This guided meditation is intended to take you on a bit of a journey into the parts of yourself that most need to be seen and nurtured by you so that you can feel the peace and the power that comes when we invite our shadows to be heard and nurtured.
So to get started I'm going to ask you to just close your eyes,
Get settled into your body and become a bit anchored in the position you're in by taking a deep slow breath in through the nose for a count of five and out through the mouth for a count of seven.
Do this a few times until your entire body becomes rested and anchored.
And allow the tension that you may be carrying to fall away through and with your breath.
You can also imagine a big magnet sucking out all of the remnants of stress,
Fear,
Conflict,
Or anything else that you're carrying in your body,
In your heart,
In your mind that feels heavy.
Just imagine the magnet sucking out all of these energies as you sweep it over your entire body,
Your entire auric space from head all the way down to your toes.
And now I want you to imagine warm honey moving over your body from the tip of your head,
Pouring its way all the way down towards your feet.
And feel it envelop you with warmth.
Let its stickiness take with it any tension or discomfort that the magnet didn't get and just allow its drip to find its way all the way to the floor and then releasing into the earth.
Just let the remnants from the warm,
Thick honey soothe your entire system,
Eliciting energy that's peaceful,
Calm,
And safe.
Now I want you to bring to mind a current challenge in your life,
Some sticky situation that has been triggering you.
Allow the feeling to come forth.
Really feel into its expression in your body through sensation.
And you can name it with a label.
Maybe you feel tightness in your chest,
Constriction in your stomach,
Heat in your face,
And maybe the emotions you can name or are feeling dejected or suspicious or fatigued,
Bitter,
Angry,
Scared,
Lonely,
Whatever it is,
Just name it.
And I want you to envision through your mind's eye the version of you that first felt this feeling.
And I want you to see that you standing in front of you,
Like on a screen that you're watching a movie on.
This version of you is likely going to be very young,
A younger version of you,
Childhood version of you,
Probably.
And I want you to stay curious about what you're seeing in this version of you.
I want you to be curious about the experience that version of you is having that feels hard.
Really notice what's hurting.
And then gently walk up to that version of you as a kind and safe presence and ask,
What do you most need right now to feel safe,
Seen and heard?
Let your subconscious answer whatever automatically arises will be the right answer.
All you have to do as this safe and kind presence is let the voice be heard.
And in response,
No matter what was said,
Offer a gentle hug or a hand if that would feel supportive.
And notice what it feels like to show up in this way as a gentle,
Loving and understanding energy towards that earlier part of you that needed that precise medicine.
And now look at that younger part of you in the eye and say,
I know you felt.
Fill in the feeling.
I know you felt lonely.
I know you needed and fill in the need.
I know you needed attention.
And I really understand that.
That was so natural to feel a need.
And you didn't do anything wrong.
And I want you to say to that version of you,
I love you.
I see you.
I hear you now.
I'm sorry.
You're enough.
You always were.
I support you.
I'll always be here.
You can trust me.
You are safe now.
Just notice what comes up between you both as you experience this interplay of authentic expression of feelings and needs met with validation and compassion and security.
And now as if you're leaving a theater after having finished watching a movie on screen,
Find your way back to your body in this present moment.
And so sometimes what can help with that is wiggling your toes and your fingers and showing your breath attention by focusing the mind on it.
You can return to the sounds of your environment.
And as you wake back to the present moment with full embodied awareness,
Go on through the rest of your time,
Bring with you the love,
The validation,
And the tenderness you offered that younger part of yourself.
And stay connected to that voice in all of its true and gentle wisdom.
And like the warm,
Thick honey,
Let the rest sweetly glide away,
Having been given the recognition and space to be heard,
Felt,
And fully known.
I celebrate you and your practice,
And I'm grateful you let me guide you here today.
