Welcome to this session,
My name is Jake and we're going to be exploring the connection between your breath and your inner state of being.
So in order to do this I'd like you to find a comfortable and relaxed position whether that's sitting or lying down and once you've found that position you can either bring a soft focus to the eyes or you can just gently close them down and then let's begin.
This meditation and breath work session is very simple,
Very easy,
Very effortless.
I'm not going to be changing the pattern of breathing,
We're simply just going to begin by tuning in to your breath.
What do I mean by that?
I simply just want you to become aware that you are actually breathing.
Observe its natural rhythm,
The rise and fall of your chest or abdomen as you breathe.
There's no need to change anything,
There's no need to alter anything,
There is no need to disrupt.
Simply just notice and take a deep intentional inhale through your nose,
Feeling the cool air enter your nostrils,
Filling up your lungs and as you exhale feel the slightly warmer air leaving your body.
Inhale slowly,
Exhale even more slowly,
Allowing any tension to melt away with each breath.
What else can you notice?
Be curious here and learn the hidden details of your breathing and as you continue to breathe,
Direct your attention towards the sensation of breath in your nostrils.
Notice the subtle sensation of the air passing through your nose,
Paying attention to the entire cycle of breath from the moment it enters your body to the moment it leaves.
And with each inhale and exhale,
Allow yourself to be fully present in this moment,
Letting go of any thoughts about the past or the future.
This is your time to be here,
Now.
And as you breathe,
Start to notice any sensations,
Any emotions or thoughts that arise within you.
Your breath is a mirror to your inner state.
Without judgment,
Simply observe what's happening within you.
Are there areas of tension or relaxation,
Joy or restlessness?
Let it all be.
Your breath is a bridge between your body and mind.
Use it as a tool to deepen your awareness.
As you breathe,
You gain insight into your inner world.
If your mind starts to wander,
Gently guide it back to the sensation of your breath.
Now,
Let's take a few moments of silence together.
Continue to focus on your breath and explore your inner state in this stillness.
And then just coming back to those subtle sensations of air moving through the nostrils.
Bringing yourself back to any sensations,
Any emotions,
Any areas of pleasure or pain.
And then we're going to take a deep inhale in and hold.
Three,
Two,
One,
Sigh.
Deep inhale in.
Hold.
Three,
Two,
One,
Sigh.
Deep inhale in.
Hold.
Three,
Two,
One,
Sigh.
And just return back to a normal rhythm of breath.
Allowing everything just to normalise.
And when you're ready,
Just gently bring your awareness back to your surroundings.
Slowly opening up your eyes.
Taking with you the mindfulness and awareness that you have cultivated in this practice.
Remembering that you can return to this practice whenever you need to reconnect with your inner state.
Your breath is always with you,
Offering a path to presence and self-awareness.
Thank you for joining me in this meditation.
May you carry this peace and mindfulness of this practice with you throughout the day.
And if you've enjoyed this session,
Please consider leaving a review.
And I'll see you again in the next one.
With love,
Jake.
