This short relaxing meditation will allow you to notice and move through energy blocks in the chakras using the Ayurvedic wisdom of the doshas. The doshas are energies that are present in the body and can be worked with to help achieve happiness, health and vitality.

Welcome to this week's meditation.

During this meditation we'll be looking at how the doshas manifest in the body and how they're manifesting in the body for you today.

But before we get started make a point of getting comfy.

You may want to sit,

You may want to lay down,

You may want to lay on a cushion or have a blanket.

Whatever is going to work best for you.

Most importantly it's allowing you to feel safe and able to ignore the outside world for 10 minutes and connect deeply with yourself.

Once you're ready I want you to close your eyes and just pay attention to where you can feel the breath most strongly today in your body.

You might notice it's quite fast,

It might be quite slow,

It might be quite shallow or it might be quite deep.

It doesn't matter it's just about noticing.

And just focus on that sensation of the rising breath in your body and that releasing as you breathe out.

And when you feel really anchored into that breath I want you to bring your awareness to the bottom half of your body from the navel downwards.

Now this is the area where we hold the most kapha energy.

The energy and stability of being grounded and feeling safe.

But I want you to just bring your awareness to this part of your body today.

Notice how it feels for you.

Any pain,

Any sensations or a lack of sensation.

It might feel quite dull or it might find,

You might find it's quite energised.

Just notice there's no right or wrong it's just about bringing your awareness to this area.

You might find there are certain parts that are hard to focus on.

Notice if any thoughts or emotions come up when you focus on this area of the body.

Now I want you to bring your awareness to the middle section of the body in between the navel and your heart space.

This is the area where we hold the most pitta energy.

The energy of motivation.

Of leadership.

And a general excitement for life.

Just notice what sensations might be going on for you here today.

Any discomfort,

Any ease.

Notice any thoughts.

And when you're ready I want you to bring your awareness to the top section of your body from the heart space to the crown of your head.

And again it's just about noticing what's going on for you here today.

This is the area of butter.

The area of intuition.

Creativity.

Freedom.

Notice any tension,

Any areas of constriction.

Any areas that feel open.

Any thoughts,

Any emotions that come up for you when you focus on this area.

And when you're ready I want you to move your attention to the crown of your head.

I want you to imagine golden ointment being pulled through your body from the crown of your head.

And as it moves through every muscle,

Organ,

Bone,

Brings relaxation and nourishment.

Allowing you to relax fully and come back to who you really are.

Just moving through your shoulders,

Into your arms.

Moving through the trunk of your body.

Nourishing every organ on the way.

Allowing them to release and relax.

Just moving through to the bottom of your body now.

And you can feel it filling up in your toes.

Up to your ankles,

It's filling up the inside of your legs to your knees.

All the way up to your hips.

And that navel area.

Just giving you a nice stable base,

Allowing you to feel relaxed and nourished and grounded.

And the top half of your body is feeling light and relaxed.

Got that heaviness in the bottom,

Keeping you weighted down and a light open sensation in the top half of your body.

Allowing you to be open to whatever today holds.

And just feel into that sensation.

And when you're ready,

I want you to slowly bring your awareness back to your fingers,

Back to your toes.

And give them a gentle wiggle.

And slowly open your eyes.

Ready for the day ahead.
