Hi,
This is Jay Cheerer with It's Our Nature,
And I'm so glad you're here with me today as I want to invite you to return to Earth.
I'm recording this as we approach Earth Day,
The 50th anniversary of that holiday this year.
But oh my goodness.
It's been billions of years since our Mama Earth has been supporting life and giving home,
Offering beauty extravagantly,
And giving luscious food and health to its inhabitants.
Shouldn't we be celebrating her every single day with every breath?
Let's take a wander now and see how much healing and peace is available when we return to her embrace.
So please treat yourself to whatever position feels really good to you.
What's your way of meditating today?
Where are you?
Maybe you're outside or in bed laying down or sitting in a comfy chair or sitting upright on your meditation pillow.
Whatever position and place feels good,
Take it.
And we will enter and return to Earth first by returning to our bodies.
So take a deep breath in and allow the exhale to ground you.
Allow it to lengthen to let your vagus nerve remember what it is to de-stress,
To come into presence,
To move out of the mind and into another aspect of your reality.
So taking a deep breath in,
Exhaling a bit longer.
And as you exhale the next time,
Bring your attention to your face,
To your cheeks and jaw.
And notice what's going on there.
Is there a way you can let go?
Maybe by opening your mouth a bit or maybe you sigh and that invites an opening,
A letting go of those very tight jaw muscles that work so hard.
Sometimes we clench our teeth and jaw when there's anxiousness.
So let there be a relaxing here.
And notice whatever part of your body is touching the floor or whatever you're sitting on.
And notice if you can imagine that you are growing roots out of the soles of your feet or out of your tailbone,
Reaching down,
Down,
Down into Earth mama.
Sliding through soil,
Past rocks,
Through moisture or dryness.
And feel as the root tugs just a little bit on your body as it goes down.
Anchoring in,
Saying hello,
Finding yourself in physical connection now with Earth.
From here traveling up your body,
Noticing your calves,
Knees,
Thighs,
Your pelvis with all the internal organs there.
Please notice your heart,
That ever faithful muscle that expands and contracts,
Expands and contracts so many times a day.
It literally does that physically,
But our emotional heart does that as well.
We expand and feel our love and generosity and then we contract sometimes and feel more anxious.
So just noticing the natural rhythm of that.
You might even notice that you can breathe into and out of that heart directly.
Feeling your lungs,
Your chest bring gratitude to your lungs for their capability and ease in breathing right now.
Feeling your shoulders and the energy that might be there right now inside.
And feeling the arms down to the elbows and all the way down into your hands.
Feel the chi that is there in the palms of your hands.
Alive and awake receptors to the world,
Hands that we reach out and touch with and hold with and grasp with and that we receive gifts in and nourishment from Earth.
Feeling your neck and the weight of the skull,
The head,
That active brain.
Feeling your face and letting your eyes relax into their sockets and maybe they turn down.
Feeling your nose,
Your upper lip,
Your ears,
Eyebrows,
The back of your head.
Letting all of that let go.
And with your body here in presence now,
Imagine yourself standing at an overlook,
Maybe a cliff edge that looks down into the expanse of a long and magical canyon with the river flowing through this canyon.
It is springtime now and as you take in the vista,
You see all the vibrancy of the many colors of green.
The river's deep green,
The cottonwood's spring green,
The sycamores bright green,
The grass,
So much verdancy,
So much aliveness,
So much yes to life,
To growth,
To expansion.
The amazing memory in these plants that keeps reaching up to life,
To sun,
Maybe towards spirit,
Imagine that they are reaching up,
Growing further towards that which gives life.
And take these beautiful deep canyon colors now into all your senses and notice the sounds that arise from it.
Do you feel a pull to go in deeper,
To go closer,
To experience it further,
To move down towards the red rocks deep into their embrace,
Into the green perhaps to touch the water,
To hear the birds,
To find what secrets lay in this deep crevice of the mama earth's belly.
So imagine yourself now taking the path down.
There's a path there.
It descends into the canyon.
Take your time stepping carefully on the rock path,
Noticing the butterflies that greet you,
The birds that soar past,
The wind that circles you.
Imagine that there's an umbilical cord that reaches from your belly button down into the depths of that canyon to someplace that is unknown to you and surprising.
And continue to walk feeling the strength of your body,
The solidity of your legs and feet,
The heart that pulls you forward.
Continue to move down,
Down,
Down the path until you stand finally at the water's edge.
There before you is this beautiful green river peacefully flowing by.
Notice whether there's a draw to enter the river or simply to sit and observe it.
Take all the time you need.
Watch this river.
Take the time to hear her voices,
To receive the wisdom that is so naturally exuding from her.
Notice what you see in the river.
Are there leaves or sticks being carried downstream?
Are there animals?
What's that there on the far edge of the river?
Maybe there's animals swimming within the clear waters.
What do you notice?
What messages might be there for you?
Feel free to pause this meditation if you want to stay here longer.
And when you resume,
Imagine yourself coming out of the river's flow,
Pulsing with water on your skin.
Or standing from her grassy edge and continuing now onward,
Being energetically pulled by this umbilical cord.
Taking you further and further up the canyon in delight.
You see the red and orange craggy rocks on the walls now.
All the small cracks and chasms.
The caves,
The dark shadows that hold secrets,
That allure.
And you are walking on a narrow path now with tall green grass on either side of you,
Knee high and beyond,
Speckled with beautiful wildflowers of every color that you can imagine.
With subtle sweet scents entering your nose.
You are walking upriver,
Up canyon.
The river flows down and you watch it as it moves towards you and beyond you.
The river flows and you follow this path that winds and twists and takes you up boulders and down through areas strewn with cactus and trees.
Your eyes are filled with the pink and purple,
The yellow flowers,
The vibrant red Indian paintbrush.
You see more large boulders in the water now.
More and more boulders that the river moves through even as you navigate them on this path as well.
Stopping now as you come to a place where a stand of trees calls to you.
Trees are denser here as if they have invited you to take a rest in their shade.
To lean against their trunks or lay flat and look up through their leaves and pine needles,
Noticing the birds.
This earth that gives us so much beauty.
This earth that we call home,
That we call mama.
So welcoming to us,
Grounding.
So grounding.
She feeds us in a million ways.
Teaching us about beauty,
About the feminine,
About the dark and the light,
The shadow and the bright,
The necessity of all.
The way to live in harmony and to have strong communities to allow the balance to dictate the strength of our ecosystems.
Such a mirror to look into.
You feel a slight breeze moving through now,
Shuttering leaves and shimmering the pine needles,
Brushing the hair across your face,
Touching your cheeks.
Remember to breathe really deeply here,
Allowing your body to meld with each exhale as if it can sink into the earth herself.
Inhale the sky's vastness and with the exhale you are sinking more deeply in.
And as you rest deeper in now,
Let your imagination come alive with the sound of a being entering the small forested area that you rest in.
This may be an ancient wizard or an earthy wise woman,
An animal.
It could be that a winged one flutters in,
Could be a cloud.
Perhaps the tree or trees come alive.
Whatever it is,
Imagine that they come bearing a gift for you.
It may be words or an action,
A gesture,
Or it may be something tangible that this teacher or guide wants to offer you.
Imagine that this guide knows so very much about you and what you struggle with and what your gifts are and it has something for you.
She he it they are approaching you now with something that will be a gift,
A teaching for you,
A healing.
Nothing to rush towards or get anxious about,
Just lay in this receiving mode until something happens and then receive that as the gift.
Even if you don't understand it completely,
Just allow it in.
Maybe it's as simple as a glance of an eye,
A vibrant color.
Maybe it's a touch from an ancestor or a memory placed in your consciousness.
Maybe it's some wisdom of words or a healing touch.
Or maybe it's Earth herself embracing you.
Whatever it is,
Take your time to be with it.
As much or as little as it seems to be,
As empty or as full as this offering appears,
Receive it.
This is a gift from Earth,
Our blessed Mother Earth.
Every day is Earth Day if we allow it to be.
So in whatever way is yours,
In whatever timing is right,
Give thanks to this being,
This place,
This canyon.
Give thanks to your own heart.
This circuit of thanksgiving is so important with our Earth and all of her beings.
And I will leave you to traverse the rest of this journey on your own now.
Maybe it's time to be complete and you can return with me to the rest of your day.
Or maybe you have further to go in this canyon,
Beckoned by the tug of the umbilical cord.
Or maybe you need to dream further into this visitation of the magical being and the gift you've been given.
If emotions have come,
I highly recommend that you allow them to flow like that river.
If there's an invitation to travel further,
Please do.
You are completely safe and held in this place,
In this belly of the Mother.
You are invited to find more of yourself here and to be in sensuous flow of reciprocity with her in gratitude.
Thank you so much for traveling with me into this canyon,
Into our imaginations and our heart's desires.
Trust that as you complete this meditation that your inner ecosystem,
Your immune system,
Your body,
Your faith,
Your heart,
Your joy has been renewed and you can return to the world with health,
Harmony and love.
Bring your body to bring you back into presence in your day now and with great gratitude,
I bid you goodbye and Namaste.

very nice! not only was the content delightful (and open ended enough to be unique to each person and instance) but the recording was clear, crisp and well mastered AND on top of all that, her voice had a comforting timber of wisdom and playfulness.
