Cultivating holistic health means integrating optimal choices regarding physical nourishment,

Mental health,

And your connection with nature and with spirit,

All of which will enhance our daily experience and to manifest your true self in the world.

Okay,

So when we hear the phrase health,

We tend to imagine a compartmentalized version of what health is.

Holistic health incorporates all aspects of the human being.

But what do we actually mean when we say holistic health?

How does it differ from health in general?

In other words,

How is an approach in holistic health different from just the idea of health?

Personally,

I think the conventional idea of health,

It's really not in healing the problem,

But it's like tapping into some of the symptoms where holistic health,

You kind of break down the source of the problems,

Create new habit patterns,

And figure out holistic ways or natural ways that you can heal yourself from the inside out.

So holistic health to me is like getting in touch back into your natural state.

And your natural state is one of peace,

Harmony,

The ability to heal yourself naturally.

Holistic health is getting in touch with the source through food,

Through nature,

Through rest.

You know,

When you go outside,

You get vitamin D.

It promotes your vision and recharges your body.

You get fresh air.

It allows you to breathe,

Clear your mind from all those impurities.

It allows your mind to think clearly.

And I know,

I'm sure we're gonna talk about grounding as well,

Right?

Getting in touch with the earth,

Taking off your shoes and allowing your feet and hands and your body to touch the earth,

The sand,

The dirt and the grass.

I think,

You know,

Holistic health is just being.

You don't have to tell a tree how large to grow.

You know,

It just does it.

Your body has a capability to heal itself if you allow it.

And you know,

Practicing peace of mind is big on this.

It allows for stress to decrease and it allows nature to run its course.

So for me guys,

I actually kind of went back and I like to see the definition of the word because there's a lot of words that sometimes when they define the,

You know,

Their combination of multiple words,

As I said,

And I said that I'm holistic by OcFo,

Is the treatment of the whole person taking into account the mental,

The social factors rather than only the symptoms of a disease.

So it's not only taken into consideration the physical manifest of that particular human being,

But you know,

The whole person,

The stress,

The environment where he lives in,

What he eats,

And most of you guys mentioned that.

Now,

You know,

Holistic for me is actually one of those new words that I kind of discovered through the years.

And I personally can see that I did,

You know,

Physical health,

Mentally health,

And spiritual health are kind of the three main cores to define a human being.

It's almost like when I analyze mechanics in a car,

It's electrical combustion and metal to metal.

And those are the three items to break down mechanics.

So when I see those all factors combined and holistic,

It totally makes sense.

I personally lack for the physical health.

I try to keep myself checked with my mental health and my spiritual health,

But of course,

I'm not only on top of it thinking that if I have a good diet or I'm eating the right nutrition and food for nourish myself.

So I mean,

When I think about holistic health,

I think it includes all that gamma,

You know,

And more that I learn about it,

More that I look at it,

It's a style of life that,

You know,

It's a weight of life.

Yeah,

I think you all pretty much got that.

I mean,

I totally agree with everything you all are saying.

I think the words that popped up when I thought when the holistic health was mentioned were integration,

Harmony,

And balance,

And like not neglecting any of the parts of yourself,

Because for you to be totally healthy,

You have to be aware of all of them and how they integrate and work together.

Multidimetric health is inherently speaking about the multidimensional aspect of your life and well-being.

At the first,

This seems like a lot to remember and focus on.

Physical,

Mental,

Socially,

Spiritual,

Emotionally,

Natural,

And diet.

How can we as individuals set our life up to success by managing a holistic approach to ourself instead of an idea that separates that I don't touch it?

I think it's hard to do.

It's easy to talk about and it's easy to theorize about,

But actually putting it into action is hard unless you have some help or some support,

Just because there's going to be certain things that,

Certain parts of your health that you're going to focus on at different times or you might be better at doing.

Like you were just saying,

You pay a lot of attention to your mental and your spiritual health,

But you might not pay as much attention you want to your physical health.

Social health is another one.

I feel like a lot of times we get dragged out in different directions because of the things that life throws in front of us,

Whether it's our work,

Whether it's our family,

Whether it's our friends,

Whether it's our partner.

There's all these things that are going on around you where you can't,

Or you find it hard to be able to focus on all these parts that make up your entire holistic health,

Integrated into your,

Everything that makes up your being.

So I don't know.

I think it's hard to do.

It's hard to manage.

It's not something that comes easy,

But with some effort and some support,

It can be done in a way where you do find some sort of balance where,

You know,

You might be able to become more aware of what part is getting out of balance to make the whole out of balance.

But I think it just takes some awareness and takes some time and takes some effort,

But it definitely takes all those things to happen.

Yeah,

I kind of agree with Ali where,

You know,

It is pretty hard to have a balance in,

You know,

Trying to be holistically healthy.

Y'all know,

We were going through some stuff with our dad where,

You know,

You never know what life,

What curve balls life is going to throw your way.

So you know,

We may want to wake up at a certain time,

Get this done for our mental health,

Get this done for our physical health,

Eat this type of food and stuff like that.

But you know,

Life,

As I can always say,

Has ups and downs and you never know what life is going to throw your way.

So you know,

I think that one of the good things is,

Is,

You know,

Being able to be mindful of kind of like what Ali said,

Where you're lacking in life and then having techniques that or practices or different foods or,

You know,

Whatever to address that part of your life that you know that's lacking the most that you need to nourish.

Because,

You know,

Like I said,

Man,

Life always has a way when you think that you're easing through life to throw a curve ball your way and,

You know,

Throw your whole schedules off.

But,

You know,

I guess it's all dependent on,

You know,

How you respond to the curve balls and then being able to be present enough and mindful to know what you need to work on on the limited time that you do have in the 24 hours in a day.

Yeah,

Those curve balls you're talking about,

You know,

Reminds me of a quote by,

You know,

This amazing philosopher,

Mike Tyson.

He says,

Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

Right?

And when I think of that,

It's like,

We can definitely build routines and habits that will help us with this plan and will help us kind of put a guard around it and say,

These are the things that I won't compromise on and these are things that are really important,

But it's still very difficult.

Right?

There's another quote by this book called Atomic Habits,

Really good one.

The author is James Clear.

You do not rise to the level of your goals,

You fall to the level of your systems.

So if you have a system around this holistic health,

And I think,

Ahmed,

You mentioned hanging with the masters and if you have a group,

Maybe a cohort that you could all check in with and really hold each other accountable,

I would say put holistic health into this framework,

Awareness,

Measurement,

Optimization,

Have fun and mindset.

If you're aware of what you're putting into your body,

You're aware of the exercises that you do,

If you measure it on a daily basis or a weekly basis,

You can then adjust it,

You can then optimize it,

You put a bow on top of it by having fun and you just have that mindset of you're not going to get everything right,

But you're in the right direction.

Using that framework,

I think will help with this holistic health.

I think this is so difficult because we're human and that's what we were talking about a couple minutes ago,

We will lack of something.

I think actually the hardest part is to recognize it because this became like a self-critic.

You know,

You're looking yourself and you're saying,

Well,

I'm not doing this right.

And sometimes we cannot see that ourselves.

You know,

We like not to criticize our own behavior.

So I think this is really hard to be able to see yourself in the department that you're lacking for and,

You know,

Put more effort to that front store design window.

You know,

Somehow you need to kind of fix that.

For me personally,

I'm not perfect here.

I guess it took me years to realize which ones that I'm lacking and I'm not even know a hundred percent.

So it's just,

I guess it's like the continual learning experience is,

Is,

Is,

Is a,

I guess we never stopped this.

And like what you and Bernard were just saying,

Juan,

Just having empathy towards yourself when you do not live up to the standards that you've set.

Just because,

You know,

I think Ali said in one of these other audio tracks about,

You know,

Us being our own worst critic when we set goals and don't meet them,

You know,

That could really eat us up.

So,

You know,

I think when you're trying to practice optimal holistic health,

It's very important to make sure that you have empathy towards yourself.

So,

You know,

You don't beat yourself up and make yourself more unhealthy,

Judging yourself,

Beating yourself up.

Yeah.

Cause you have like optimal holistic health and baseline holistic health.

Like what are the minimal things I need to do to survive and keep myself balanced?

And like you were talking about B like you have your,

Your things where you have it all in line,

You have it all going,

You put your bow on the top,

You're having fun with it,

But sometimes life doesn't allow for that.

So you need to know what your baseline is to function and be as healthy as you can through those,

Those really,

Really tough spots in your life.

And then kind of move out from there when you do have the time.
