Hello,
My name is Hillary LaFawn,
And I'm so grateful that you've joined me for this gratitude practice.
Practicing gratitude is one of the easiest way to have a profound effect on your life.
Practicing gratitude can change your life almost immediately.
So today,
I'd like to talk a little bit about gratitude,
Relax the body,
Quiet the mind,
Listen to the heart,
And then we'll have 10 gratitude affirmations at the end.
So when you're ready,
Close your eyes,
Exhale all your breath out,
And let's inhale together for the count of four,
Inhaling 2,
3,
4,
And exhaling for 5 or 6,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6.
Two more times just like this,
Inhaling deeply,
Feeling your chest rise,
Your stomach expand,
And exhaling completely,
Letting it all go,
Having a longer exhale than the inhale,
Letting our body know it's time to relax and settle.
One more time together,
Inhale deeply and exhale completely,
Breathing naturally and normally for yourself,
Allow your face to soften with each inhale and exhale,
Your neck,
Your shoulders,
Your stomach,
Your hands and your feet,
Your whole body relaxed.
As you breathe,
Think about what gratitude means to you,
Pick one thing in your life you're grateful for,
And as you breathe and relax and settle,
Think about why you're grateful for it.
What does it do for you?
Maybe you're grateful for your family because you have a sense of community,
Love,
And support.
Adding the why to what we're grateful for can really solidify and make us see the true riches in our life.
Allow yourself a little smile on your lips.
Smiling lets the body know that everything is okay,
Whether you feel it is or not.
Our muscles are directly connected to our neurochemistry,
So if anything is tensed in your body,
Energetically allow it to soften and relax.
Next,
As I say these affirmations,
Repeat them silently in your mind.
Thank you for this new day.
I am filled with happiness and gratitude.
I am grateful for another chance to live my life.
I am grateful to feel the air in my lungs and the beating of my heart.
I am thankful for simply being alive.
Thankfulness,
Appreciation,
And sincere gratitude are part of who I am.
I am grateful for who I am and for what I have.
I invite gratitude into my heart.
Today I will have an attitude of gratitude.
Thank you for the blessings this day will bring.
If your mind has wandered,
Come back to the breath.
Take a deep,
Long cleansing breath,
Exhaling and letting it all go.
Allow your body to soften once again.
Notice any changes you feel in your heart area.
Think about one thing that you can do today to cultivate an air of gratitude.
Maybe saying thank you to someone,
Smiling at the coffee shop,
Allowing someone to pass you while driving.
Gratitude helps us appreciate the life we have and keeps us from thinking of lack or what we don't have.
Allow yourself to enjoy your life and create the life you want just by being grateful.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes,
Wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes.
Thank you so much for allowing me the precious gift of your time.
Until next time.
