Peace and space and blessings and movement.
My name is Jonathan Stalls with Intrinsic Paths.
I identify as he,
His,
LGBTQI+.
I'm recording this movement meditation invitation from a public park on the sacred lands of the Arapaho in the Cheyenne in Denver,
Colorado.
I'm here to share with you a story that I've been working on for a long time.
I've been working on a book called,
The I'm here to share with you a story that I've been working on for a long time.
You will hear the sounds of birds,
Traffic,
Airplanes.
In the background,
I invite you to acknowledge and honor the unique sounds in your unique environment.
This invitation leans into having another person with you,
One other,
A friend,
A family member,
A peer,
A neighbor.
They can be physically with you as you both listen to this meditation independently or perhaps together as you start your movement.
This could also be done with two people listening over the phone together.
This could also be done energetically inviting and bringing someone into your awareness and consciousness as you move.
There are no rules.
Make it yours.
If you are not yet already outside,
Ready to move,
I invite you to pause this meditation and make time for getting outside.
Even if it's just standing outside,
Sitting outside.
This invitation is inclusive to moving on a wheelchair or powered stroller.
The main essence unhurried movement,
Attentive,
Patient,
Open movement.
So once you are outside,
I invite you to find your way,
If you can,
To a nearby tree as we begin,
As we ground,
As we open.
If you are with somebody physically,
You might find your own tree or you might find your own unique spot under the same tree.
And together,
Let's take some deep breaths honoring our bodies as they are moving from our minds into our hearts,
Into our stomachs and knees and toes.
Grounding with the earth,
Grounding with the reaching of branches,
Grounding with the openness of the sky.
Let's breathe deeply in.
And slowly out.
Let's breathe in wonder and curiosity and openness deeply in.
Slowly out.
Let's breathe deeply in worthiness,
Self-compassion,
Truth-telling,
Honesty deeply in.
Let's breathe out spacious listening,
Dignity of the other person we are with,
The other person we are inviting into this space with us,
Alongside of us.
So let's do that again.
Our own self-compassion,
Truth-telling and dignity deeply in.
And dignity out,
Spacious listening out,
Believing the best in who we are with,
Deeply out.
When you feel ready,
I invite you to slowly begin moving and I invite you to,
With your partner,
With the person you are with,
To be moving alongside of each other,
Shoulder to shoulder,
Hip to hip,
Unique idiom next to unique idiom,
Slowly moving.
And if you are inviting somebody energetically,
I invite you to imagine them slowly moving next to you.
And let's ground in our movement for a minute or two,
Inviting the wonder of the natural world around us,
Inviting the trees to open our hearts like the branches reach for more nourishment.
And as the branches reach into the spaces between,
So do our hearts,
So do our bodies,
So do our ideas of the other and even of ourselves.
Slowly moving,
Existing,
Breathing.
We honor our bodies as they are.
Moving and opening.
And we acknowledge the breeze and the wind that meets our skin.
We look up to the sky and the mystery of the sun and the stars of sunsets and sunrises.
The way clouds change and dance and express themselves.
We honor movement.
We honor movement alongside our friend,
Our peer,
This unique person that's next to us,
Their experiences,
Their journey.
And we honor our own experiences,
Journey.
And we move with humility and patience and space.
That we invite the trees and the sky and the soil and the movement of our bodies in and of itself to help us,
To help see us,
To help honor us,
To help us find our way.
To a more honest,
Open,
Vulnerable and tender time.
In this movement,
We bring our attention to the energy and the vibration between our moving bodies.
What wisdom,
What stories,
What kind of nourishment might be making its way through our pores,
Through our skin,
Through our limbs as they move,
Through our hearts,
Through our intuition,
Our guts,
Our knees,
Our feet.
Like roots of trees,
What might be communicating,
What might be speaking,
What might be opening underneath my moving feet or wheelchair through and under the soil to the unique movement,
Feet and wheelchair of the person that's next to me,
That's next to you.
So we invite in our movement as we continue to believe the best in each other,
To be tender to our own stories and truths.
To be tender to the stories and truths of the other.
We also invite courage to be honest and vulnerable.
As we share and offer our aches,
Our lived experiences,
Our complex attempts to put words to what goes on in our heart and our body.
We also honor and create space,
Spacious listening for the aches and truths of the other as they are shared and offered.
And that when we need to,
We guide each other to stop,
To pause,
To deeply breathe as a way to reground and to honor our movement that we are moving forward together,
That we are honoring the spaces between what we feel or deem is right or wrong.
We honor the roots underneath our feet and our wheelchairs.
We invite the trees and the sky and the water and the air.
So I invite you to pause for a moment together.
Let's take a couple deep breaths honoring this invitation to be in intentional,
Humble and courageous movement with another being.
So we breathe that in deeply and we breathe in courage and tenderness deeply in.
Slowly out.
We breathe in curiosity and movement deeply in.
Slowly out self compassion all the way in.
And self compassion slowly out.
I invite you and your walking moving partner to continue to open,
To share,
To be vulnerable,
And to listen and to breathe and to coexist in this complex unique life journey.
Peace and space and grace and courage and truth telling and vulnerability and messy,
Messy,
Humble time to each of you.
Into the spaces between.
Peace.
You.
