In this meditation, we will be using the Koan "Who am I?" a question that has been asked by many wisdom traditions over the ages as a tool to move closer to self-actualization. I have also teemed this practice with 963Hz which is aligned to the activation of the crown chakra to allow the answers to drop through. I would suggest using this meditation each day and taking time to journal through your experience after each session.

Hello lovely.

Welcome to this month's meditation.

This month we are going to be experiencing a koan meditation.

It's a practice that's present in Zen Buddhism and is an opportunity for us to explore a question and take it to another level of understanding,

To move closer to awakening,

To experience that self-actualization.

So the question we're going to be working with is who am I?

I'm going to be guiding you through the first part of this meditation but then I'm going to leave you with that question to continue at your own pace for as long as feels right for you.

I would suggest a minimum of 15 minutes however if that feels too much for you right now that's absolutely fine.

Work with where you're at.

So as and when you're ready I invite you to get comfortable,

Allow your spine to find some length,

Maybe roll back your shoulders to ensure your posture's in a good place and you can get comfortable and find that energy that moves through the spine that keeps us alert,

That keeps us able to focus.

And as and when you're ready,

Gently closing your eyes and bringing your awareness to that breath in the belly.

Just noticing that gentle rise and fall that happens automatically.

We're not trying to change or control the breath in any way,

We're allowing it to be whatever it is in this moment.

Whether that's fast or slow,

Deep or shallow,

Maybe it's steady today,

Maybe it's a little bit more erratic or jittery,

All of these things are welcome.

And if at any point you find yourself distracted or being pulled away into thought,

Know that's perfectly okay.

But when you notice when you notice,

Just gently redirecting your attention back to that breath in the belly and taking a moment to notice if there's anywhere you're holding tension in the body.

Maybe you can allow your shoulders to melt away from the ears a little bit more.

Maybe you could soften across the brow,

Loosen the jaw.

And as and when you feel relaxed and comfortable in this space.

On the out breath,

Posing the question,

Who am I?

And on the in breath,

Making space for answers to emerge.

We're not seeking or grasping for an answer.

Some days there's little in the way of answers coming through.

Other days there seems to be lots of answers emerging.

Sometimes answers won't come through for some of the meditation,

But only parts of the meditation.

But either way we continue to pose the question on the out breath,

Who am I?

And again,

Breathing in,

Making space for answers to emerge.

Who am I?

And continuing that process at your own pace.

Breathing out the question,

Breathing in answers.

Who am I?

Who am I?

Who am I?

Who am I?

Who am I?

Who am I?
