You are capable more than you give yourself credit for.
Difficult emotions may sometimes get the best of you,
But they always pass and you always make it through them.
By bringing mindfulness to the process of going through hard times,
You can train yourself to recognize your own resilience.
Through this meditation,
We will remind ourselves clearly that we are capable of handling the difficult times.
So close your eyes,
Adjust your posture so that you're comfortable,
Ground yourself into your body,
Feeling your feet on the floor,
Your body in your chair or your cushion,
And then start to notice the movement of your breath.
Take slow,
Controlled inhales and exhale.
Now let's bring to mind a difficult emotion that you may have experienced recently.
Don't indulge in the story.
Instead,
I want you to focus on the feeling.
Now let's begin to tune into our body.
What does your body feel when this emotion is present?
Feel the emotion in your body and explore the capacity to be with the emotion.
What starts to feel overwhelming or unmanageable?
And ask yourself if you're able to even handle the feeling at this moment.
And if you can't,
It's okay to log off and try again at a later time.
But when you're ready,
Just feeling what the emotion invokes inside of your body.
Now let's move your attention to your mind.
When this emotion is present,
What is your mind doing?
Notice the thoughts that arise and the general feeling that rushes through your mind.
Let's take some time to reflect on the pains and difficulties that you've gone through in your life.
It may get uncomfortable,
Remember to breathe.
Breathe.
Continue to focus on the difficulties you've gone through in your lifetime.
It may have been a lot,
It may have been a little.
Through these frustrations and experiences of grief and of tragedy,
Remember that you have made it to this moment today.
Recognize your resiliency and remember that you are indeed capable of getting through.
Now take a deep breath,
Hold it.
Now let out a nice,
Comforting sigh of relief.
You've got this.
You've made it through other hard times.
You'll make it through this one.
Thank you so much for joining me in today's meditation and have a good rest of the day on purpose.
