Grounding | Connect To Your Inner Fire (Red Bindu)
by House Being
In this session based on a classical tantric practice, you can connect to your inner fire and vital energy and let yourself be supported by the energy of the earth. It has a quality of groundedness, stability and aliveness to it. We practice being aware of the present moment as well as becoming familiar with the powerful energetic sensations in our bodies.
Transcript
Welcome to this moment of practice together.
In this session I will guide you through a grounding practice,
Based on a classical tantric practice,
Where we will connect to our energy point in our belly,
In our low belly,
The red bindu.
But before we start with that specific practice,
We can just settle in a little bit.
So,
Make yourself comfortable in a sitting posture,
Maybe support your knees,
So you can really relax your posture.
And you can shift your pelvis a little bit to the back,
So you can have your spine straight more easily,
Without straining too much.
And let's start with a few deep inhalations and exhalations,
Just to arrive in the moment.
So we can breathe in deeply together.
And then out with a sigh.
One more time.
And out.
Just let go.
Just one more deeply into the belly.
And hold the breath for a moment.
Just feel the fullness in your body.
And let go.
And then connect to your sitting posture,
Just feeling the weight of your body on the pillow,
The floor,
The chair that you are sitting upon.
And on your next exhalation you can maybe let go a little bit more into the floor,
Into the earth beneath.
Relax the jaw,
Your face.
Maybe your mouth a little bit open,
A slight smile on the face.
Not to cover anything,
But to open yourself to this practice,
Whatever comes.
You can feel your shoulders from the inside out,
Relax the shoulders.
And then you can connect to your breathing.
And just notice what your breath is like at the moment.
Dancing in and out the body.
So you don't need to change anything,
Just watch the breath.
And maybe you notice other sensations in your body.
Tingling feelings or warmth,
Or maybe pain,
Soreness.
So see if you can just observe it without needing to change anything,
Just breathe towards it.
In a friendly,
Gentle way.
And then you can bring your attention to your belly,
To a specific point in your belly,
Which is called the red bindu,
It's an energy point.
And you can find that point,
More or less two fingers below your navel,
And about three fingers inside your belly.
It's quite normal that you don't feel that point immediately.
So you just visualize that there is this energy point in your belly,
About two fingers below your navel,
And three fingers inside your belly,
A glowing red,
Round spot of energy,
Moving.
So it's not static,
It's a fiery red point of energy in your belly.
And some people can feel it actually,
The warmth of it.
And if you don't,
Please don't worry,
Just imagine that there is this energy,
Bowl of energy in your belly.
Some people feel it a little bit more to the back,
Just in front of the spine.
And other people more in the front,
So also that's okay.
So see if you can connect to that energy point in your belly.
Gently breathe towards it.
And that point in your belly has a grounding feeling maybe,
Just a quality of groundedness,
Stableness.
And in a moment we will connect to the earth that we are sitting upon.
And we will start to draw the energy of the earth up into this point in our bellies,
But I will guide you through it slowly.
So you can bring your attention to the earth that we are sitting upon.
Even if you sit two or four floors high,
It doesn't matter,
Somewhere below is the earth.
And you bring your attention towards the earth.
The earth below us is a very powerful,
Huge field of energy.
So you connect to that energy,
You bring your attention to the energy of the earth.
And maybe your attention is drawn to the soil,
The aliveness of the soil,
Of the earth.
Or maybe your attention is drawn more inside the earth,
To the magma and the powerful fiery fluid inside of the earth.
And then on the next inhalation,
We more or less breathe in the energy of the earth,
We draw it up to our red window.
So what we are going to do,
Is first of all we breathe as if we breathe into our pelvic floor,
Our perineum.
So try that for a few times,
Just breathe in through your perineum,
And out.
And your inhalation is through the nose,
And your exhalation through the mouth.
Now while you have your attention inside the earth,
You breathe the energy from the earth,
You draw it up,
Pull it up with your breath.
You breathe it in through the perineum and bring it to your red window,
To that energy point in your belly.
And on the exhalation you let go.
So see if you can just breathe that energy into your belly,
To your red window,
To that fiery point in your belly.
So connect to the earth's energy.
And then we will add a little bit to the practice,
So you breathe in the energy of the earth,
You pull it up,
And in the end of your inhalation,
You close your mula bandha,
The muscles in your pelvic floor,
As if you have to hold your pee.
And then for a moment you hold your breath,
So you contain the energy of the earth in your belly,
In your red window.
So hold the breath.
Maybe you want to swallow the breath.
So also there is a little bit of a pressing feeling from the top down,
And you really contain the energy in your belly.
And then if you have to breathe out,
You let the breath escape,
But you keep this energy contained,
So you keep your muscles contracted.
And in the end of your exhalation,
You let go of this contraction of mula bandha.
So we will practice this slowly for a couple of times.
Just find your own pace.
So you breathe in the perineum,
Draw the energy from the earth up to your red window,
Close your mula bandha,
Not too tight,
Maybe swallow the breath and really contain the energy in your red window.
Maybe you want to place your hands on your belly.
Hold the breath.
And then if you need to breathe out,
You just let the breath escape your body,
But keep your mula bandha closed,
Contain the energy.
And in the end of the exhalation you can let go of the mula bandha,
The pelvic floor muscles.
So you can practice that for a couple of times in your own pace.
Bring that energy from the earth all the way up to your belly,
Contain that energy in your belly,
Close your mula bandha.
Maybe you feel this fiery energy in your belly.
And if not,
You just imagine that you draw this energy of the earth,
This fiery,
Powerful energy of the earth,
Grounding energy,
You pull it up and you imagine that it is in your belly,
This glowing,
Fiery point in your belly.
And you hold it there,
You build up the energy.
And when you exhale,
You only let the air escape your body,
You keep the energy there.
And on the end of your exhalation you let go of mula bandha,
You relax the belly.
And your awareness is inside of your belly.
Just two more times of this cycle,
Just pulling up the energy from the earth,
Deep down in the earth,
You pull up the energy to your red bindu in your belly,
And feel the quality of groundedness,
Stability,
But also aliveness,
Fullness,
Power,
You contain this energy in the belly,
In your red bindu.
And on the exhalation let go of the breath,
Keep the energy there.
And then you let go of this breathing technique.
And you let your breath resume its natural pattern,
Just being aware of your body,
The sensations in your body.
Maybe there are a lot of sensations and feelings.
Maybe you don't feel so much and that's also perfectly okay,
So we are not looking for anything particular.
And see if you can rest in awareness for a while longer.
And coming to a closing of this practice,
You can tune in with yourself and end again with a kind heart,
So just see if there are any judgments about your practice.
It's beautiful that you were willing again to turn inwardly and to explore your aliveness and your awareness.
So thank you very much for practicing together again.
That's so valuable.
Thank you.
