Hi and welcome to this morning breathwork practice designed to help you start your day in the most balanced,
Calm and clear way.
This is going to be a calming and balancing protocol,
Designed to regulate and balance your nervous system as you start the day.
If you can start your day from a position of balance and calm within the nervous system,
Then the whole day will play out extremely differently than if you were overstimulated and over activated at the start of the day.
Your clarity of thought will be better,
Your cognitive function,
Your physical function,
Your ability to make better decisions and your overall state of mind and body will be optimised.
So I'd really encourage you to make this a part of your daily practice.
I'd encourage you to do this practice seated,
So find yourself a comfortable seated position.
This practice is going to be about 10 minutes long.
So get yourself comfortable,
Sit nice and comfortably with your back straight and tall.
And when you feel ready,
Just gently closing the eyes.
And as you do so,
Just allowing the body here to settle into a place of total stillness.
Finding that sense of body stillness and noticing here how you feel in these first few moments of the day.
Noticing how you feel physically,
How does the body feel this morning?
And also checking in with how you feel mentally.
Is the mind calm and clear?
Are there a few thoughts,
Many thoughts?
Just allowing whatever's there to be present without judgement.
Using this as your first opportunity to check in with your state at the beginning of this new day.
And we're just going to open up with three deep clearing breaths.
Really nice big expansive breaths together.
Breathing in through the nose and sighing out of the mouth.
So take a nice deep inhale.
And sigh out.
Good.
Breathing in.
And release.
One more.
Breathe in.
And let it go.
Good.
Just allow the breath to settle.
Allow the body to remain still.
And from here now just begin to slow the breath down.
So breathing in and out of your nose.
Just starting to deepen the breath down into the belly.
Gradually slowing down each inhale and each exhale.
The focus here just on bringing your awareness and your attention gently to the breath.
And in the present moment.
And just starting to slow everything down.
And now just allow the breath to settle back to a nice comfortable natural place.
And we're going to take five rounds of breath together.
Breathing in deeply through the nose.
Blowing the exhale slowly out of the mouth.
When you're ready take a nice deep inhale.
And exhale.
Good.
Inhale.
And exhale.
Taking three more like that.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Two more.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Last breath.
Breathing in.
And exhaling.
Letting it go.
Letting the body relax.
Letting the mind relax.
And just noticing here again.
Noticing how you feel.
We're going to move through two more exercises to help you set up the day.
To focus the mind.
Leave you feeling ready to take on whatever today has in store for you.
So we're going to begin with this next exercise.
Where we're going to be breathing in through the nose for a count of three.
Holding at the top for a count of ten.
And then exhaling out of the nose for a count of six.
So when you're ready.
Following my count together.
We're going to breathe in.
Two.
Three.
Hold.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Seven.
Eight.
Nine.
Ten.
Out.

We'll take two more rounds here.
Our last round coming up.
And exhale.
End of this exhale.
Just allow the breath to settle.
Allow the breath to soften.
Again,
Check in with how you feel.
We're just using those breath holds there to slightly stimulate and focus the mind.
