Saraswati is the deity and energy of wisdom, speech, creativity, learning, and clarity. She is often depicted with the instrument veena (creativity and music), a swan (purity), and scrolls or books (wisdom). She represents the sacred voice within. Tuning into her energy through mantra helps us to connect with clarity, creativity, inner knowing, and our truth. As we chant Oṃ aiṃ Sarasvatyai Namaḥ, we honour her energy: Oṃ representing the primordial sound, aiṃ is her bija or seed mantra connecting with insight, Sarasvatyai meaning salutations to Saraswat, I, and Namaḥ meaning salutations or bow. Let this mantra be an offering. Tune into the creative current and your inner truth.

Welcome to this mantra practice where we tune into Saraswati's energy.

Saraswati is the deity of wisdom,

Speech,

Learning,

Creativity,

Music and inner knowing.

She is often depicted with an instrument called the veena,

Scrolls or books,

A swan and a lotus.

Chanting to her helps us to connect with clarity,

Creativity and our inner knowing.

I'll be chanting the words Om Aum Saraswati Ae Namaha 108 times.

During the practice,

Tune into Saraswati's energy that also lies within you.

Feel free to join in,

Repeat the words out loud or mentally,

Or sit in the vibration of the sound.

At the end of the 108 rounds,

There will be a moment of silence before I chant Om three times to end the session.

May this mantra bring you clarity,

Help you to tune into your creativity,

Awaken your intuition and honour your truths within.

Come into a comfortable seated position and please make sure your body is supported where it needs to be supported.

Maybe sit on something,

Have something for your back,

Maybe for your head.

Be comfortable.

And when you're ready,

Bring a little bit of length in your spine and allowing your body to be soft with strength.

You can close your eyes so you can stare at a point in front of you.

Take a moment here to settle your body and allow your breath to become slow and steady.
