Hello and thank you for joining me for another guided practice today.
We're going to be doing an inner child meditation.
If this is something that you are unfamiliar with,
I want you to just get into a comfortable position,
Listen to the activation that I will cue,
And just allowing whatever to come up,
Just to be there,
Feeling so safe to feel it all and to connect.
So when you're ready,
I want you to get into a comfortable position.
You can be sitting down with your feet placed firmly on the ground,
Laying down,
Whatever may feel comfortable to you.
And I want you now just to take a gentle breath in through your nose,
And release out through your mouth.
Another inhale in through your nose,
And release out through your mouth.
And one more clearing breath in through your nose,
And release out through your mouth.
And as you drop just deeper into a state of relaxation,
Knowing that you are so safe in this very moment,
Safe to feel,
I want you to feel what your body feels like in this moment,
Allowing everything to drop from your mind,
Placing your awareness into your body.
And with each inhale and exhale,
You drop your shoulders away from your ears,
And you feel a little bit more at ease,
Bringing more peace,
Feeling more relaxed.
That's it.
I want you now just to think back,
Think back to our old memory,
A memory of you as a young child.
Whatever age comes to mind,
Just notice where your mind takes you,
And what shows up in your mind's eye,
Knowing that everything is happening in perfect timing.
And as you notice this memory pop up in your mind,
Notice where you are,
Observe your environment,
Where you're at school,
In your family home,
On the playground,
With some family,
Cousins,
Friends,
Wherever you may be,
Brothers,
Sisters,
Mom,
Dad,
And you notice who's around you.
And notice what you're doing,
What activity are you doing?
Are you playing?
Are you eating?
Are you doing sports?
Talking to friends?
Just notice.
You want to notice how old you are as you observe yourself.
Notice what you are wearing,
Any colors that specifically sparks out at you in this moment.
I want you to take a moment and notice your face.
What expression do you have on your face as you are engaging in this activity?
Maybe you're playing and there's some joy.
Maybe you're sad,
Quiet.
Whatever it may be,
We welcome it all in.
You are so safe to feel and you are so safe to see and visit this memory.
And just taking this all in,
Breathing this all in through your nose,
And releasing out through your mouth.
And I want you now just to enter into the scene.
And as you walk into the scene,
Into this environment,
You see yourself.
You get closer and closer to your younger version of you.
Your inner child looks up and she notices you and she starts to smile as she recognizes who you are and you connect as you lock eyes and just feel what comes alive in your body as you connect in this moment.
Breathing in gently into your nose and releasing out through your mouth.
And as you get closer and closer,
Feel what comes alive for you in your body.
Do you feel excited?
Do you feel a little bit nervous?
All is welcome.
What do you notice happening in your inner child?
And as you get close enough to reach out your hand,
You feel this connection as she reaches out.
She reaches out their hands and you connect in this moment,
Touching.
And just feel what this sparks in you as you connect through physical touch.
And just notice any sensations in this moment.
All is welcome.
You are so safe to feel.
And as you get close enough,
Grab your inner child and warmly embrace them,
Giving them a huge hug,
Feel so much love.
Just feel what happens as you connect in this moment.
Feel the love.
Feel the connection.
Or if there is a little bit of apprehension,
Feel that too.
Noticing everything,
There is no right or wrong.
And as you look into their eyes,
They say something to you in this moment and just listen.
Listen to the still whisper,
To the still voice,
Or listen to anything that may come up.
And you respond with whatever is on your heart.
Maybe some encouragement,
Whatever it may be.
You are so safe to feel.
You are so safe to be here.
And as you connect and speak what's on your heart,
Maybe some encouragement,
Answering a question,
Just being present,
Just smiling,
Whatever you feel is needed in this moment,
Give yourself permission to just be present,
To feel,
And to share.
And as you put them down and they move and run back into the scene that you noticed them in,
And you gently start to walk away,
Finding yourself in your safe space,
Maybe the sun is beaming onto your face,
Maybe out in nature,
And just reflecting on that connection,
Reflecting on that moment,
That connection with your inner child,
What she said,
What he or she said.
And just anchoring this moment into your system,
Feeling into your body,
Feeling what's alive for you in this moment,
And breathing that all in,
In through your nose,
And releasing out through your mouth.
Beautiful.
And just as you come back,
Feeling everything that's alive for you right now,
Connecting to this beautiful part of you that's always present,
That always needs you,
That wants you to be present and be loving and kind,
And just acknowledge that this part of you is active always,
And all they need is your support,
Your love.
And knowing that you can visit her and you can go back,
Visit him or her,
Come back to this moment at any time you need some connection to yourself,
And just feeling some gratitude and some love for all that you've experienced in this moment.
And taking the final inhale in through your nose,
And breathing that all out.
And I want you now just to come back into the space that you're in,
Bring your awareness back into the room,
Back into your body,
Moving your body around,
Maybe wiggling your fingers and your toes,
And just gently fluttering your eyes back open,
Looking around you,
Placing your hand on your heart,
And just feeling what's alive for you right now.
And I encourage you,
Whatever came up for you,
To write that down.
Maybe journal whatever you need to,
Maybe what your inner child had said to you,
What you said back,
Just making a note,
Because whatever was said was exactly what you needed to hear in this moment.
