When we rest deeply into the experience of being human, we find sensations, thoughts and emotions arising in a vast open, loving unstained presence of our being as awake awareness. In this meditation, we explore awareness as the unchanging, limitless and stable ground of being and the beginning of true happiness and real freedom.

So what we're going to do here in this beginning first meditation is to discover for ourselves this ground of awareness to find this rooted place from which we can the wholeness within from which everything arises and To see that this awareness is actually always here and we are indivisible from it at all times in all places so and it really is like our most basic experience of being human so what we're pointing to and I'm pointing to isn't something that's Esoteric or difficult so I urge you not to over complicate what what is being pointed to here.

It's actually very Obvious in fact,

It's so obvious that that's I would argue.

That's why it's overlooked because it's just right here,

But we think that enlightenment and that This higher state of being is something far away that we have to work towards but this really is called the pathless path Because it really is just right here all the time Okay,

So The first way we're gonna point to it.

I'm actually gonna start with an open-eyed practice and then we'll move into closing our eyes But I invite you right now to just take a soft gaze on some object in your room.

I'm looking at a lamp and just notice let your eyes fall on the object in front of you and and notice that it's something you're aware of It has a color a size a shape and then there is You that is aware of this object so there's the observer the apparent observer and the observed and then close your eyes very gently and Notice that this same awareness is here unchanged And just feel into the unchanging element within your being and next we're gonna move to hearing Just notice sounds coming to your ears So the sound of my voice There might be other sounds in the room And just notice these sounds are arising passing and going and they're all appearances in awareness So this same unchanging awareness Is aware of sound and then feel into your body and we're gonna move to body sensations next so notice sensations arising in your body air on your skin,

Maybe tingling the weight of your body in the chair and Notice that just like hearing and seeing These sensations too are arising in the same one awareness They are arising and passing and then Let's move to thinking Just like seeing and hearing and sensing thoughts also arise in awareness So you might bring to awareness what you had for breakfast or any simple thought And notice that thoughts come and go Thoughts can be a little stickier than sensation or Seeing or hearing in a way they tend to feel different more like me More like me But notice that they really are just arising and passing That no thought you've ever had has stayed in your awareness Just be a curious observer and then we'll move to emotion so this feeling sense of Sadness or happiness anger any emotion just like Thinking and Sensing and hearing and seeing arises within this same one awareness So you might become aware of an emotion present and just become curious to be with this emotion as Awareness that just like all of these emotions also arise And will pass They don't stay in fact Nothing in your screen of awareness has ever stayed so Let's look at the qualities of awareness You know what thoughts and feelings feel like If you like thoughts or feelings we tend to live our whole lives consumed by all of these different things Ask yourself.

What does awareness feel like what qualities does it have I?

Notice that I can't can't find any edges or boundaries to awareness thoughts and feelings things you see or hear They tend to be discreet In that they come and go but awareness is limitless and open See for yourself though What is true for you?

Can you find an edge or a limit?

To awareness I also notice it's very still That all the things in awareness are like moving their movement coming and going this changing field But awareness is still and unchanging And as you explore awareness Just see who or what is awareness If you are not your thoughts feelings Sensations is all of that comes and goes that at the root in the background behind all experience Is this open?

Limitless boundless nature that is fundamentally you What else would it be?

And it's not going anywhere right you aren't going anywhere You can't leave you So this great truth is great.

I am that is Spoken about in the spiritual path the realization of your Being as fundamentally divine.

This is actually what it's being pointed to right here and right now Doesn't have to be an esoteric experience Where angels drop in and come in from above it actually is this simple pointing to the fundamentally limitless open and free nature limitless open and free nature of each of our being and We all share this one truth my open Limitless divine nature isn't fundamentally different from yours or anyone's here We are all connected in this way to this one truth We are all already free right here and right now This wholeness that's pointed to in physics if we are open and limitless and boundless Nothing can be taken out or put back or fragmented Isn't that whole what else would you call it so our true nature our divine nature is whole In just this seeing you can experience this for yourself Nothing is missing,

But don't take my word for it See for yourself Ask yourself if I really touch back and I drop everything all What I take to be myself the pain the suffering all those fragmented parts We can both drop them,

But we can also bring them all in include everything We are fundamentally whole and complete already We are enough just as we are notice that the same one awareness is the same awareness that you had five minutes ago when you used We're doing the practice as Was 30 minutes ago Or an hour ago when we started but ask yourself isn't this the same one awareness?

Ten years ago Or 20 years ago or when you were a little child We are like an ocean of awareness But we forget because we get caught in the waves Thinking we're an individual way But it's all water Everything in our experience is just water or love And so the invitation here is to understand that at any moment you can return back to this most essential whole being You just simply relax into it as your natural home.
