Welcome to day 9 of Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.

Setting an intention is making a decision about who you want to be and how you choose to show up.

Over time,

Those choices become change.

Let's begin.

Hey there,

And welcome to day 9 of Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.

My name is Jamie Clements,

And today we're turning our focus towards purpose.

We're often led to believe that purpose is a singular,

External thing,

That once we discover it,

Everything will make sense.

But for me,

Purpose is a way of moving through the world that emerges naturally when we are at our most connected with our truth,

When we're at our most connected with our authentic self.

I like to think that purpose is the free will of my highest self,

This way of being that naturally emerges when we quieten the external and internal noise and allow our truth to emerge.

And it's from this place that we can begin to live a life of agency and freedom and come away from autopilot to live life on your own terms.

To help us embody that truth,

Our intention today is this.

Today,

I'll remember that I am in control of my own life.

If you haven't already done so,

Gently close your eyes and begin to turn your awareness inwards.

Gently start to slow your breath down,

Breathing in and out of the nose.

In order to allow our purpose to emerge,

We need to create the internal conditions of safety for it to do so.

We need to quieten the internal noise to allow that truth to come through.

Today,

We'll do that through breath,

To quiet the mind,

Open the heart and connect you deeply to yourself.

So as you continue to slow your breath here,

Can you allow the shoulders to drop away from the ears?

Can you allow the jaw to soften and release any tension you might be holding here?

With your next exhale,

Can you allow your whole body to soften?

Anchor yourself,

Breath by breath,

Into a state of deep and genuine stillness.

On your next breath,

Take a deep full inhale through your nose and pause at the top.

Take a second,

Smaller inhale and sigh out,

Release.

Good,

Inhale,

Topping it up and sigh out,

Let it go.

And we'll take one more like that,

Deep breath in,

Topping it up and exhaling.

We're now going to move into a simple extended exhale breath.

For this breath,

Breathing slowly in through your nose,

And this time blowing the exhale out through the mouth like you're blowing through a small straw,

Extending and lengthening that out breath.

Repeating that breath a few times here.

With each breath,

Allowing that sense of deep calm,

Of quiet,

Of relaxation to wash over your whole body.

And just taking two more final cycles of that breath here.

Allow that sense of stillness to settle into every fiber of your being.

As you come to the end of that final cycle of breath,

Place one hand on your heart.

A simple reminder that you're here and that you can live your life on your own terms.

Remember today,

I'll remember that I am in control of my own life.

On the next few screens,

The simple act of seeing your intention reflected back throughout the day is enough to start to create change.
