As the transition is made to go into formal meditation practice,
And even then off the cushion throughout the day,
I find it very helpful to acknowledge,
Recognize,
And accept whatever is going on as it is,
Instead of coming out of the gate,
Guns blazing,
Trying to make things happen quickly,
Like in the ways of the world.
So we can see how this can be of obvious benefit,
Not struggling or pushing against something that isn't there,
Trying to make it happen artificially.
We gain patience in that trying to do things quicker and artificially.
There's a sense of extra energy and effort being wasted.
We don't get too complacent and lazy either.
It's about balancing that and trying to get to the finish line before I've even started the race to,
Yeah,
I can be a motivating factor,
But it's out of line with reality.
It's not recognizing I'm not at the finish line right now,
I'm at the start,
Or I'm this part of the race to.
So seeing clearly how things actually are and being okay with that,
I find can help ease the heart.
Instead of living in the result or projecting myself in the result are all the different things that are different from the energetic felt sense of how it actually is right now.
And however it is,
We start from where we are.
We are where we are,
Not anywhere else.
And that simple recognition,
Acknowledgement,
And acceptance is very helpful for then patiently progressing on progress or being open to things actually happening quicker.
But when I lose sight of this notion,
Then there seems to be an uneasiness,
A disorientation.
