiful and lovable and enough and right that you feel that because all of us do.
All of us can feel multiple things at once.
So just breathe into that invitation.
How does that feel in your body?
How would it feel if I allowed all these multiple,
Wild,
Every level,
Dimensionality,
Beautiful kaleidoscope of energies within me to just be here and okay,
Knowing that they move,
They're subjective,
They're not the totality of me.
Half of them are unconscious and wired down to me.
It doesn't make me any less than.
Breathing into that.
So I want you to make some space for that today because we can invite this gratitude in now with that.
We can feel however and let it be however of a day and maybe we're grateful for.
I know sometimes on my when I was having really painful periods,
I was so grateful for Advil.
I was so grateful for Advil because that was the only thing before I had the shift.
I needed to heal it.
It gave me relief.
So we can let a little light in today.
We can allow our brain to reprogram.
We are healing our mind and our body and we're bringing light in wherever we are.
And if you try something on for size today and you're like,
Oh,
I feel grateful for my cat or my haircut.
And you thought you'd feel grateful,
But you don't really feel it.
Scrap it.
Try something else on.
I'm really grateful for that sweater.
I bought grateful.
I had the money to buy it.
Oh,
Yeah,
That feels nice in my body.
I'll keep that one.
Good.
So just breathe into the belly as we move into anchoring in this high frequency,
No matter where we are to lift your vibration,
To heal your body,
To call in abundance,
To be a magnet for more gratitude.
There are multiple healing benefits of the medicine of gratitude.
So apply liberally.
As we begin to deepen into meditation.
Close your eyes if they're not closed already and notice the connection between your body and the seat.
Allow yourself to settle in.
Notice the temperature on your skin.
Notice a sound or two around you.
Just let it kind of dawn on you.
Let this be really gentle and really easy and just notice what's here.
Let's deepen that breath down into the belly,
Down into the pelvis.
Let that light cleanse and expand you.
Expanding the chest,
Expanding the ribs,
Bringing in the light.
And when you're full,
Just letting it gently roll out.
Exhaling longer than you know.
A couple more of those.
Breathing into the belly,
Pelvis,
Ribs,
Chest.
Nice and full like a gentle balloon.
Long,
Slow exhale.
Just one more on your own.
Good.
Softening the body,
Bringing your awareness within.
It's okay for all of the feelings to be here.
I am the observer of it.
I am safe within it.
Breathing into my body,
These feelings can move when they're met with love.
I am behind my eyes.
I am calling my energy and awareness back to my body.
I am soft and I am grounded into the earth.
My intention is directing my energy.
I am connected to source.
I am connected to my higher self.
My soul is connected to my body and my body is connected to my soul.
And my soul is connected to source.
And source is my source.
I call all of my power back from wherever I innocently gave it away.
Not looking out there,
But within.
Connected to divine me,
Connected to loving thoughts.
I have what I need within.
And as you ground down into the earth,
We just gently say,
I release anything I no longer need that isn't mine to carry.
I am me and only me.
There you go.
Softening and breathing.
We're just going to begin this practice by moving our breath,
As we've done before,
Into our heart space.
As our heart,
Science is showing us,
Can send sensory neurites and information up to the brain.
So our thoughts can affect our body,
Our body can affect our thoughts.
And our heart,
Our love,
Our courage,
Our gratitude,
When amplified,
Can send healing neurotransmitters to our brain.
Helps us think more loving thoughts.
How wild is that?
More grateful thoughts.
So we're going to breathe into the chest.
Just bring your awareness to the center of your chest,
Your heart,
Your energetic heart.
And you're just going to breathe in a count of five,
Just gently.
Non-efforted breath in for five.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
And just as easy and gently as you breathed in,
We're going to breathe out for five.
We're just going to do a few of these.
If four and four feel better,
Or six and six feel better,
Trust your flow.
Just breathing in an equal,
Slower,
Deeper,
Soft rhythm.
Five,
And five,
And five,
And five.
For a few breaths.
Good.
And so as we're anchored into the heart,
And we're grounded,
We're clear,
We'll soften and breathe in a way that feels peaceful to you.
We begin to move into the energy of gratitude.
So we're going to call this energy from the universe of gratitude into a ball on the top of our head.
I kind of like to see this beach ball above my head.
And you're going to scribble or cursive.
I used to love cursive in elementary school.
Just cursive,
Write gratitude in this beach ball above your head.
And then I want you to let this color of whatever gratitude is for you.
It could be half red,
Half striped.
Remember,
We're going with authentic,
Not how we're supposed to be in this meditation.
So we're going to let those colors of gratitude move in.
And this is coming straight from source.
This is the energy of gratitude itself who is guiding this meditation for you.
And we're going to let that energy of gratitude move in through the top of your head and fill your whole body.
Mine kind of looks like a candy cane.
So I'm just going to let that expand two feet around you on all sides so you're marinating in it.
Your body is getting used to this.
Good.
So the first place we're going to begin to anchor in is just this present moment.
And I want you to look for the simplest thing.
So all we're going to do first is just notice what we're grateful for in this present moment.
It could be the temperature.
You're glad you're not cold or hot,
Too hot.
For me,
I'm drinking one of my favorite teas from one of my favorite stores.
I'm glad I actually have some in stock.
I'm grateful for the way my hair looks today.
So it could be just in this present moment.
Are you grateful for the pillow you have under your neck?
And again,
If you if these are intellectual and you don't really feel it,
Scrap it.
I'm going to try on a bunch of different hats.
We're shopping here together today.
I want you to look for the thing that makes you feel that sparkle inside,
Even if it's a little bit.
You're grateful for my voice.
You're grateful for.
It's a sunny day and you don't live in Alaska in the winter.
So what am I grateful for?
Really authentically grateful for right now,
Even if it's just a little bit.
What's right here right now that we're grateful for in this present moment?
We'll practice other levels soon.
Good.
And then.
See if you can find one of those things that you are grateful for.
That gave a little inner sparkle.
We're kind of being like gratitude rebels here,
Being grateful for things we're not supposed to be grateful for.
I just find the one that worked.
No one needs to know the one that worked.
And we're going to reprogram the mind and body now.
And this is where we really drink in the medicine on a nervous system level.
I want you just to notice you're becoming a gratitude student,
Gratitude explorer.
I want you just to notice.
So when I when I evoke this thought of this gratitude that actually made me feel something in my mind.
What does that feel like in my body?
And so some examples might be.
For me,
I feel like a warmth and a pressure and a pulsing in my chest.
And a little fluttering in my belly.
She just didn't notice on a physical level.
How does this gratitude?
What does this feel like in my body?
Because that makes our brain aware of it.
Makes our body receive the medicine of it instead of it being more intellectual.
So just breathe and maybe you go through a Rolodex of a couple of them that felt really good.
And you kind of let it ignite this flame of gratitude,
Even if it's a little bit.
You're stoking that flame.
I'm grateful.
I thought to order some new white socks yesterday.
What does that feel like?
Yeah,
Pressure in the heart.
So we're just going to do that for a minute here.
Just evoke the thing you're grateful for in the now and notice how it positively affects your body and let yourself be with it.
Right now,
When we're not used to these higher states and we've waited until to get to this state and we feel like we're supposed to be grateful,
We're undoing a lot.
So it might feel a little uncomfortable to sit in this,
But we're not going to do it for long.
And see if you can push a little bit beyond your edge and let yourself bathe in this positive sensation of gratitude.
You're dosing yourself high,
High magic,
High medicine.
There you go.
And just let it expand for a few breaths.
Good.
And some of our categories as we meditate might overlap,
So we don't need it to be perfect.
It can be abstract.
We can have overlaps.
So we were just kind of talking about this present moment now,
And I know I gave some examples of our life,
But let's think about generally in our life at the moment.
What are we grateful for?
So if we expand out a little bit beyond this moment,
It could be something in our home.
It could be something in one of our relationships.
It could be something in our work life.
It could be multiple things.
We stick with one gratitude.
We swim in a few or just anchoring in this practice.
For me,
I'm cleaning out my house and I'm really grateful for the way it feels to just let go of that,
Which I know no longer need.
And so let's just sit together in the quiet and just really gently,
Non-effort,
Just bring to mind some things in our current life that we are grateful for.
And if they don't work,
Chuck the hat away.
We don't like that one.
Find one that evokes a nice,
Gentle sparkle inside.
And then once we find a few,
We're going to sit with that feeling again.
And once you've found something that feels nice,
We're going to let the brain,
Again,
Rewire itself around this new belief.
And if all the old stuff comes in,
That's welcome.
Those are the habits.
Those are the patterns.
That's what we're used to.
We welcome it with compassion.
It's okay.
You're here.
It's okay.
We're angrier.
This is tough.
We just say,
That's welcome.
And we're just rewiring something new.
So can we let both be here?
We're having a gratitude add-on in our massage today.
Good.
And notice the positive sensations that these thoughts of gratitude about our life right now.
One thought,
Many thoughts evokes in the body.
And you can even name it in your head.
Warmth,
Tingling,
Pressure,
Expansiveness.
It could be a picture you see.
You're like,
Oh,
Red velvet cake.
Doesn't have to make sense.
But positivity is evoked in the body.
Let the brain notice.
Let yourself drink it in.
Nice.
So next we're going to just connect for a minute back to our breath.
Taking a nice cleansing breath into the belly.
Into the body.
Nice,
Slow exhale.
Softening the body into the space under you.
You are doing big work here.
All is welcome.
Adding in gratitude.
We move to our self.
And remember,
We might have lots of thoughts of ourselves and that's fine.
But we just find something about ourselves on any level.
Physically,
Emotionally,
Spiritually.
That we're grateful for.
Maybe we're really resilient or strong.
Or driven or focused.
Or we're really intelligent.
We're really deep or we're really magical.
And you're really grateful for that quality in you.
Or you really like your cheekbones.
Or your style.
So it doesn't matter.
Remember,
There's no right or wrong.
It's just that thing that gives you the sparkle.
So let's try some hats on of gratitude about you.
If it doesn't feel good,
Let it float away like a cloud.
We don't need to do that one.
It's not authentic for us.
Not a problem.
We're going to find a yummy resonance.
I'm grateful for,
About myself.
Maybe you find yourself saying a bunch of things.
That's good too.
And then once you find one or a few that feel good.
That feel right.
That feel resonant.
That feel true.
Let's just again bring our awareness to how that thought of gratitude.
Or thoughts of gratitude about you.
Are positively affecting your body.
It's changing the chemistry of your brain and body.
You can even whisper it aloud.
Or name it in your head.
This thought about my resilience.
Makes me feel this beautiful positive pressure in my chest.
It's okay to just be honest with you.
Because you're just being honest with yourself.
No one has to know.
It's to just be your sacred practice.
Just again let's anchor in.
Take a deep breath into the belly.
Long slow exhale.
And then we're going to look now at a place.
Place in the planet.
On the planet.
Could be the sun or the moon.
Or a place you've been that you loved.
Or it could be you know.
Maybe you love your bedroom.
Your office.
Or for me it's Ojai.
Love me some Ojai.
So just allow yourself to think of a place or some places.
Because again I could.
Probably supposed to be grateful for Italy.
And supposed to be grateful for blah blah blah.
But I'm grateful for a place that's an hour away.
So what is yours?
And maybe you've never been there.
But you're grateful for it because it's on your screensaver.
And it makes you feel great.
So find that authentic gratitude for a place.
Let's scan our mind and breathe and soften.
And see what comes to us.
Find the one with the most resonance.
And just clock how it positively affects your body.
What are the sensations that are evoked.
When we sit in this authentic gratitude.
For a place on the planet.
Let it expand.
Push your edges.
Our nervous system is actually grateful for tolerable discomfort.
Safe discomfort.
Because that's how it expands.
That's how it lets us know we're safe in gratitude.
We're safe experiencing things that will make us feel grateful.
Because at first it doesn't feel good.
But it's safe.
Gratitude's safe.
And so we can know,
Oh my gosh,
This is a little edgy for me.
But it's safe.
I can push a little bit.
And then if I need to back off at all,
I can just breathe.
I'm almost there.
Am I my at this point?
Am I vibing high?
Take a deep breath in through the belly.
Long,
Slow exhale.
We're going to move into an animal.
An animal you knew.
An animal you know.
This could be animals on the planet you think are cool.
I love lions.
I haven't had one as a pet.
But I love them.
I'm grateful for them.
For existing.
So it could be a pet you've had.
It could be a friend's pet.
It could be an animal on TV.
An animal in real life.
A spirit guide animal.
Trying on a few hats.
Which animal do you feel comfortable with?
Which animal are you grateful for?
It doesn't have to make any sense.
It could just be.
.
.
You know,
I'm really grateful for kittens because I watch kitten videos on Instagram and they lift me out of a bad mood.
So just.
.
.
I'm just remembering a cat that I had at my stepmom's when I was young that I'm feeling grateful for because it was hard being in that place for me sometimes and that specific cat brought me solace.
So let's just allow ourselves to welcome in gratitude for an animal.
We're animals.
Which one is it for you?
And then anchoring that into the body by noticing the positive sensations evoked within.
It could be different.
It could be the same.
For this one,
My face feels kind of lit up like the sun.
It expands.
There's a high vibe feeling.
An upliftment in the head.
Moving upward.
Again,
Let it be weird.
Let it be wrong.
It's just real and that's all that matters.
Breathing in.
Noticing.
Deep breath in.
Let it go.
Soften the body.
We're going to do one more on this level.
Just for fun,
Using our imagination,
We're going to just think now if we don't need this thing to happen.
Just playing here.
Opening your mind.
If this happened,
I'd be so grateful.
If this happened,
I'd be so grateful.
Just to evoke that feeling in a future sense.
If I was able to have this much more money or live in this house or heal this thing,
I'd be so grateful.
What is it for you that's authentic?
It could be goodness,
The tiniest thing.
Find that perfect skin product.
Then notice that gratitude.
It might feel a little different.
How does that gratitude feel?
If I had this thing,
I'd feel.
.
.
Again,
We're looking for the gratitude.
It's okay if other feelings are here.
Multiple things can exist at once,
But just that gratitude.
Let the brain clock how that positively affects the body.
Good.
Breathing into the belly.
Softening the body.
We're going to end with something similar but a little different.
I want you to ask your subconscious mind to find a time in your life you felt grateful.
It could be for.
.
.
Anything.
This random memory just came to me.
I'm remembering I had a cold or something when I was little.
I finally got my appetite back and I felt better.
I loved hot peppers.
I was so excited.
So grateful that I could eat this hot pepper again.
I could feel this relief in my body.
That hot pepper,
Man,
Wow.
It could be that time you flew to blah blah blah or gosh,
Anything.
It can also be the hot pepper after your cold when you were seven.
What was a time in your life?
Subconscious mind,
Show me a moment of real gratitude and let that come into your mind.
We're going to anchor this one in a little differently.
Give you a moment here to find it.
Once you have that memory or that hint of that memory we're going to do a process called sifting which really anchors this gratitude into your nervous system and leaves you in this state.
In this image,
What thought is here?
It could be,
Oh man,
That's good.
Wow,
Cool.
What thought's here?
Just notice,
Let this be effortless.
Then let yourself with that memory that was evoked,
Let yourself look around in this memory and see if you can pick out any other images like kind of a 180 view and you're looking around and you're,
Oh wow,
Yeah,
There's the fireplace and you can see the hot pepper,
Whatever it is for you.
Good,
And what feeling is here?
It might be gratitude,
But there might be other.
Alive,
Relief,
Peace,
Safe,
Love.
Name it,
Notice it.
And then lastly,
You know this part.
What positive sensation is evoked in the body when you bathe in this image?
Feeling and thought.
My body took a deeper breath.
I was aware of myself in the seat.
What is it for you?
Good.
Just breathing into that belly again.
Long,
Slow exhales.
We slowly allow ourselves to know we just shifted our entire field authentically.
We allowed multiple states to exist at once as no problem for us.
That we are powerful beyond measure and can bring this in no matter how we feel or where we are.
To heal our minds,
Our bodies,
And our lives slowly,
Safely.
And you can use any of these practices for 60 seconds a day.
It's one thing I'm grateful for that's real and how does it make me feel?
Just that quick shift or allowing yourself to dive and swim in this long-form practice.
As I have heard,
I've been the receiver of story after story after story of miraculous shifts when spending time here.
So in your own time as you're ready,
You're going to bring yourself back.
I am behind my eyes.
I am in my body connected to myself,
My higher self,
My source,
The earth.
I'm letting go of that which isn't mine to carry.
I am me and only me.
I feel the connection between my body and what is under me.
And I'm breathing deeper into my body and I'm stretching and wiggling.
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
And so it is.
