I'm Iris van Ooyen and I will guide you through a grounding activation to help you be more focused and more centered.
And that's especially important if you spend a lot of time behind your computer or in meetings or otherwise using your brain.
Place both your feet firmly on the floor and allow yourself to sit back.
Unless you're sitting in lotus position,
Rest your back against the chair or the couch that you're sitting on.
And feel the weight of your feet resting on the floor.
And give yourself full permission to be present here in this activation,
Knowing that you can leave your to do list by the door and you can return to it later.
Give yourself the gift of these minutes of self-care time.
And if you want,
You can place a hand on your lower belly to deepen your breathing.
And with every exhale,
Send your energy,
Your awareness to your feet,
To the earth beneath you.
And feel how with every exhale,
You become a little bit more aware of your physical body.
Let any excess energy in your head slowly trickle down.
Spread itself evenly throughout your physical body.
And trust things that the energy knows where it's needed.
And then return your focus to your feet.
Feel how they're resting on the floor.
And know that you are connected with this planet,
This earth that we live on.
And now imagine that from the soles of your feet,
Roots are growing into the earth,
Just as if you were a tree.
Let these roots grow downward.
Let them grow sideways.
Creating a fast network of roots that is allowing you to be more centered,
More grounded.
Just imagine you are a big oak tree,
Knowing that the bigger the oak,
The bigger the activity that's going on above the surface.
The broader the branches,
The more leaves,
The more important the network of roots becomes.
To not only provide a counterweight to whatever is present above the surface,
But also to ensure proper nourishment,
Proper support.
And the same goes for you.
The more ground you are,
The more you are present.
And the more present you are,
The more easy it is to focus and be in the flow.
The longer you can concentrate.
Feel how your feet continue to get more and more heavy.
Perhaps your calves start to tingle.
Allow yourself to feel your body.
Feel how heavy it is becoming.
And I'd like us to take a few deep breaths in together to deepen our grounding and to ensure that we're present here in this moment with all of our energy,
Attention and focus.
Take a deep breath in.
And let it out.
Breathe in.
And release.
Final deep breath in together.
And let it out.
And feel how you're sitting or standing here.
Feel the weight of your body.
Know that you've given yourself a moment of self-care,
A moment to give you what you need so you're ready to go on with the rest of your day.
Bring your focus back to your feet,
How they're resting on the floor.
Bring all of your energy,
All of your awareness back here into this moment,
Into this activation.
Wiggle your toes and your fingers.
You can stretch your arms,
Your legs.
Rotate your shoulders.
And whenever you're ready,
You can open up your eyes.
