Welcome,
My friend.
This meditation is intended to help you when making decisions.
Rather than looking outside of ourselves for the right answer,
We have the opportunity to turn inward and listen to our body,
Our mind,
Our soul.
So take a few moments and get as comfortable as you need.
You may want to shift around,
Getting any extra energy out.
You can do this meditation seated or laying down,
Any place that allows you to feel supported,
To become still,
And allow your mind to be quiet.
Once the body feels comfortable,
Start to take some slow,
Deep breaths,
Maybe taking a few where you breathe in through your nose and breathe out through your mouth.
Find a natural rhythm to your breath,
Allowing your breath to move freely through your body.
When the body is relaxed and the breath is steady,
See if you can settle a little bit more into this moment,
Giving yourself this time to be present,
To be still,
Continuing to breathe,
Continuing to relax.
Notice the sensations in your physical body.
Notice the sensations with your breath.
And thoughts will come and thoughts will go,
But allow that chatter that moves through your mind to just settle,
To just become a little quieter.
Imagine your whole being coming into this beautiful state.
You feel at peace.
You feel neutral.
You feel comfort.
You feel still.
The mind and body,
The breath,
Everything is at peace.
And when you are ready,
Start to focus all of your attention on the decision in your mind.
What are you currently contemplating or working through?
What is it that you need to decide?
Allow this to become a question in your mind and ask yourself this question,
Repeating it twice.
Now imagine yourself saying yes to this question.
You're choosing yes.
You're choosing to answer this question in one specific way.
And as you say yes,
What happens in your body?
What are the sensations that arise as you say yes?
Does your body feel more expansive?
Does your body contract?
Did your breath change as you said yes?
Do you feel light?
Or did a heaviness begin to appear?
As you answer yes in your mind,
Notice how your body responds.
Now let's let that go.
Come back to a state of neutral.
Take a deep cleansing breath in through your nose and exhale out of your mouth.
Let yourself pause in the stillness,
Feeling calm and ease in body and breath and mind.
Now come back to the question once more,
The decision at hand.
Recognize your question.
Repeat it twice in your mind.
And this time,
The answer is no.
You're taking the other direction,
The opposite path.
As you answer no,
Notice what happens in your body.
Are there sensations in the belly,
The chest,
The arms,
The hands?
Does this no feel like a possibility,
An opportunity?
Or does it feel like something holding you back?
Take your time.
Sit with a sensation of no.
Notice what's happening inside your body.
Be a witness to what's occurring.
And then let yourself come back to a state of neutral.
A state of calm,
Taking a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Oftentimes,
Our body knows the answer before our mind.
So when you create this sense of stillness,
A moment to pause and pay attention,
When you slow down and ask yourself these questions,
These decisions that need to happen,
Sensations will arise.
Feelings in the body may come up.
And your body can help to guide your decisions.
In these moments of pause,
Of breath,
Of stillness,
Our body can hold the answers.
So give yourself both the time and the permission to trust what your body is telling you.
To listen to what is happening deep inside of you.
What are the decisions you need to make?
How does it feel when you say yes?
How does it feel when you say no?
Let's take a deep breath in through the nose and gently exhale out of the mouth.
Take a moment to thank your body for its inner wisdom,
For the guidance it holds.
And when you're ready,
You may open your eyes,
Coming back into your surroundings,
And remembering you can return to this guidance,
This awareness,
At any point in your day.
