It is said that those who live in more densely wooded areas report better health data than those who live in more urban areas. Being close to nature can help us to alter our brain waves, slow down our heartbeats and lower our blood pressure. In other words: we activate our parasympathetic nervous system & shut down the "fight, flight, freeze." This guided visualization is simple: the more we connect with nature, the better we feel, and the better we feel, the more we connect with nature.

So go ahead and take another nice deep letting go breath here,

This time making an audible exhale.

And go ahead and close the eyes all the way down.

Good.

And take a moment here now to connect with your breath.

Good.

And start to become aware of your right palm.

Simply bring your focus and awareness to your right palm.

And bring that focus and awareness now to your right elbow.

Bringing that focus and awareness up to the right shoulder.

Bringing that focus and awareness across all the way to the left shoulder now.

And bringing that focus and awareness down now to the left elbow.

Bringing that focus and awareness now to the left palm.

Good.

Once again,

Bringing the focus and awareness now to your right palm,

To the right palm of the hand.

Good.

Bringing that focus and awareness now to the right elbow.

Bringing that focus and awareness up to the right shoulder.

Sending that focus and awareness now over to the left shoulder now.

Bringing that focus and awareness down to the left elbow.

Bringing that focus and awareness now to the left palm of the hand.

I know you know this,

Oftentimes the third time is the charm,

So go ahead and bring that focus and awareness over to the right palm once again.

Sending that focus and awareness now to the right elbow.

Bringing that focus and awareness now to the right shoulder.

Sending that focus and awareness now to the left shoulder.

Sending that focus and awareness now down to the left elbow.

Bringing that focus and awareness now to the left palm now.

Good.

And taking a moment here now to simply notice what you notice.

Notice any sensations that you may be experiencing.

Maybe a tingling or a pulsation.

A warmth or a coolness.

A lightness or heaviness.

Something else entirely.

Perhaps no sensation at all,

Which is of course a sensation.

Allow yourself to become aware of just how much more present you already are.

Just by focusing on your breath.

And this present moment now.

Good.

Very,

Very good.

And I'd like you to now in your mind's eye,

Go ahead and see a tree before you.

You can be any kind of tree.

Just go ahead and imagine a beautiful,

Safe,

Enchanting tree before you now.

It may be plush and filled with fruits or flowers.

Perhaps it's covered in leaves or maybe it's barren.

I couldn't possibly begin to know what your version of beautiful looks like.

Go ahead and really see,

Feel,

And experience this tree now.

Imagine to notice any textures of this tree.

If the bark is smooth or coarse.

Notice the color of the bark.

Notice the area around the base of the tree.

Notice if you can see any roots that spread out or if perhaps they're all neatly encapsulated under the ground.

Go ahead and take a nice deep breath here.

Breathing in the life of this tree.

This clean,

Oxidized air.

So fresh.

Go ahead and notice any pleasant fragrances as you do.

Take a moment here now to listen for any beautiful sounds in and around your perfect tree.

Notice if you can hear the gentle movement of leaves or branches.

Notice you start to become aware of any birds or other animals seeking refuge and protection in this perfectly beautiful tree.

And if so,

Go ahead and listen for any of those sounds now.

Being aware of just how much life surrounds even just this one tree.

Good.

Very,

Very good.

Go ahead now and take a seat at the base of this tree.

Perhaps it's most comfortable to lean your back up against the trunk of the tree.

Just go ahead and get as comfortable as possible.

Sitting at the base of this tree,

Making contact in some way,

Shape or form.

Good.

Once again,

Become aware of your breath here as you tune in.

Becoming aware that the more you tune in here,

The more that everything else seems to just tune out there.

Good.

Go ahead and take your limbs,

Your arms and place them so that your hands can touch the earth or even the roots of the tree in some way.

Perhaps you even allow your feet to ground and touch the earth,

Touch the roots.

You really just get as connected as possible now,

As rooted as possible now.

Good.

And even if just for now,

Go ahead and allow any concerns,

Any thoughts,

Any long growing to do lists,

Or even any expectations about what you should be doing or should be thinking or should be experiencing.

Go ahead and allow all that noise to be released out the hands,

Out the feet.

Now down into the earth.

Let's go ahead and release it out and down now.

Because the truth is the earth knows just what to do with it.

She's able to transmute those thoughts,

Those concerns,

Those to do lists,

Those expectations.

She's able to transmute them into something beautiful.

So perhaps you see that flourish before you now,

Or perhaps you just feel the relief of that release.

Simply allow yourself to become more and more present and therefore deeper and deeper relaxed,

Really beginning to feel at peace now.

Good.

Become aware now that this tree is offering you such beautiful,

Clean air.

So go ahead and take a couple of nice deep letting go breaths.

Breathing in that gift.

Notice that as you do,

Everything else starts to fade away.

Simply drift and float away.

And all your focus and awareness is on how peaceful it feels,

How grounded you feel,

And how relaxed you feel now.

Breathing here at the base of this tree,

Lung to lung,

Root to root,

Breathing together.

And as you start to become aware of this togetherness,

A feeling of connection,

Of oneness starts to flow over you and through you.

And perhaps it feels like a smile or it feels like gratitude.

Or perhaps it feels like some other sensation,

Perhaps a tingling or a pulsation in the body or just a knowing that it's true.

Just allow yourself to embrace this beautiful moment,

These purified,

Clean breaths,

And this transmutation of any and all things that no longer serve you into something beautiful.

Something so cleansed,

So nurtured,

So protected.

Some may even describe it as medicinal.

And you start to become aware now that the more you connect with nature,

The better you feel.

And the better you feel,

The more you connect with nature.

And a smile forms on the face because it's just so simple,

And yet it's true.

And the truth is that this type of deep,

Beautiful connection is available to you,

Is available to you at any time.

Whether you go outside and do the same practice,

Sitting there under a tree,

Or relaxed inside your home,

Listening to this recording.

Either way,

The mind knows no difference between the imagined and what's real.

So the opportunities are limitless for you to feel as good as possible.

Isn't that right?

Allowing yourself to really enjoy this moment here now,

Really breathe in this moment.

Allowing yourself to enjoy,

To relax even deeper,

And to lock into your memory.

Exactly what peace feels like for you.

And in a moment,

You'll hear the sound of a bell ringing three times.

And after that,

You get to choose what comes next.

You can either allow yourself to fully come back to this time and this place,

Wherever it is that you are.

Bring a smile on your face and open your eyes and enjoy the rest of your day.

Or you can allow the sound of these three bells to send you off to a beautiful,

Blissful rest.

A healing rest for as long as you'd like.

Knowing that the subconscious mind is supremely intelligent and knows exactly what it is that your higher self needs now,

And allowing that to choose the path forward.

Feeling so grounded,

So relaxed,

And so at peace with this beautiful connection that lives on for as long as you'd like.

Knowing you can return to this moment at any time simply by closing your eyes,

Tuning into your breath,

And going back to the base of that tree and noticing all of the beauty and wonder that there is to notice.

A healing rest for as long as you'd like.

A healing rest for as long as you'd like.
