In this meditation on awareness, we discover our true self, the awareness (the "I AM") behind all perception -- our thoughts, feelings, and sensations. In doing so, we find relief and come home to ourselves -- the ground of our being that has the capacity to be with whatever is happening at this moment.

This is an introduction into awareness,

Into discovering what it means to allow and to be and to feel the ground of being beneath all activity that is always whole,

Complete,

And available.

So let's begin.

Sit comfortably.

Feel your feet on the ground.

Feel your seat in the chair,

Your arms and hands resting gently in your lap.

Feel how the ground supports you.

Turn inwards and take a couple of nice cleansing breaths.

Standing and relaxing with each exhale.

Notice any areas of tension and consciously allow those areas to relax.

If you could adjust or move to just be one percent more comfortable,

Make that adjustment.

As you sense in,

With your gaze turn inwards.

Just empty the mind.

Allow the past to drop away.

Allow any worries or concerns about the future to drop away.

And just become very present with what is happening now.

Just allow and feel what is happening in this very moment.

As though you are sitting on the front edge of now.

Noticing and feeling any sensations as they arise.

Sounds coming in but not following them.

Just being with each sensation or object as it arises and then letting it go.

Just allow what is to be.

If a thought arises in your mind,

Allow that to be.

Don't grab or cling to anything.

And don't push anything away.

Just being.

Notice the sense of awareness behind the thinking,

The feeling,

The sensations,

That which knows.

Turn your attention towards that which knows.

The one thing that you cannot drop is your awareness.

Notice the qualities of awareness.

Boundless,

Open,

Timeless.

This awareness does not come and go.

It does not have any edges.

Feel and sense the inherent calmness of awareness with no opinions.

This awareness that can be with whatever is happening in each moment.

This awareness is you.

It's as real as it gets in this moment.

Just being.

Turn your attention more closely into the body.

Notice the sensations arising within the body.

If there's any tension,

Bring your awareness into any tension,

Any subtle sensations of anticipation,

Of stress.

Just allow your awareness to move into and be with those sensations.

Not needing to push them away,

Not needing to do anything.

Just being with what's happening inside the body.

Now bring your awareness to your entire body.

Feel and sense the aliveness within the body.

Then allow your awareness to expand out in a bubble around your body.

Then allow that bubble to expand into the room further and further out until it encompasses your whole house or space that you are in,

Into your town,

Into your state or country,

Into the whole world.

Just feel and sense there's no inside or outside,

Just awareness.

Pervasive,

Open,

Free.

Allowing whatever is happening to happen.

Feel and sense the underlying okayness with the way things are.

That awareness can be with whatever is happening without needing to change or fix,

Which means you are fundamentally okay with the way things are.

You can be with what's here without needing to change or fix because you are that awareness.

Notice the relief that comes with being able to be with whatever is happening in this moment.

Realization.

Just stay in this place of allowing and being for a few more minutes.

Krishnamurti said,

The seeing is the doing and that's what you're doing now.

You're just seeing with a new perspective.

The seeing is the doing.

Giving yourself the gift to be with the way things are and know that it's okay.

This okayness is the ground of your ultimate freedom.

When you are ready,

I invite you to gently open your eyes and for as long as you feel,

Stay grounded in this fundamental allowing and okayness.

Just be here with what's happening.

Just this.

I thank you for your practice always.

I really appreciated the quote "seeing is doing' and the continued encouragement to simply be with what is. It had a very soothing and uplifting effect on me. Thanks Holly ☺️
