This is a deeply relaxing dive into yourself, your body, and your innate connection with wild nature. With a soothing body scan and then a journey through your imagination into a place in nature, we return refreshed, remembering, perhaps with insight into your own unique nature and and with gratitude for our connection to place.

So make yourself comfortable,

Just as comfortable as you possibly can.

Whether that is sitting upright with your spine erect so that you can be supported,

Your muscles can relax and hang off of that spine and the bony structure,

Or whether it is laying flat,

Allowing the surface underneath you to hold you,

To support you,

To allow you to and invite you to,

Just let go.

And just imagine that you are gifting yourself right now with an invitation.

You might even imagine saying silently to yourself,

I invite you into this time out of time where there is nothing required of you.

So take some nice deep breaths,

Bringing your focus and attention on to the breath.

Just noticing it wherever you feel it,

Noticing the gentle waves of air that are constantly moving in and out of our bodies.

Notice where you feel that most acutely in your body.

Letting yourself bring your attention to the surface that is under you right now.

Feel where your body touches that and maybe even see if you can allow whatever the part of your body that is touching that surface to really meet it.

You might even allow your skin or your body to get weighted or heavy at those points.

And that might want to spread throughout your body,

This feeling of heaviness,

Weightedness,

Like sand in an hourglass pouring into the back sides and the lower parts of your body.

And as you do this,

You might notice the relationship between getting heavy and really relaxing,

Feeling the relaxation.

Now scan through the body to see if there are places that might be holding on a bit where you can invite even more relaxation.

Notice your neck and head,

Especially the face right now,

The forehead and the eyes,

Your cheeks and your jaw,

Perhaps the skin there that can just hang off that bony structure just a little bit more.

There's support around us and under us and inside of us all the time and sometimes we forget.

Notice inside the mouth,

The tongue and even the teeth.

What if you can let your teeth relax?

Imagine that.

And the tip of your nose and your earlobes.

And coming down through the neck,

All those tendons and ligaments and muscles that work so hard to hold up our heavy heads,

Inviting them to soften just a little bit.

Softening that neck and where the neck meets the shoulders as if that softening were a very slow wave coming into shore,

Moving across your body and softening it.

The shoulders down the arms,

Past the elbows and into the hands,

That wave moving in gently.

Noticing any sensations that might be left in its wake as the wave of softening moves through.

There might be bubbling like water sinking into sand or a tingling sensation.

Maybe energy moving in the shoulders or any of those joints,

Elbows,

Hands,

Palms of the hands.

Moving down the body through the torso,

The ribs and the chest area,

The heart,

The lungs and all the organs in the abdominal cavity.

Down into the pelvic cradle through the genitals and into the hips and down the legs,

A wave of softening and letting go.

A tide of relaxation through the knees and into the feet.

Just noticing the after effect in all those places that the movement of softening has slowly moved through.

Try giving yourself permission to be relaxed here,

To be in receptive,

Aware state of being.

Be super interested in your inner reality.

What are you aware of right now?

What physical sensations do you feel?

And from this very relaxed place of letting go,

I'd like to invite you to take a little wander in your imagination out into nature.

Perhaps into a wilderness area or a place in nature that is familiar to you.

Perhaps a place that you feel really at home in.

Perhaps a place that has invoked some kind of altered state in the past,

A numinous state,

A place where you feel the presence of something other or something greater.

You might be surprised where you end up.

Just let yourself find yourself in nature,

Someplace that you've been before or maybe someplace new,

But somehow familiar,

I'm guessing.

And as you arrive,

However you arrive,

Take a look around and open your senses to this place.

What do you see here?

Really take in the visual.

What's the temperature on your skin?

What breezes or stillness?

Might there be sunlight or cool rain or fog?

Are there any scents that you smell?

Perhaps there's sound that enters your ears or moves through.

Really receive this place.

Maybe there's even a certain quality of taste,

Almost as if you could taste the place.

What would it taste like if you could?

Let yourself come into absolute presence.

Experience this place with your presence.

You can experience this place unlike anyone else can.

You have a relationship with this place.

You have a connection with this place that is absolutely unique.

How else might your body be responding to this place right now?

The surface of your skin or your emotional intelligence might have a response.

Maybe there are parts of your body that feel like they're coming alive or maybe even softening or being receptive or opening,

Just really being watchful here in this relationship.

You engaging with this place.

Allow yourself to feel any messages that may be coming to you from this place.

Maybe it's telling you something about you,

The fact that you were drawn to be with it.

Maybe you have been drawn there before,

Just taking a moment to really feel the relationship that you have with this particular place,

That you in particular have with this place in nature.

It could have been any place,

But it's this place that you ended up.

There's some unique resonance that is there for you,

That is here for you in this place.

Bringing your attention now back into your own body,

What do you notice?

How might you have been stimulated or caused to relax or maybe your heart feels like it has swelled?

Or maybe you have received some kind of insight.

Possibly there was a sense that you looked into a mirror somehow and now you hold something new about your place on the planet,

Your unique way of being,

How you are connected to earth in a way that perhaps you didn't know previous to this time.

Possibly let yourself open to that.

What is the gift that is here from this relationship?

So whatever way is yours,

Taking a moment to give thanks to this place before we move in our imagination back.

Maybe your gratitude comes in a gesture,

A word or a facial expression.

Then you might notice if it seems to be received by the place.

Then finding your way back into your body that is sitting or lying in the place where we started.

Good.

Now finding your breath again as it moves in and out of your body so faithfully,

Just as it does with every other being on the planet.

And seeing if you can find a place in your heart that feels love and gratitude towards yourself for taking this time out and this time to journey into earth's embrace.

Just feel again the place where your body touches the surface you've been lying on or sitting on.

Maybe there's a little movement that now wants to come into your toes or your fingers,

A little touch,

A little stretch.

And with one or two more breaths,

Slowly bring yourself into transitioning towards the rest of your day.

Really take your time here.

And when you feel ready to open your eyes,

You might imagine that as you open your eyelids,

You are receiving light versus going right to seeking with your eyes or straining or pushing.

Really receiving the light and this entire journey.

There may be something you'd like to jot down in your journal so that you remember this journey so that you can reflect on it over time.

Thank you so much for joining me on this journey into nature.

Namaste.

You truly are so gifted with the softest, warmest, safest, mother-like voice. You imagination and skillful (acute) attention to your students/participants/the people you guude through this recording, is outstanding! You and Sarah blondin are my go-to medicine when I need to ground, when I'm struggling with anxiety and sleep, when I need inspiration for my own yoga classes - I am inspired by your words and skill. Thank you. Your voice and words sooth my soul! 🌹

I could really sync into your guidance. Usually guided meditations don't let me fall into focus and floating as I concentrate on what is being said too much leaving me on an intermediate superficial level. Your instructions just came at the right time with the perfect intent to let go and follow you deeper into nature or leaving it at the just right pace to come back to present. Thank you.
