Sat Naam everyone,
My name is Jai Kamal Kaur and today I'll be leading you in a beautiful laughter meditation.
Now I first heard about this laughter meditation from another Kundalini yogini and Sat Naam or Saiyam healer named Mahan Kern who lives down in LA of California.
And she found out about this particular process from a trip that she took to Bali.
And she met an individual there who is sort of a laughter doctor of sorts.
And so if you sit with this individual,
He will in essence prescribe a type of laughter for you in order for you to have the experience you need to have deep,
Deep release in your body.
And to bring in greater peace and greater joy in your life.
So that's exactly what we're going to dive into today.
And even if you don't feel like laughing,
You were meant to find this,
You're meant to be here.
And if any time,
Even when you're trying out something new,
Because we're doing these six different types of laughter,
If you feel like you're coming up against a little bit of resistance,
Know that that's normal,
Very,
Very typical.
And I just invite you to continue sort of persevere through it,
Because it means you're breaking through that resistance point.
And you'll feel so much better on the other side.
So thank you so much for being here.
We'll bring our palms together in prayer mudra at the heart center.
And collecting some deep inhales and exhales here.
So that we can come into this present moment.
Taking a deep inhale and a deep exhale,
Letting that go,
Letting out a sigh,
We're going to be very vocal,
This next little bit together.
So getting used to making some sounds,
Making some vocalizations,
Making some vibrations,
Another deep inhale,
Filling the lungs,
And exhale,
Letting that release.
We can now interlace those fingers that were in prayer mudra,
Interlace them together into what's called venous lock.
And my palms are facing down towards the ground,
My elbows are lifted,
So my arms are also parallel.
I'm going to raise those hands up until they're sort of floating there in front of the throat,
A throat chakra.
And it's here we're going to warm up with a nice pranayama that's going to open up the lungs.
And while we're doing this,
We're going to be using what's called an O-shaped mouth breath of fire.
So how you produce that,
You're going to form an O-shape with your mouth,
Just as the name describes.
And we're going to do an equal inhale and exhale out of the mouth,
It sounds like this.
So keeping that breath going,
There's a nice gentle pull between the fingers,
Gentle imposed resistance point,
So as if you're trying to pull your fingers apart,
But you're not letting yourself.
And then continuing that breath,
We'll be here for about a little over a minute.
Letting your eyes close down,
Roll up and in,
Gazing at that third eye point,
Really letting your navel point move.
This is going to open up the lungs,
So if there's grief stored in the lungs,
We can allow this laughter,
This deep cathartic transformative process to release whatever is needing to be released from the body.
So continuing this deep cleansing breath,
This purifying breath for a little bit longer.
You're doing so well,
I know it's not easy,
Especially if you're new to trying this type of pranayama breath work.
And taking your last few moments here.
Seeing how deeply you can breathe into those lungs,
Letting it release.
And taking now a deep,
Deep inhale,
Holding the arms exactly where they are,
Holding the breath.
And now we're going to contract everything in the body,
Contract,
Make it super tight.
Your toes are tight,
Your knees are tight,
Your buttocks is tight,
Even your eyes can scrunch and squint.
Squeeze your face and exhale out.
Keeping your hands here,
We'll do this two more times.
Deep inhale.
And squeeze,
Contract,
Everything gets super tight.
Toes to nose is very tense.
And fire out,
Exhale.
And last time,
Deep inhale,
Last chance to squeeze out a little stress from your day,
Year or century,
However,
A decade.
And inhale,
Hold,
Squeeze.
And fire out.
Letting those hands relax down.
You can bring your hands into what's called gyan mudra,
So the index finger and thumb of both hands are gently pressed at the fingertips together.
Then resting hands on the knees if you're sitting in easy pose,
I recommend this position for the next portion of this meditation.
We'll just rest here for a moment,
Collecting ourself,
Already feeling the shifts and changes from that pranayama exercise.
Just take a moment to set an intention.
And may we open to the possibility that this practice can release more than we could have imagined when we began.
Let us allow this laughter to heal us for our highest good,
To release anything that is no longer serving us.
Just allow and be open on the physical,
Mental and emotional and spiritual plane,
Or whatever's needing movement in this time together.
It's now inviting you to bring your left hand,
Placing that gently over your navel center,
Right there at the lower part of your belly.
And it's here that we will begin the first stage of our laughter meditation,
Our laughter mantra,
If you will.
And this first one we will be pronouncing sounds,
Huh.
So I really want this to be a deep laugh and make it dig deep into the belly of your being.
And it'll sound like this.
Huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh.
Oh huh huh huh huh huh huh.
Oh huh huh huh huh huh.
And for a full 60 seconds,
We're laughing in that way.
You're on the clock now,
Inviting you to make sound in this area of the navel,
This belly.
Oh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh.
Oh huh huh huh huh huh.
And if you cough,
If you feel like you'd rather scream,
If you just want to make another grunt noise,
You are invited to make whatever sound this particular area of the body is calling to you in this moment to make.
Oh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh.
And if it feels disingenuous,
Just cast it aside.
You are moving deeply energy.
Dig deep into the underbelly.
Just a few seconds here,
Deep into this emotional digestion,
This physical digestion.
Oh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh.
And inhale and hold.
Hold that breath.
And exhale,
Letting that release.
Well done.
Now bring that same hand up and place it now over the heart.
And for this laugh,
We will be tapping into the heart with the sound,
Heh,
As our laugh.
So it'll sound like this.
And starting that laughter for a full minute here,
Let this sound heal your heart from all layers that it is needing healing.
Heal it from the lovers,
All the almost lovers,
All the ex-boyfriends,
Girlfriends,
Ex-husbands,
Ex-wives,
Whoever it didn't work out with.
Let that loss,
Let that heartache,
That heartbreak be released out of the body right now through this laugh.
Eh heh heh heh heh heh.
Let it go deep into all four quadrants of your heart.
We're dusting out all of those areas where grief is stored in the lungs.
Let it out right now,
Just not need to be left in the body.
Heh heh heh heh.
All of those loved ones or pets that left us before we were ready for them to leave us.
Let us breathe this right now through this laugh,
Release it right now,
Not to minimize it,
But so that we can move on and live more fully.
Eh heh heh heh heh.
And taking an inhale,
Deep inhale,
Filling the lungs,
And hold.
And exhale release.
Moving subtly further up in the body.
Now placing that hand gently on your beautiful throat where we voice ourselves,
Whether we know it or are aware of it or not,
Both verbally and non-verbally.
This is also where we hold the ethers of fear in our body,
Fear towards new experiences,
Fear towards individuals,
Whatever,
However the fear shows up in your life.
And we are going to laugh it out with the sound.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.
Let it really vibrate and move whatever is in that throat chakra,
Ready to be released.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.
Let it be deep,
Let it clear,
All that non-verbal communication we also send to ourself.
We can send judgment towards ourself.
We can communicate non-verbally,
Envy or jealousy.
If we want to be jealous,
Let's be jealous of ourselves for how amazingly beautiful we are ourselves.
And laughing it out.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.
All that self-judgment,
We're going to laugh it out right now.
Ho ho ho ho ho.
.
And a little bit more releasing that fear,
Releasing anything we've held onto that we haven't communicated with our voice,
Letting it flow out right now.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho.
And last few ones.
And taking a deep inhale.
And hold.
Holding yourself.
And exhale,
Letting that release.
Now release that hand from the throat.
We're going to move further up into our mouth area.
So our lips are going to press together for this next laugh.
We're going to vibrate just for a few moments here.
The sound.
Mm-hmm.
So sort of like a mm-hmm.
And so that type of laugh that you're not really supposed to laugh,
So you hold it in behind your lips.
Mm-hmm,
Mm-hmm,
Mm-hmm,
Mm-hmm,
Mm-hmm,
Mm-hmm,
Mm-hmm,
Mm-hmm.
And taking your last few.
And hold on the inhale.
And exhale.
Releasing whatever needs to be released at our lips.
Now we're ready for one of my favorites in this series.
We're already on stage number five.
Great job in this process.
It is not easy,
But you're going to love the effects at the end.
We are going to get to point our fingers,
Our index fingers,
For this next laugh.
And this is the type of laugh that it's almost like you have to laugh so hard you're ready to pee your pants.
And yet you can't really make that much sound.
It just doesn't really come out because it's so funny.
Sound doesn't even come out.
But energy is going to come out of the body.
And that's the important piece of this and in this specific stage.
So it'll sound like this.
So go ahead,
Try this out.
Remember when you were needing to just laugh so hard,
You were pointing at that thing that was hilarious.
And just let anything,
Any drama,
Trauma stored in the body come out through this laugh.
This is so deeply healing.
So dig right into it.
Laugh from your toes.
Laugh from anywhere that there is needed release in the body.
Right now you're invited to let it go.
And last few seconds here.
So deep.
And a deep,
Deep inhale.
Holding.
And exhale.
So well done.
Letting that release.
We're already on step number six of this six stage process.
And for this one,
We will be combining all of your favorites.
So whatever laugh,
Sound,
Vocalization you want to make,
Now is the time to do it.
You are on the clock.
Go.
Oh.
Oh.
Combining whatever was left in the body.
Of all these types we've done before.
And even if you don't feel like doing it,
Just picking whatever sound is ready to release.
Because if you don't laugh now,
You'll be crying later.
And you may be crying in this process,
And that's actually part of the process,
That you know what the quote means.
Ah,
Letting yourself laugh,
Whatever you need to laugh from the body.
However the energy makes its way in in trauma,
It also can make its way out.
So do it right now,
Don't keep it stored in the body for years and years.
You can release it out right now,
That's good news.
And release.
And taking a deep inhale,
Holding the breath.
And exhale,
Release.
Again,
Bringing your hands into Gyan Mudra,
How we started,
Index,
Finger and thumb pressed together lightly,
Inducing a beautiful state of calm.
And bringing those hands and palms facing up towards the sky,
Resting on the knees.
And just breathing long and deep breaths here.
Giving ourselves a chance to notice all the changes that this simple yet profound process can bring about.
And offering a moment of gratitude and a gesture of gratitude towards yourself for doing this work,
This deep,
Deep work.
Laughing,
You know,
It may feel like you're laughing by yourself,
You're laughing with divine beings from all corners of the earth,
All corners of the globe.
And they're here doing this process with you.
They're also releasing deeply,
They're also grieving,
They're also laughing,
Tears of joy,
Whatever stage you're in today in this process,
Just allowing it and honoring it.
That that's what you needed for today.
Another day,
It'll be completely different and just accepting and surrendering to that.
Thank you.
Thank you again for trying this process.
I recommend you doing it whatever you're needing,
A mood boost,
An energy boost,
A stress reliever,
Because it can do all of this deep laugh medicine.
They say laughter is medicine,
It really is true.
Pass this on to your friends who you think would benefit.
We need to be laughing and smiling,
Especially right now on the planet,
More so than ever.
And so may it uplift you and others,
Bring you some peace,
Peace of mind,
And infuse you with some added joy.
We'll close this practice today with one Sat Naam from the Kundalini Yoga lineage.
Inhaling deeply.
Sat Naam.
Sat Naam,
Which means truth is my essence,
Truth is my name.
And it also can be translated as we are all divine.
We are all one.
So I'm wishing you all greater peace and greater joy.
And realize that you can try and fit this in once you know the steps,
Fit it in every day,
See what a difference,
What a change that makes.
Love and light to you all.
See you again soon.

I used to perform as a singer from a growl to the scream to everything in between but stopped years ago. After doing this laugh work with you today, I realize how much emotion has been stored up in these years. Thank you. That was unexpectedly powerful release. It took a moment to “get” each type of laugh but then it would click and my body responded loudly. Amazing stuff.🙏
