Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
Close your eyes and gently bring your attention to your breath.
Notice the coolness of the air as you inhale,
And the warmth as you exhale.
Begin to slow down your breathing,
Allowing each inhale and each exhale to bring you into a deeper state of relaxation.
And as you continue to breathe here,
Picture yourself seated in the heart of a quiet autumn forest.
The trees around you stand tall and steady.
Their leaves are vibrant with shades of gold,
Orange,
And deep red.
Just as nature demonstrates these warm and grounding colors,
It invites us to ground deeper into the lower chakras of the body,
Which we are often disconnected from as a society since we are always living in the thinking mind.
In today's practice,
We're going to ground into these lower energy centers.
So as you stay seated on this forest floor,
Begin feeling the solid and supportive earth beneath you.
Bring all of your energy and focus down,
Down,
Down into the body and into the earth,
Feeling heavy and grounded.
Now begin to bring your focus to your root at the base of your spine and your entire pelvic floor.
Feel this area grounding heavy into the earth,
And begin to imagine a deep red surrounding this area.
As you breathe in slowly and deeply,
Bring your focus to the base of your spine and feel the red grow brighter and stronger.
As you exhale,
Feel that breath going up your spine and exiting out of your body.
Again breathing deeply into the base of the spine,
Feeling the body grounded heavy on the earth,
Blending in with this forest floor with this deep red,
And exhale up the spine,
Feeling the release of energy leaving the body.
Now begin to focus on the sacral chakra,
Located below the navel where your sex organs are,
And imagine a deep orange colour surrounding this area.
As you breathe gently and slowly,
Notice the deep orange colour growing brighter and bigger.
As you exhale,
Feel it coming up your spine and out of your body.
Once again,
Breathing into the sacral centre of the body with a deep orange encompassing this area,
Breathing in as it grows bigger and brighter,
And exhale releasing up the spine.
Now we're going to begin to focus on our solar plexus,
A golden colour right at the base of where your two ribs meet.
Begin breathing this golden colour into this area,
And as you exhale,
The gold goes up your spine and releases from your body.
Breathing in again,
This gold grows brighter and bigger in your solar plexus,
And as you exhale,
That gold leaves your body,
Leaving any stagnation from the body.
Now simply begin to breathe deeply into all three of the centres,
The red,
The orange,
And the gold,
And begin to imagine these swirling leaves,
These swirling colours in the lower half of your body,
Blending with the colours all around you in nature.
The trees begin to lose some of their leaves,
Colours of red,
Orange,
Yellow,
Reminding us that this is a season of change,
Of letting go,
And of death,
And as you continue to stay grounded in your body and feel these colours within you too,
Remembering that you are a part of this nature of the cycle of life and death.
And as you continue to breathe deeply,
Allow yourself to settle into the stillness that autumn brings.
Nature is preparing for rest,
And you can too embrace the slower,
Quieter energy.
There is no need to rush,
No need to force anything.
Simply be here in this moment,
Resting in the peaceful rhythm of the season.
