This meditation is part of my restmas series, but can also be a standalone meditation for connecting with your body and extending it some kindness. It is a play on a traditional loving-kindness meditation and the focus throughout the track is on offering love and compassion to your own body primarily. I feel it is important for meto share that "she" pronouns are used throughout this track.

Hello,

And welcome to this loving-kindness-for-the-body meditation.

Today's meditation will be a variation on your typical loving-kindness meditation.

It is part of my restless offering,

And for the first week of the journey we have been connecting back to our bodies.

Whether you've been with me on this journey or you're just dropping into this meditation today,

Know that this is a tender place of compassion for the vessel that we walk through life in.

So often we ignore the pleas of our bodies for rest,

For nourishment,

For play.

And so I invite you today to sit and breathe and let my words soak into yourselves.

Offer your body the compassion that you would offer a precious child or your dearest friend.

And if you haven't already done so,

Finding a comfortable position to sit or lay in,

Closing your eyes and allowing your breath to soften and deepen,

Feeling how each in-breath expands your chest and your belly,

With each out-breath allowing your body to soften and receive the support of the surface beneath you.

And as I speak these loving-kindness statements,

Let them echo in your bones as though you were speaking them to yourself.

May I be soft with myself.

May I be patient with my body.

May I listen when she whispers.

May I honor what she needs.

May I allow myself to rest.

May I feel safe,

Held,

And at home within myself.

May I remember that my body is sacred.

May I trust the wisdom woven into my bones.

May I move at the pace of my breath.

May I soften where I've been bracing.

May I feel the presence of the women who came before me.

May I rest in the knowing that I am never alone.

May I stand in my power without abandoning my softness.

May I tend to my body as the sacred vessel she is.

May I trust my intuition to guide me.

May I honor my cyclical nature and remember that I too belong to the earth.

May I feel rooted,

Supported,

And held.

May I be in harmony with myself and the world around me.

May I claim the fullness of who I am.

And then opening your consciousness to all of the women in your life.

And even beyond to all of the women in the world.

We offer up this prayer.

May we be kind to our bodies.

May we honor the wisdom that lives within each of us.

May we remember our connection to one another.

May we rest deeply,

Love fully,

And live softly.

May we rise together,

Rested and whole.

May we be simply that.

Just be.

And as you think about moving back into your day.

Perhaps you catch yourself in the moments where you're not speaking so kindly to this body.

And in the catching,

Give yourself permission to soften the language that you use.

And we have new evidence to show that when we speak kindly to our bodies,

To ourselves.

We reduce inflammation in the body.

We reduce pain.

We reduce stress hormones.

The simple act of saying I love you to your own body is powerful magic.

I hope that this loving kindness meditation has given you a sense of calm and ease and connection to the incredible body that you are walking this earth in.
