The Art of Letting go is one of the most important life skills. It is also at the center of all Spiritual Paths. As we let go of the old, of what no longer serves us, or that which gives us suffering, we also make space for the new.

Getting in your comfortable position and closing your eyes and starting to take a few deep breaths deeper than normal.

And every time you exhale,

Start to relax all the muscles in the body like this a few times.

So just taking these few breaths where every exhale is a little bit like a silent sigh of relief.

Both emotional but also physical where your muscles can relax however much they want to.

It's very easy.

We just breathe a bit deeper have that slight intention on the outbreath and everything else happens relaxation happens and as you continue to breathe this way without changing anything just notice how your body answers to this way of letting go and notice that it is a way of letting go.

It is more of an undoing than a doing.

And now let your breath go back to normal be spontaneous and simply bring all of your attention inside of your right hand and observe it.

Feel it loose,

Relaxed and let go.

Now gently move your attention up through the right wrist into the right forearm,

Elbow and upper arm and feel it.

Very simply observe the physical sensations and let go.

Now gently move your awareness up into the right shoulder and again feel it.

Notice the bones,

The muscles and gently and simply let go.

Let go.

Now gently move your attention up into the neck area and again move the attention around to feel it to pick up and observe the physical sensations and you're not really interacting with the area you're not giving any commands or instructions you're simply visiting and observing and your mere presence without interaction is a form of letting go.

Now gently move your awareness,

Your attention down into the left shoulder and again feel it.

Feel it loose and relaxed and let go.

And then gently move your awareness down into the left arm,

Elbow and forearm and again feel it.

Notice the physical sensations and let go.

Now gently move your attention through the wrist and into the left hand and again feel it.

Feel it loose,

Relaxed.

Again,

Just letting it go,

Letting it be as if you were putting it down and just letting it rest.

Now gently expand your attention,

Your awareness from your hand to the entire circle of relaxation you've been through observing it and feeling it as one and letting that relaxation from the circle expand to all of your body inside and outside and just observing your body and noticing how letting go is a form of surrender and giving permission to all of the muscles in the body to surrender,

Surrender as your body becomes more and more relaxed.

Now take a deep in breath and hold your breath mentally counting to five then exhale slowly mentally saying body relaxation,

Body relaxation.

And now simply observe and perceive your body all at once as one.

Notice it in this deeper state of relaxation and become aware that all that you have done in order to reach this deeper state of relaxation was observe and let go.

Notice that,

That it's more like an undoing or a not doing.

And as you observe the relaxation in which your body is also notice that when you let go of something,

Of anything you also let go of the results,

Of the outcome.

Notice that.

When you observe a muscle and let go you don't decide to which extent it will relax or if it will relax at all.

You simply let go.

And then relaxation happens however much it wants to.

Now gently let your mind move towards an area of your life or a situation in your life in which you are feeling pressure,

Excessive pressure,

Extreme pressure or just uncomfortable.

Notice that and let that situation come into view.

Perhaps in your very relaxed body notice which parts of the body tense up,

Which organs,

Which muscles and notice the connection between that physical tension and patterns of thought in the mind.

Even if you can't pinpoint exactly what the thought patterns are,

You can still notice that those tensions come from the mind.

And now notice and realize that there is a new internal arrangement,

Mental,

Physical,

That is better suited to deal with that situation.

And if you can identify something,

An idea,

A person,

A situation,

Something that you know is appropriate for you to let go of,

I want you to see it right in front of you,

Separated from you,

Detached.

And if you don't know exactly what that is,

Just let that sensation of whatever that you may need to let go be in front of you as a mystery,

As an energy.

And just observe it for a moment.

Now,

Be ready to let go and remember what that situation will do or that energy will do is not up to you.

It can go quickly,

Slowly,

Or it may have other things to teach you.

We don't know.

But what we do know is that by letting go of anything that you don't need,

You reduce tensions in the mind and tensions in the body.

So now,

As per magic,

Imagine that energy,

That situation,

That thing.

Concentrate inside of a balloon that you're now holding by a string.

And it's one of those balloons that wants to float towards up,

Like the helium balloons,

And you're just holding it from the string.

And you can already feel lighter,

Clear,

Because that energy is now not within you,

But contained and separate.

And observe it,

Look at it,

And thank it for all that it is teaching you or has taught you.

And some of the lessons may be apparent to you now,

And some of the lessons you may realize later on in life.

And now,

After having thanked that,

Be ready to let go.

Open your imaginary hand and let that balloon float away.

Away,

Up towards the sky,

Further and further.

Now,

It's either on the horizon or completely out of sight.

And you can feel a new lightness,

A new energy,

And a new excitement for where life will lead you now that you've let go.

And simply rest now in this state if you want,

Resting your attention on the breath.

Like this for a few more moments until I will signal the end of the meditation with a gong.

Gong.

Gong.

this was a fantastic, gently guided meditation filled with opportunities to uncover attachment through the non-dual interface that is the body. learning to acknowledge the subtlety of attachment is the beginning of awareness. so grateful for the returning path 😌🙏🏾.
