Hello,

My name is Hilary Lafon and I am so grateful that you have joined me today to explore weekly affirmations,

Positive affirmations for the workplace.

Taking care of ourselves in the workplace can seem challenging,

But we need to do so,

So we can bring our best to the table every single day.

First let's breathe,

Relax the body so our mind will follow.

Whether your eyes are closed or not,

Allow your body to soften as you pay attention to your breath.

Exhale all your breath out and inhale deeply through the nose for the count of four,

Two,

Three,

Four and exhale through the nose or the mouth for five,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Two more times,

Inhale through the nose and exhale through the nose or the mouth,

Sighing it out,

Letting it all go.

Last time together,

Inhale,

Feel your chest rise,

Your stomach expand,

Taking in more breath than you think possible and then slowly like a whisper,

Exhale through the nose or the mouth,

Softening and settling in.

Allow your breath to come back to its natural rhythm,

Letting your breath be like the tides of the ocean,

Waves creeping in and out of the sand.

Noticing any tension or sensation in the body,

What are your hands doing?

Allow yourself to soften and expand all the muscles in your hands.

What are your feet doing?

Maybe you lift your toes up,

Settle them back in and just allow them to be rooted and relaxed on the ground.

Notice any tension in the face,

The back of the head,

The neck and the shoulders.

One last area we tend to tense our stomach,

Let it all go,

Let it hang.

I encourage you to repeat these affirmations in your mind after I say them.

I am more effective when I take self-care breaks often during my work day.

My job is what I do and I do it well but it does not define who I am.

Rest is work too.

It is a job that needs to be done.

Delegation isn't failure.

It's okay to ask for help.

It's okay to work hard but it's not okay to work so hard that my work is no longer effective.

I am proud of my culture,

Upbringing and experiences.

If your mind has wandered off,

Be kind to yourself and come back to your breath.

Re-commit to the present,

To your experience right here,

Right now.

Allow these words to seep in to every cell of your body until you believe them and make them true.

Notice how you feel now compared to when we started just a few minutes ago.

This noticing helps us keep coming back,

Practicing this skill.

Just like physical exercise,

Our body needs to work and mental exercise,

Our mind has to work as well.

Let us take three deep breaths before we end our time together.

Exhaling all the breath out,

Inhaling deeply through the nose and exhaling completely through the nose or the mouth.

Two more times inhale and exhale.

One more time inhale and exhale.

Allow a smile to wash over your face as you thank yourself for giving yourself a little bit of time today for self-care during the work time.

Thank you for allowing me the precious gift of your time.

Until next time.

Thank you - that was lovely. “It’s okay to work hard, but not so hard that my work is no longer effective” made me say “dang girl! Call me out then!” 😂🙏😝🥰💕
