Center the mind.
We live in a world of action where the mind is bombarded with an endless stream of information.
The five senses constantly bring data from the outside world to the mind.
Sometimes it is easy to lose focus,
To get lost in a plethora of ideas and stimuli,
Of the facts and figures that we are fed daily.
Let me take some time out to care for the mind.
Just like any machine needs attention and proper maintenance to keep it working well,
So too my mind needs peace,
Silence and needs for me to speak to it as a good friend.
To reorientate my mind,
I remember the deepest and the most important aspects that give direction and meaning to my life.
I ask myself,
Who am I?
Where am I going?
What is truly important to me?
What do I value the most?
And I know that the answers to these questions are already inside me.
I just have to listen,
To listen to my own inner wisdom.
As my mind reflects upon these questions,
It is uplifted,
Taken above and beyond the mundane and profane thoughts of daily life.
It is cleansed of the influences of the day,
Of comments and opinions that have pulled or pushed me in one direction or another.
And so I am free.
My thoughts are centred upon the most valuable assets I have,
And that is my peace of mind,
The happiness I have in my heart,
And my capacity to share love and respect with those around me.
I choose to live from this sacred space within me.
The only things I own are these inner treasures,
And these are my safety and the gifts that I distribute around me throughout the day.
