Hello and welcome to this guided boundaries meditation.
Boundaries are something that many people struggle with.
If you are a woman or female identifying,
It is likely that you have been praised for not setting appropriate boundaries in your life.
Our society rewards women for putting others needs ahead of their own.
Because of this,
Most women I know struggle with guilt and shame when they want or need to set or uphold a boundary.
If you are a man or male identifying,
This may not be your experience.
However,
If you struggle with setting and holding boundaries,
I'm glad you're here and I hope that these affirmations will help.
So to start,
Get comfortable.
Find a seated position or stand perhaps if you prefer.
Feet firmly on the ground,
Spine straight,
Shoulders and jaw relaxed.
Start to bring your attention to your breath.
Breathing in and out through the nose.
Allowing your breath to fill your lungs.
Extending your ribcage.
Letting your belly soften and fill.
Then as you breathe out,
Allowing everything to soften.
Allowing any tension that you're holding to melt away.
And it can be powerful simply to listen to the following affirmations,
But I would encourage you to say them aloud after me.
Feel into the energy of these statements.
It is safe for me to set boundaries.
I deserve to set and hold healthy boundaries.
Every day I'm becoming clearer about the boundaries that serve me best.
It is easy for me to share my boundaries with others.
I communicate my boundaries in a clear and respectful manner.
It is safe for me to communicate my boundaries with others.
I honor myself by honoring my boundaries.
I trust myself and my own ability to set and uphold my boundaries.
Each time I honor my boundaries,
I feel more confident in expressing my needs.
Boundaries keep me safe emotionally,
Spiritually,
Physically,
And energetically.
By honoring my boundaries,
I create space for my desires.
I am ready to choose beautiful boundaries that help me live,
Create,
And serve as my most authentic self.
I give myself permission to set boundaries that support me,
My desires,
And my life.
My boundaries help me pursue my passions in a way that is easy and aligned.
My boundaries help me take loving care of my body,
Mind,
And soul every day.
I easily attract people into my life who honor and respect my boundaries.
When people do not respect my boundaries,
It is a reflection of their own situation and circumstance,
Not of unfairness on my part.
It is safe to reinforce my boundaries as often as necessary.
Even if I have let my boundaries be crossed in the past,
I am allowed to enforce them now.
No is a complete sentence.
It is not my responsibility to make other people feel comfortable with my boundaries.
I do not need anyone's permission to set boundaries.
I am allowed to ask for what I need.
It is okay to feel uncomfortable when setting boundaries.
I am learning.
Clear boundaries are kind boundaries.
I am worthy of setting and maintaining healthy boundaries.
Take a deep breath in through the nose and let it sigh out through the mouth.
Notice how you feel.
Do you feel agitated,
Uncomfortable?
Do you feel lighter and empowered?
There is so much to unpack when it comes to boundaries.
Be gentle with yourself.
Take a few more deep breaths.
Feel your feet where they make contact with the earth below you.
Root down and feel the energy of the earth supporting your body.
Start to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Bring your attention slowly back to the room around you.
Notice any sounds or smells.
Feel your clothing against your skin.
And when you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes.
I hope these affirmations have been helpful.
Return to them as often as you feel you need.
And remember,
You are worthy of setting and maintaining healthy boundaries.
