In this practice, we will release all the ways in which we view and present ourselves as we unlearn who we truly are. Connecting to yourself as a being of pure awareness free of limiting beliefs and lables of who you are. From this place we are free to connect to our true self and possibly recieve guidance/messages from the heart of our being.

Hello and welcome to your meditation.

My name is Jamie and I'm gonna be guiding you today.

Today our meditation is about connecting to our true self.

So letting go of all those ideas of who you think you should be,

Maybe even some of those ideas of who you think you are and just connecting to your true self.

So beginning today go ahead and find your seat or lay down,

Whatever position feels good for you for this meditation.

Once you get there go ahead and close your eyes.

Just taking a moment here to settle into the space,

This present moment.

Letting go of anything that exists outside of the space and time.

Beginning to allow your physical body to relax.

See if you can drop the shoulders away from the ears.

Let them rest down your back behind your heart space.

The arms and legs can be heavy and soft.

Release the muscles in the face,

Your forehead,

Eyes,

Jaw.

And begin to bring your awareness to your breath.

Just beginning to notice the inhale and the exhale.

Watching how they move through the body.

In your mind's eye,

Imagine yourself seated in front of a fire.

Just take a moment to notice what this fire looks like.

How big are the flames?

What color are they?

What is surrounding them?

Just filling the warmth of the flames surrounding your body,

Allowing you to relax deeper into the space.

As you watch the flames of the fire flickering,

Start to bring to your mind the labels that you have of yourself.

Maybe this is wife,

Mom,

Lawyer,

Student,

Brother.

See if you can notice all of the labels that you have for yourself.

All of the ways that you call yourself.

And then take all of these labels that came to mind and throw them all into the fire.

Watch them burn to ashes,

Disappear into the smoke.

Now bring to your mind any limiting ideas that you have about yourself or for yourself.

These might look like I have to be a certain weight to be attractive.

Maybe I have to achieve a certain goal by a certain time or age.

What are these beliefs that you hold to be true?

Once you've recognized what these beliefs look like,

Allow them to float into the flames,

Into the fire.

Watch them burn.

Now bring into your mind all of the characteristics of yourself.

How do you characterize your personality?

Maybe you say that you're kind,

Funny,

Cautious,

Loyal.

What are all the ways in which you label your state of being?

Take all of these characteristics that came to mind,

All of the ways in which you describe yourself or you think others describe you and allow them to go into the fire.

See if you can now picture yourself seated in your heart center without all these labels,

These characteristics,

These limiting ideas and beliefs.

What are you left with?

Just your being.

Notice yourself there filled with light,

Maybe a golden light or a bright white light.

Maybe you can experience yourself now as more of a feeling or an experience versus a label or the language that you use to describe yourself.

Releasing all of those words,

Those descriptions and just being.

This is your true self,

True awareness.

Take these last few minutes of your meditation.

Just allow yourself to be guided by your true self.

Maybe you just take this opportunity in silence to notice any messages that arise.

Maybe you want to ask your true self a certain question,

Something that you've been going back and forth about,

An important decision and without trying to conjure up any thoughts and also not trying to push any away.

See what comes through.

As you listen to your inner guide,

Trust yourself.

Trust that you will know the difference between the rambling thoughts of the ego and the truth coming from your heart center.

And the more often you spend in this space really connecting to and communicating with yourself,

The more clear the messages will be.

And know that wherever you are is completely fine.

If nothing comes up,

That's okay.

If your mind is racing,

That's okay too.

Let go of any expectations you have of yourself and your meditation practice and allow yourself to just be present.

Anythingwashingii MB seen As you're ready,

Allow yourself to gently bring awareness back into the physical world.

Notice your surroundings,

Any sounds,

Any feelings.

Whenever you're ready,

Maybe it's now or maybe you want to hang out in this space for a little bit longer.

Gently open the eyes,

Bringing yourself back.
