Hello,
Friend.
It's Jax,
And I'm so joyful to spend some time with you.
Let yourself slip into the present moment by closing down the eyes wherever you're at.
Take a deep breath in and exhale out through the mouth like you're blowing out of a straw.
Let's do that two more times.
Inhale.
Push the belly out,
Expand the ribcage in the chest,
And exhale out through pursed lips.
Again,
Inhale,
Belly expands,
Ribcage inflates,
Chest rises,
And exhale.
Let it go.
Let it go.
Soften the muscles on the face.
Release the jaw.
Loosen the tongue.
Find space between the lips.
Soothe the forehead,
The eyebrows,
And the eyelids.
Loosen the neck,
The shoulders,
And the belly.
Unwind any tension in the hips,
Thighs,
Knees,
Ankles,
And feet.
Take a deep breath in and release and let it go.
And take a moment here to linger in your breath,
To be with your nice,
Calm,
Easeful inhalations and exhalations.
Now I want you to imagine you're sitting in a warm,
Comfy room.
And in this room,
There are green,
Lush houseplants.
You smell a warm vanilla aroma in the air,
And the soothing,
Warm sunlight scans your body.
And as you sit here,
You look down and you see that your palms are face up.
And in each palm is a small bowl filled with water.
In your left palm is a bowl marked the past.
And as you glance into this bowl,
You see reflections of the past.
And as you linger in the bowl of the past,
You feel your left hand getting heavier and heavier.
And the more time you spend reflecting on the past,
The more time you live in the past,
Your left arm gets stiff,
And you find yourself struggling to keep it lifted.
And then you remember that you cannot change the past.
What you can do is you can allow yourself to see your past for what it is.
You can acknowledge your thoughts and feelings without judgment.
And in this place of non-judgment,
You feel a sense of acceptance for your past.
Remember that accepting your past is not about wanting to change or forget about it.
It's about altering your perception of it so that you can live more freely.
So take a couple of more breaths to honor your past right here,
Right now.
And on your next exhale,
You release the bowl of the past.
You set it down on the floor with love,
And suddenly the bowl disappears.
Your attention now moves to your right palm.
And in your right palm is a bowl marked the future.
And as you glance into this bowl,
You see made-up predictions of how the future will go,
Reflected back at you.
And as you linger in the bowl of the future,
You feel your right hand getting heavier and heavier.
And the more time you spend predicting the future,
Ruminating in the future,
Your right arm gets stiff,
And you find yourself struggling to keep it lifted.
And then you remember things will unfold how they're meant to,
And that most of what we worry about will never actually happen.
You start to feel a sense of trust for your future,
Knowing that things will work out for you.
So you take one more breath to give gratitude to the future.
And on your next exhale,
You release the bowl of the future.
You set it down on the floor with compassion,
And suddenly the bowl disappears.
And as you sit here in this cozy space,
You glance at the wall,
And written on a big sign in your handwriting is the phrase,
Accept the past,
Embrace the future,
And live in the present.
Accept the past,
Embrace the future,
And live in the present.
Accept the past,
Embrace the future,
And live in the present.
Now visualize yourself right now in this moment wherever you're at.
What clothes are you wearing?
What does the room look like that you're in?
Be here now with this next breath.
The present moment is all we have.
And while our past and future are very real concepts,
They are just another aspect of this now.
Know that you are exactly who you need to be and where you need to be in this moment.
Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Friend,
Once again,
This is Jax.
And come back to this meditation anytime you need to put down those bowls of the future and the past to come into this present moment.
You got this.
Keep rocking the rest of your day,
And I'll see you next time.
