Create your ideal Safe Space to return to whenever you're feeling anxious or fearful. This is a guided visualization, with the purpose of finding the ultimate "feel good" in your mind. Once you've found it, we will anchor it through a touchpoint, so you can return anytime.

Transcript

Bring yourself into a comfortable position.

You can be sitting or lying down.

Bring yourself into a place of maximum comfort,

Remembering that you are safe in this moment.

If you begin to feel uneasy,

Bring your awareness back to the supportive earth beneath you.

If you feel comfortable,

Begin to bring your eyes either to a close or just slightly open with a soft gaze at nothing in particular.

Breathing into the safety and security of this moment right now.

You can leave any of your worries behind at this time.

There is no use bringing them where we're going.

Begin to increase the length of your inhale and exhale.

Breathing in deeply as your belly expands.

Hold the breath at the top for a moment.

Open your mouth and let the exhale come out with a sigh.

Breathe two more times like this.

Deep inhale into the belly.

Hold it at the top for a second or two.

Exhale and let go of any tension from your shoulders.

One last big inhale.

Hold at the top.

And really let go on this exhale.

Allow your breath to return to normal.

Beginning to feel relaxed now.

Focusing on the rise and fall of your natural breath.

Feeling the space around you as sacred and healing.

I'm going to count from seven to one and with each descending number you will feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed.

Imagine you are floating in the middle of a peaceful pond on a raft of your choosing under the warm and healing sun.

The sun beams bring softness and relaxation to your whole body.

You allow yourself to melt as your skin gratefully soaks up the healing warmth.

You feel the sun's rays bringing relaxation to your toes,

Your feet,

Ankles,

Calves and shins.

The sun beams caress your hips,

Pelvis,

Sacrum and belly button.

Your lower back feels completely at peace.

Three.

You can feel the compassionate warmth relaxing the tension in your belly,

Your spine,

Your heart,

Your collarbones,

Your shoulder blades.

All the way down to the tips of your fingers.

Two.

Your neck and shoulders gratefully melt under the loving heat and you feel it moving up into your throat,

Feeling expansive.

The sun melts the tension in your forehead and all the way up into the crown of your head.

You are completely relaxed and content beneath the loving acceptance of the healing sun.

One.

Your raft begins to pull off into your very own secret cove,

Your safe place.

It could be a place you've been to before that you've felt a deep connection to.

It could be a brand new place or one you escape to in your imagination from time to time.

This place is completely safe.

Allow the details to reveal themselves as you continue to conjure up your ideal safe space in your mind.

In this place,

Only you are allowed.

No one else can join you here unless you invite them.

In this place,

You are always at peace.

You begin to decorate this space so it brings you maximum pleasure and peace.

Notice the color of the sky at your favorite time of day.

Feel the exact perfect temperature on your skin.

Allow your senses to become more and more alive,

Noticing and appreciating all of the subtleties of your very own safe place.

Notice the colors and textures,

The plants and trees.

Allow the elements that bring you the greatest comfort to be here.

Perhaps it's water,

A stream or waterfall,

A forest or meadow,

A fire,

A field or a mountain top.

Each time you revisit your safe place,

It will become more and more beautiful.

Notice what is here today.

Listen to the sounds of safety.

Are there birds singing,

Water flowing or a gentle breeze?

Breathe in the safety,

The peace.

Fear does not exist here.

What does your safe place smell like?

Breathe it in deeply.

Allow yourself to bask in the peace and serenity of this place made just for you.

You can walk around,

Move,

Swim,

Fly or simply create a cozy nest for you to melt into.

This place is your healing sanctuary and you are the creator.

Perhaps you'd like to build some safe spaces with certain healing qualities within your safe place.

You might love a tree house,

A cave or a glass gazebo.

You can plant the medicinal plants you desire and the flowers that bring you joy.

How about a fresh mango tree,

Night blooming jasmine and some wild sweet grass?

Add colors,

Twinkle lights and any creatures or critters that you feel belong there.

You can create little sanctuaries within your safe place for healing and processing various feelings.

Perhaps a waterfall of healing water to wash away fear,

Shame and guilt.

You may envision yourself standing beneath this waterfall,

Gratefully accepting the healing properties as they pour onto the crown of your head and continue to cascade down your body,

Wrapping you in an embrace of free flowing healing.

All is forgiven here.

Whenever you return to your safe place,

You are gifted a fresh start.

You are cleansed and revitalized.

You can let it all go beneath the waterfall.

Let it massage you and bring about a fresh perspective.

When you are finished cleansing,

You step out of the water and find a cozy towel to wrap yourself in.

You feel safe and comfortable.

You continue to explore your expansive safe place.

Feeling your bare feet on the earth below you,

Feeling yourself unconditionally supported.

One foot steps in front of the other,

Noticing what appears in front of you.

In your safe place,

There is a healing garden.

You are coming upon it now and you realize the first step is to weed out what is extraneous and no longer feels relevant in your life.

So you take some time to see and feel into what parts of your life don't fit into this safe place.

Those parts may be ready to be weeded out of your life.

You can spend some time tending to your healing garden in this way.

Remembering that the only things that belong here are things that will aid in your healing.

Anything else can be weeded out and thrown into the recycling bin in the earth,

But will be recycled into unconditional love.

So you can toss out non-reciprocal relationships,

Negative self-talk,

And self-sabotaging behaviors.

You begin to realize that you can plant anything you want.

If you need a remedy for your anxiety or depression,

You can plant it here.

If you would like an elixir for your self-sabotage,

You can plant a tree for that right here in this soil.

Notice what is present for you that you'd like to heal and plant that remedy now.

You can also plant seeds for your hopes and dreams here.

What is it that you'd like your life to look like in a year?

Plant that vision.

It will be watered and nurtured even when you're away.

And when you feel your work is done in the garden for now,

You go for a walk to your favorite place in your whole safe space.

The place where you feel the most held,

Accepted,

And loved.

This may be in the healing waters,

In your treehouse,

Lying in the grassy field under the sun,

Or in your cozy nest.

Relax and settle into your favorite place.

Take in all of the magic and love of your safe space.

And choose a spot on your body to be your anchor or touch point to bring you back here anytime.

It could be the fleshy bit between your thumb and pointer finger.

It could be your hand on your heart.

Or wherever else you feel inclined to anchor this safe space into your body.

Bring your hands to your anchor point now and breathe the essence of your safe place in deeply.

Exhaling and relaxing entirely.

Breathing in love,

Harmony,

Peace,

And safety.

Breathing out stress and fear.

This safe space is with you always.

Anytime you'd like to come back,

Simply touch your anchor point and you'll be right back here.

Stay here as long as you'd like,

Soaking in all of the goodness.

When you'd like to return to the outside world again,

We'll begin counting up to seven.

When you reach the number seven,

Your eyes will open and you will feel awake,

Alert,

Safe,

And at peace.

One.

Inhale deeply.

Belly expands.

Two.

Exhale completely.

Relax.

Three.

Deep inhale,

Re-energizing your body and mind.

Four.

Exhale,

Releasing any remaining tension.

Five.

Belly rises a lot,

Feeling more alive now.

Six.

Total exhale,

Belly falls.

You are safe and peaceful.

Seven.

Congratulations.

You successfully created a gorgeous safe place to retreat to whenever life feels hard.

You have your anchor point now.

Go ahead and touch it and let it take you back to your safe place for a moment just to feel how it works.

When you release your anchor,

You'll still feel safe and peaceful.

Use this as often as you'd like and return often.

You can go back and explore more around your safe place if you'd like.

I will go and leave you to it.
