Hello,
Thank you for joining me today.
This meditation,
Why Me,
Was created for everyone who seems that life is unfair.
When there's no answers,
No clarity,
No resolve,
No reason why particular things are happening in your life when you're working so hard.
So join me as we sit upright in our chair,
Feet flat on the floor,
Or lying down if that's more comfortable.
Allow yourself an act of kindness as we spend the next few minutes pondering life,
Reflecting,
Coming back home to our body in the present moment.
When you're ready,
Close your eyes,
Take a few deep long breaths,
Allowing your body to soften with each exhale,
Noticing any tension arise and letting it go.
Noticing how just a few deep breaths and being in the present moment can help soften any blow.
When we think of the Why Me,
Why is this happening to me?
What did I do to deserve this?
It's a good time to come into our body and notice our feelings.
And I encourage you to think,
Why not me?
We are only given things we can handle in this life.
When it feels there are no answers,
No reasons why,
When you've done all you can and yet still,
Things are not how you wish them to be.
No these are just tests,
Barriers and obstacles in our life to overcome.
I encourage you to look at this through the eyes of a child and think,
How can I overcome this?
What do I need to let go of?
What do I need to accept so that I may continue to move in the direction that I seek?
Why not me?
I am strong enough to handle this.
I am strong enough to get through this.
Historically,
I have made it through every situation in my life until now.
I can get through this.
And how do we get through this?
With our mindful practice,
Just as we go to the gym to strengthen our body,
We come to our seat,
Our mat,
Our bed,
Our chair to strengthen our mind.
Breathe and soften,
Breathe and let go.
Allow your tight body to unwind,
Creating space for new opportunities.
Allow a small smile to spread over your lips,
Whether you feel it or not.
Take a deep long breath with this small smile on your lips.
As you exhale,
Allow your lips to come to its natural position.
Allow any part of your body that tightened up to loosen and soften.
And as we close this meditation,
Think of things that give you pleasure.
A shower or bath.
A warm cup of coffee or tea.
A smile to a loved one or a pet.
A sunrise or sunset.
Allow these simple pleasures to wash over you as you build your resilience to get through this challenging time.
You are not alone.
You are strong enough.
Take two more deep long breaths,
Settling in even more.
Nowhere to go,
Nothing to do except for to care for yourself.
Breathing deeply,
Relaxing completely.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes,
Come back to the room,
Wiggle your fingers and your toes and know that you are able to handle any challenge in front of you.
Thank you for allowing me the precious gift of your time.
Until next time.
