Find a posture that works for you.
Sit,
Stand,
Lie down,
Whatever you choose.
Just find a place where you can be both comfortable and alert.
Close your eyes,
Cast them down.
Mindfulness you cannot do wrong.
Do what's right for you.
In this practice,
We're going to bring awareness to your body,
The sensations in your hands,
Arms,
Shoulders,
And feet.
Gently moving from one area to the next.
Knowing our human body suit has messages for us.
As you move through your own body suit,
You may notice things that are unpleasant or pleasant,
Or maybe just simply neutral.
You may notice tingling or pulsation,
Warmth or cooling,
Itching or tightness,
Or just nothing in particular.
Allow what is to arise,
Just as it is.
Without judgment,
There's no need to fix or change.
But simply put yourself in the energy of compassion and curiosity.
What is unfolding in your body,
Your heart,
Your mind,
And your emotions?
Let's begin.
Allow yourself to rest in the stillness.
Feel yourself supported by the chair,
Your feet on the ground.
Begin to notice the breath moving in and out of your body.
The breath like fuel for your thoughts,
Your beliefs,
And your actions.
Now shift awareness to your hands.
Moving in and out.
Notice the sensations in the fingers,
In the thumbs,
In the palms,
And in the backs of your hands and wrists.
These tools for communication and decision-making move your thoughts,
Your beliefs,
And your actions out into today's digital world.
Just breathe some love and light into your hands.
Continuing with curiosity and discovery in your body temple,
Focus on your lower arms and elbows,
Sensations,
Energy,
Movement.
Bring the awareness to your shoulders.
As you reconnect to your body,
You are fueling it with your breath.
Breathe in and on that exhale,
Breathe out any stress or overwhelm in the shoulders.
Move your awareness into your torso.
Maybe those hips that have been sitting just a little too long.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Maybe sense a little tension there.
In your body,
Let that tension go,
Bringing yourself back to the divine perfection that only you are,
That you show up as.
Perhaps your busy brain has shown up,
Thank it,
Release it.
Breathe in and out,
Resting in the power of this stillness and this silence.
Bring your awareness down through your legs and into your feet,
Feeling yourself fully grounded on the floor,
Scanning your body for the awareness that you are always supported with this breath,
With your brain and with your heart.
Knowing these powerful centering moments will fuel you throughout your day.
Now I just invite you to take a few breaths on your own.
Notice the story your body's telling you.
If there's this place with a little extra tension,
Needing a little extra attention,
Breathe in and out a few more times.
One more breath in,
Feeling your body.
One more exhale,
Letting go of anything that no longer serves you.
As we come to a close of this practice,
Recognizing the power of our breath as life and the preciousness of this life in this human body suit that allows us to do our unique work in the world.
I just invite that you've taken this time to pause and in that pause,
Increasing your capacity to be present,
To be productive and be impactful.
For when you nourish yourself in this way,
You expand the way you nourish your work in the world.
So as you are ready,
I invite you to gently open your eyes.
Maybe wiggle those toes,
Stretch that back,
Roll those shoulders.
Give some love to those hands that help you message out into the world.
Give thanks to that heart that fuels your passion and all of the brain that makes it so.
Remembering that connecting to your awareness of the body is an act of self-care resulting in a way that you can access throughout the day.
At your desk,
In your car,
In your kitchen,
Right where you are,
Taking a moment to nourish yourself so you can nourish the world.
