When you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, stopping what you are doing to breathe slowly for a minute or two, can be very helpful. It will help by sending more oxygen to your brain to help clear your mind. It will also give you the sense that time has slowed down just a little bit, which will help you feel calmer as you step back into your day. Background music: Pristine by Music Of Wisdom

When you're having a busy day,

Taking time for meditation may be the last thing on your mind.

But doing a quick breathing exercise will take only a few minutes and can help you to feel so much better.

This short exercise will help you to bring your attention into the present moment so that your thoughts are not absorbed in the past or rushing towards the future.

The key to anchoring your attention in the present moment is to become aware of your breath.

And then to slow your breathing down.

When you slow down your breath,

You slow down time.

Let's begin by sitting in a comfortable upright position.

All you have to focus on right now is your breath.

For the next few moments,

Everything else can wait.

Take these few precious moments for yourself to bring your mind and body back into equilibrium.

When you breathe in,

Try to breathe right down into your belly,

Allowing your chest and abdomen to expand.

When you breathe out,

Just relax your belly and your chest,

Allowing the air to effortlessly leave your body.

Take a deep breath in and slowly out again.

Another deep breath in.

Now slowly out again.

Take a deep breath in and slowly release the breath.

Let's slow the breath down even more.

Take a long slow breath in and slowly release the breath.

Breathe in slowly.

Now effortlessly release the breath.

Take a last slow deep breath in and gently release the breath.

You can repeat this exercise throughout the day whenever you are in need of a few slow moments to catch your breath.

May you take the sense of calm that you have just created for yourself,

With you into the rest of your day.
