Itai Ivtzan, PhD

25 years ago, Itai was climbing a mountain in Yunnan Province, China. It got dark; he lost his way and found himself at the top of the mountain, with only a Buddhist monastery to spend the night. As it turned out, getting lost allowed him to be found – in this monastery, his meditation practice began, and his life transformed. He returned to the Western world with a deep passion for sharing this beautiful meditative practice. His PhD research examined the influence of meditation on psychological wellbeing, and he realized how our hearts open with the practice of meditation. Since then, his work has reached people in many different ways: through scientific research, six books on mindfulness and positive psychology, TED talks, hundreds of meditation retreats, and by training more than 5,000 meditation teachers through his School of Positive Transformation. His teaching of meditation focuses on that incredible gift: finding your voice, your intuition, whatever it is that your heart whispers and asks for. His practice keeps on changing – different life chapters, different meditation techniques – and yet one thing remains constant: teaching meditation fills his heart with joy and fulfillment. May your meditation practice bring you precisely what you need.
