I welcome you to this mindfulness practice of gratitude.

The dictionary defines gratitude as the quality of being thankful or the readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

During tough times,

It can be hard to be thankful.

Today's practice is to shift your perspective into gratitude.

I now invite you to take a comfortable seat,

Sitting upright in a chair or lying down,

Or anything that feels right to you.

I invite you to close your eyes and to really settle into yourself.

Let's take three deep breaths in through our nose and out through our mouth.

And let's begin with breath one,

In through our nose and out through our mouth.

Allowing yourself to sink deeper into relaxation.

And breath two,

In through your nose and out through your mouth.

Allowing yourself to sink deeper into relaxation.

And now breath three,

In through your nose and out through your mouth.

Allowing yourself to sink deeper and deeper into relaxation.

You can now invite normal breathing to return.

And as normal breathing returns,

I want you to keep your attention and your focus on your breath right now.

Really feel what it feels like in your body.

Take any notes of any sensations that you might be feeling.

Take note how deep your breath might be.

And where you might be feeling your breath.

Is it in your belly?

Or is it in your chest?

I will now allow a few moments for you to really take note of your breath right now.

I now invite you to give thanks to your breath.

As you inhale and exhale,

Say thank you.

Inhale,

Thank you.

Exhale.

Thank you.

Inhale.

Thank you.

Exhale.

Thank you.

Inhale.

Thank you.

Exhale.

Thank you.

I now invite you to place your hand on your heart.

Take a moment and note your heartbeat.

Take any note of the rhythm and the pace.

And as you continue to keep your hands on your heart,

As you feel each beat,

I want you to say thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Bring your awareness now towards your entire body.

I want you to think about how your body functions without you having to ask or even realize it.

Keeping your hands on your heart,

I want you to now give thanks to your body.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

If it wasn't for our body functioning in the way that it does,

We would not have breath,

We would not have a heartbeat,

And we would not be alive.

Gratitude practice can be something that starts off small.

The more that you say what you're grateful for,

The more you will attract to you.

If lately things have been turbulent,

And your perspective is unsure of what you can be thankful for,

You at least can be thankful for your breath,

For your heartbeat,

And for your body.

When you are ready,

You can come back into your space.

You can open your eyes and continue your day.

I thank you for meditating me today.

Sending love and light to all.
