
Unwind From Your Day

Set aside any distractions, decisions, worries or cares and unwind from your day with this soothing guided meditation.
Transcript
A meditation is really just time and space just for you.
So if you can close the door to any distractions and just take the next few moments for yourself,
Time for you to just to relax,
To connect with yourself,
To re-energise and come back to your daily tasks and responsibilities with a little bit more grounding.
So whenever you're ready find yourself into a really nice comfortable position.
So that really doesn't matter if you're lying down or if you are seated,
But just making sure that you can take the next few moments just to completely relax,
Just to completely connect with yourself.
So when you found yourself into a nice easy relaxed position,
Just gently close your eyes and we'll start our meditation by taking a really nice deep breath in.
So as you breathe in,
Really imagine expanding your lungs with breath.
As you breathe out,
Just allow all the weight in your body to drop down.
And taking another nice long slow deep breath,
This time taking the breath right down into the base of the stomach,
So really expanding the stomach with breath.
And as you breathe out,
Allowing the weight to drop.
Allowing your shoulders to drop.
Noticing which parts of your body are connected to the floor,
The chair,
The bed.
Just really allowing those parts of the body to really relax,
To feel fully supported.
And then taking one more deep breath,
This time taking the breath into the whole body.
So imagine the whole body expanding with breath.
And as you breathe out,
Letting go of any tension that's remaining,
Just letting go of any tension that's remaining.
And as you breathe out,
Letting go of any tension that's remaining.
Allowing all the muscles in your body to relax.
And then taking your awareness to the very top of your head and imagine if you can a relaxing sensation,
Almost melting over your forehead.
So relaxing all the muscles in your forehead,
Around your temples,
Between your eyebrows.
Allowing this awareness and sense of relaxation to melt over your cheeks.
Relaxing all the muscles around your mouth.
Softening your jaw.
And taking your awareness to the very top of your spine where it meets your head.
Noticing for a moment how you feel in this space in your body.
And just relaxing all the muscles in your neck.
And relaxing all the muscles in your neck.
And just relaxing all the muscles in your neck.
Allowing this awareness and sense of relaxation to melt over your shoulders.
Down on your arms to your hands,
Perhaps noticing the weight of gravity on your arms,
Inviting your arms to relax.
Letting this awareness and relaxation melt over your shoulders,
Down your back.
Relaxing your heart and your lungs.
Letting go of any tension in your stomach or your lower back.
Letting this awareness and relaxation go down to your knees,
Your ankles and your feet.
Taking one more deep breath,
Filling your whole body with breath.
And as you breathe out,
Letting the weight drop down.
Allowing yourself this time to relax.
And imagine if you can that you are stood just in front of a doorway.
And imagine that you are carrying a number of bags,
Perhaps in both hands over your shoulders.
And imagine that those bags are filled with your worries,
Your cares,
Your concerns.
Perhaps filled with the decisions that you are struggling to make right now.
All those thoughts.
Just imagine for a moment placing those bags down.
Taking the bags off your shoulders.
Laying all these cares,
These worries,
These decisions down.
And just notice for a moment how light you feel.
And in this space of lightness,
Without those cares,
Those worries weighing you down,
Connect into your breath for a moment.
So just notice the natural rhythm of your breath as you breathe in and out.
Perhaps notice the sensation of your breath as it goes in through your nose.
Notice the cool air as it goes down your throat.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
The gentle rise and fall of your shoulders.
Your calm,
Safe,
Grounded breath.
Knowing that right now there is nothing you need to be doing or thinking about.
Knowing that right now you are exactly where you're meant to be.
You are exactly who you're meant to be.
And you deserve this moment of peace.
Connecting in once more to that sense of lightness.
The weight of the world is off your shoulders.
And just allow for a moment the corners of your mouth to turn up slightly.
Really savouring and enjoying that sense of lightness and of peace.
And imagine for a moment looking down at those bags,
Knowing that you can pick one or two back up.
Just taking a moment to pick one or two of those bags.
And noticing the lighter weight,
The lighter load.
And noticing this sense of calm,
This sense of peace.
You can easily move forward.
Opening that door that's in front of you,
Taking a step into the new.
And keeping that gentle smile on your face.
Keeping that sense of lightness.
Finishing your meditation with one last deep breath.
As you breathe out gently opening your eyes.
Taking a little stretch,
Taking a moment to look around the room that you find yourself in,
The space that you find yourself in.
And having a really wonderful day.

I loved the metaphorical baggage…it not only helped me to concentrate and keep random thoughts away but to also helped me recognizing I don’t have to carry all my worries and responsibilities at once.

Fantastic! Perfect pacing, great visualizations, and great reminders of what meditation is or why I’m doing this in the first place. I didn’t feel just relaxed, I was given gentle reminders and permissions to lighten my self up and the load I am carrying, to feel the lightness, and to choose one or two tasks to carry but now, lighter and better. Great way to end my day. Light and with a smile. Thank you so much!
