Guided Meditation for Emotional Healing,
The Transformative Fire.
Please come to a tall,
Comfortable seat for this meditation.
Feel free to set it up so that you're comfortable but are able to have an open chest and breathe easily.
Take three deep breaths just to notice how you feel right now.
Relax your shoulders.
Take a moment to let go of whatever's been going on in your day so far and turn your attention inwards to the here and now.
You are sitting in a large,
Beautiful clearing in the woods.
You are surrounded by tall evergreen trees that smell of pine sap and cedar wood.
The air is clear and crisp,
And the sky above you is glittering with stars.
The moon is a perfect sliver in the sky.
It's a beautiful place.
You feel very safe here,
Connected to the earth.
You are also alone here,
But not lonely.
You feel your own presence,
That this is a place where you can feel your feelings and think your thoughts.
It is a place that's just for you.
In front of you,
In the center of the clearing,
Is a large bonfire.
You can feel its warmth from where you sit.
Red,
Orange,
Blue,
And white flames lick the wood burning in the pit.
You can feel the intensity and the power of the fire from here.
You allow your eyes to focus on the dancing flames.
As you do,
Your body relaxes,
And your mind switches to a state of calm focus and rest.
You feel your breath deepening.
It is easy to breathe deeply in this place.
You can feel the breath reaching into the deeper parts of your body,
Your heart,
And your soul.
In this safe space,
You can relax against your breath,
Allowing it to touch you in these deeper places.
As you breathe into your heart,
You allow your emotion to surface with your breath.
What is hiding in your heart and lungs?
There may be sadness,
Grief,
Love,
Hope,
Or anxiety here.
Maybe there are other things as well.
Breathe into your heart and stay present with what you feel in your body.
Don't worry about what these emotions mean or what you should do with them.
That doesn't matter right now.
Simply allow the emotions to arise.
Stay with what you feel.
Some of the emotions coming up through your heart begin to form into translucent threads.
The fire is calling them to it.
This fire is fed by our most painful emotions.
It wants to help us transform these emotions into a different state of energy.
Any emotions that you wish to keep in your body,
You may keep.
But the emotions that are ready to be released,
That are coming up to the surface,
Are able to transform into these thread-like shapes as you allow yourself to feel them.
These threads of emotion are drawn from your heart into the flames.
And you watch as they feed the fire,
Turning into bright energy,
Flame,
And eventually smoke,
Rising to the clear starry night sky.
You continue to breathe into your body,
Perhaps even deeper now,
Into your guts and your pelvis.
You relax into the sensations you feel in your body,
And other emotions may arise.
All kinds of emotions may arise.
Some of them may wish to stay with you,
And that's fine.
But the emotions that are ready to leave your body must be felt and acknowledged by you.
And by feeling and acknowledging them,
You set them free.
They are drawn to the fire.
They want to be transformed.
You continue to sit with the fire,
Feeding it your old emotions,
Your old fears,
The feelings that are not serving you in the present moment.
You feel your body being cleansed through the process of feeling these emotions and being able to let them go.
You sit with the fire as long as you need to,
Allowing it to transform you,
Allowing it to help you let go.
In your own time,
When this process feels complete to you,
You press your hands together and bow to the fire,
Thanking it for taking what you did not need and knowing that you can come back here any time you need to.
Then you will be ready to return to your body in the present moment.
