Self-compassion meditation.
I invite you now to sit comfortably and quietly.
Gently close your eyes if you're comfortable to do so.
Or engage a soft gaze towards the floor.
Just become aware of your breath as you slowly inhale and exhale.
Notice the sensation of your feet on the ground and your hands on your lap.
Allow the muscles in your legs to let go and relax as you sink into the chair.
Become aware of your shoulders letting go of any tension of the day.
As you give yourself permission to become more relaxed and at ease with each breath you take.
Let's take a moment now to be kind and compassionate to ourselves.
Knowing that doing so has a profoundly positive impact on our wellbeing.
We know how good it feels to be kind and compassionate to our friends and how good it makes them feel.
So now we show ourselves that same compassion as we say.
May I be safe.
May I be peaceful.
May I be happy.
May I be well.
It feels good to be kind to ourselves.
The kinder we are to ourselves the better we feel.
And the better we feel the more confident we become.
You could place your hands now on your heart area or give yourself a big hug as together we say these words.
I am enough.
I am loved.
I am special.
I am perfect just as I am.
I love myself.
The more compassion we can show ourselves the more loved we feel.
We are indeed our own best friend and supporter no matter what happens.
So let's say again.
I am enough.
I am loved.
I am special.
I am perfect just as I am.
I love myself.
Just take a few moments now to notice how good it feels to nurture yourself.
And once again become aware of your breath.
Your breath nourishes your body with oxygen and you nourish your heart and mind with words of kindness and self compassion.
You are indeed your own best friend and can use these words daily as a reminder of just how important special and loved you are.
