We are what we tell ourselves. So let's spend time together today cultivating love and self-compassion. The guided experience that I offer this week starts with a quick relaxing breathing exercise and ends with 10 affirmations that help rewire our circuitry towards self-love. Enjoy!

Hello,

My name is Hilary Lafon and I'm so grateful that you've joined me today for this week's positive affirmations on how to cultivate love and self-compassion.

So wherever this meditation finds you,

Close your eyes and get comfortable in the ways that you know how.

Love feels right for your body today,

Sitting,

Standing or lying.

Eyes closed,

Bringing your awareness to your breath,

Inhaling deeply through the nose and exhaling completely through the nose or the mouth.

A few more times,

Inhale and exhale.

One more time together,

Inhaling,

Expanding your chest,

Your stomach,

Taking the deepest breath you've taken all day and slowly and softly exhaling all the breath out.

Letting your body soften and relax in just these few breaths.

Breathe normally for yourself and allow your face and your neck to just soften and melt,

Allowing each breath a welcome break to your busy day.

Feel your throat and your chest open up and expand,

Getting ready to put some energy out into the world to create the life that you want,

Remembering that what we tell ourselves becomes true.

So let's work on saying kind things to ourselves,

Learning how to be more self-compassionate to ourselves.

We're so great at helping others and being there for others,

But when we need it,

Maybe we're not there as often as we should be.

Allowing your stomach to hang loose.

If any muscles are tense,

Allow them to just soften,

Relaxing your spine,

Your legs and your feet and sipping in the air one breath at a time as if it's the most precious gift on earth.

Our time together,

Practicing breath work,

Things we tell ourselves,

Different exercises helps us realize that that is true.

I encourage you to repeat after me in your mind these phrases and just notice how you feel as these phrases come up.

For some of us,

We can feel really uncomfortable and it just feels strange to say nice things to ourselves.

We're not trying to change our reaction or anything that's happening today.

Just notice and notice where you feel it in your body.

If it is uncomfortable,

We won't be there long,

But this practice will help you become more comfortable and kind to yourself.

If your mind has wandered,

Come back to the breath,

Noticing what feelings,

Sensations,

Things your body are trying to tell you.

Sit with it just for a moment.

It's alright if you feel uncomfortable.

Saying kind things to ourselves can sometimes do that.

But the more you practice this,

The more it will be second nature.

And we'll only accept and value love from others if we can accept and value it from ourselves.

So exhaling all your breath out.

Inhaling deeply through your nose.

And exhaling through the nose or the mouth,

Letting it out,

Sighing it out,

Creating some noise,

Letting something go.

One more time,

Inhale.

And exhale.

Yet another lovely meditation Hilary.. I was trying to find the very first one I listened to and it brought me to this one. So it was meant to be.. you really have a nice approach to having the listener look within and also look at the outside world in such a wonderful way Ty 🌙
