The most basic spiritual right of every living being is to be cared for and honored.
But to do this is a high art.
And it requires that I have the eyes to see beyond good and bad,
Beyond the judgment of right and wrong.
It requires that I have the eyes to see,
Even beyond nationality and gender,
To the core identity of every living being.
I imagine that I'm sitting on a high mountain top,
Relaxed and calm,
Able to see everyone in the world moving about below me.
And in this moment,
The most beautiful thing happens.
All judgment,
All bitterness,
All opinions are removed from me.
And as I look at all the different people and races and nationalities and religions,
All of a sudden I'm able to see so much deeper,
That tucked inside of all those different costumes of the bodies.
I am able to recognize every single being is a child of God and that each one of them has their perfect place in the universe.
Even the villain has its own function of inspiring me to take action and emerge my own goodness.
Every single being is on their own journey.
And when I can see this,
I am able to honor people regardless of their story,
Regardless of what they're doing.
I am able to see with deeper eyes and that is the secret to spiritual dignity.
Today,
When I return to the world,
I will practice seeing everyone as a pure child of God.
I will practice remembering that whether I am looking at a homeless man or a CEO of a company,
There is a soul inside that body that is pure,
Divine,
Eternal,
And worthy of being seen,
Acknowledged,
And valued.
