And start to send the breath a little bit deeper.
So this observation on your breath.
Noticing the tip of the nose as you breathe in,
It's fresh oxygen as it travels down deeper into your body.
Where does it touch on this internal landscape?
And as you exhale,
Where do you feel that sense of relief and letting go?
Where do you feel that welcoming in your body to soften a little bit more?
Okay,
For the next number of rounds,
We're going to use a few words to really sink this in.
So as you breathe in,
Something to anchor to.
Say in your mind,
This body is breathing in.
And just witness that place of where the air is connecting with you.
And as you exhale,
This body is breathing out.
Just holding on to these two sentences and observing what is going on inside.
Where do you feel the vitality flowing through?
And as you keep this mantra,
This sentence going,
I'm going to just bring awareness to other parts for you to breathe into.
Next time you breathe in,
Focus the energy around the back of your heart.
Feel this area expanding.
So for those who have just joined us,
We're using the mantra or the sentence,
This beat is breathing in as we breathe in.
This body is breathing out as we breathe out to really become aware of where we're at today.
And focusing at the moment,
As you breathe in,
The energy and awareness in the back of your heart.
Space can get a little bit sticky,
A little bit stuck.
The air doesn't recycle in the back of the heart as it does in other areas.
So really feel for sending that gusto of breath and openness into this space.
And then feel your breath moving even deeper down.
So the breath expands into the back,
But then also the belly relaxes and opens.
As you let go,
The belly softly pulls back down towards the spine.
This body is breathing in,
Feeling the space in the back of the heart and down into the abdomen,
Opening.
Exhaling,
This body is breathing out,
Belly pulls back in gently,
Releasing and letting go in the back.
Keep this going.
Observation of this breath feeding you,
Fueling you,
Bringing you home to your body.
Allowing you to step into that rested state and nourishment for your nervous system.
Okay,
Take one more round with the awareness of the belly expanding.
And then for these next few rounds,
Still working with I am breathing in or this body is breathing in,
This body is breathing out.
Feeling energy moving through the back of the body,
Down to the front in the belly and then up into the front of your heart.
Focus on your inhale.
As you exhale,
Feel everywhere soften.
It's like this ripple and wave down through the back of the body,
Through to the belly and up into the front.
Exhaling it cascades and relaxes the opposite way.
Keep this going.
Notice the vibrancy,
The heat or whatever energy is for you around your heart.
As you continue this wave-like breath,
Body is breathing in,
Feeling the back,
The belly,
Front of the heart.
Body is breathing out,
Heart,
Belly,
Back softens.
Just take three more rounds of this together.
And then just let your attention rest in the heart.
How is it feeling today?
This morning?
On a physical level,
Can you feel your heart beating?
On an emotional level,
Is it open?
Is it closed?
Is it tight?
Is it filled with gratitude?
Does the back or the front feel more or less open?
I'm going to take seven brownberry breaths into the heart.
So if you are seated,
You might like to place one hand on the front,
One hand on the back.
And then just take a few deep breaths.
And then just take a few deep breaths.
And then just take a few deep breaths.
And then just take a few deep breaths.
And then just take a few deep breaths.
Place one hand on the front,
One hand on the back.
And then change halfway through.
Maybe both hands resting on the heart.
If you are lying down,
Breathe into the space around your heart.
Brownberry is a buzzing breath,
So feel for buzzing this area up.
Mm.
Welcoming a vibration,
A sense of connection,
Of softness.
Take six more in your own time.
Mm.
Mm.
And after your total of seven rounds,
Just relax the hands and feel for breathing into this space,
Observing how that has affected this area.
Do you have more freedom,
More space,
More awareness?
For those who are looking for more vitality today to take them into the day ahead,
Feel for bringing your hands into kind of like pincers and placing them just under your collarbone.
So locate the collarbone and then just underneath.
If you're looking for more of a restorative practice right now,
You can keep focusing on breathing around your heart.
If you're with me,
I'm going to start tapping just underneath the collarbone,
Breathing in deeply and exhaling through the mouth.
Keep this going,
Breathing in,
Floating with breath.
Exhaling through the mouth.
Again,
Seven rounds,
So if you're with me,
Five more.
Mm.
Mm.
Mm.
Looking for a little tender spot underneath the collarbones.
Letting your jaw relax.
After your seven breaths here,
Relax the arms and just notice any effects from the tapping,
From the breathing.
Ah.
Additional sound effects are welcome.
Just basking in this moment in whatever the body is experiencing.
Allowing yourself to bear witness to this permission to stop.
Stop the doing and appreciate the being.
This time,
Hands still in little pincers.
If you're continuing with me,
Hands move down towards the sternum,
So centre of your sternum,
And start to tap into this space.
Again,
You might find if you just go up and down a little bit,
A more sensitive area.
Again,
Tapping.

Relaxing the hands down and again just taking this time to observe.
Observing the rebound effect,
The energy effect.
From connecting with fingers with breath to this point.
And the last kind of breath work we're going to take today is Kapalabhati.
So for those who are unaware of this breath work,
It is a breath in letting the belly relax and a sharp exhale either through the nose or the mouth drawing the belly back.
Feel free to do this slowly,
Playing with that.
We'll take a couple of practice rounds now.
Breathe into the belly.
Sharp exhale out.
I'm going to do it through my mouth because my nose is blocked at the moment.
So breathing in.
And you're seeing what effect this has up into your heart.
Do this on your own.
If you're going slow,
I will tell you when to stop.
If you're used to Kapalabhati,
Go quickly.
As fast as you feel comfortable.
For 25 rounds.
After your 25 rounds,
Take a really big breath in and then let the breath go.
So I'll be guiding the people doing 25.
If you're taking it slowly,
I will guide you out of it.
Everyone take a breath in.
Apologies,
Everyone empty all of your breath out.
Then we'll all be together.
Breathe in.
Empty halfway and then sharp exhale.
Take a deep breath in everyone.
Let your breath go.
Fill up.
Empty halfway for me.
Fill up.
Empty halfway full.
25 rounds or go slowly.
Deep breath in.
Let the breath go.
Final round of Kapalabhati.
Breathe in.
Empty halfway full.
Pumping action in the belly.
Breathe in deeply.
Notice how your body feels,
How your heart feels.
Kapalabhati is a heating sensation.
It's a sensation of your heart.
It's a sensation of your heart.
Kapalabhati is a heating energy breathwork.
But it's amazing how using our belly also activates our heart energy and around the area of the heart.
So just observe what is your energy feeling like now?
And more importantly,
How can you use this energy or how do you wish to use this vitality to fill the rest of your day?
So go ahead,
Ask your heart,
How can you nourish yourself?
How do you want to show up for yourself today?
Could be simply noticing your breath a little bit more through today.
Gifting yourself the luxury of deep breath.
Maybe there is something that you are working with more deeply that you wish to pay attention to today.
And then lastly,
Before we close our practice,
With this vibrational energy in your heart,
Count your blessings.
Give thank you for today.
Give thank you to your heart,
To the home,
The space that you're in,
To the food,
The drink that you're going to nourish yourself with today.
And anything else that comes to mind that you can simply say thank you to the world or to your life for.
Just for the next few moments,
Let your mind wander to the joys that are in your life,
The things that lift your spirit,
The things that lift your heart.
And let that energy keep feeding into your heart with every breath.
And as you are ready,
Take another moment,
Feel into the space that you've created,
The vibration you've created in and around your heart today.
And let this lead through the rest of your day.
Start to notice the sounds around you in and out of your space.
The colour that is resting behind your eyes.
Begin to deepen your breath again and move fingers,
Toes,
Maybe taking a stretch,
Moving through the heart tissue.
And when you're ready,
Opening the eyes and coming back into this space.
