Hello and welcome to today's guided meditation,
Letting Go.
Before we begin,
Allow yourself to relax into a comfortable position,
Whether that be seated upright with your legs crossed,
Or lying down with your hands placed over your heart.
As you become more comfortable,
Allow your body to relax,
Close your eyes if you feel comfortable doing so,
And let's take three deep breaths together,
With each breath on the exhale letting a little more go.
That's it,
One more time.
As we begin to wind down and the daily distractions of life fall to the side,
Our minds often bring the worries we have,
Resentments we harbour,
And expectations we hold onto to the fore.
Worries about our future,
Our careers,
Finances,
Relationships,
Health,
Resentments towards loved ones,
Bosses,
The state of society,
Where we are at in life,
Expectations of others and ourselves.
We weigh ourselves down unnecessarily with these worries,
Resentments and expectations,
Holding ourselves captive to our thoughts and feelings of how or what our lives and our relationships should be.
If we allow ourselves to let go of the expectations we place on ourselves or others,
And instead open ourselves up to appreciate and see things as they are,
And not as what we hope or expect them to be,
We will be able to gain more clarity and understanding,
To establish that which no longer serves us,
And begin the process of letting go.
The beauty in life is knowing when to let go,
When to abandon and relinquish that which no longer serves you,
A relationship,
A job,
A belief,
A grudge,
An expectation of another,
Or an expectation of yourself.
The more we trust in life and the universe,
The more we are able to let go of that which no longer serves us,
And trust that the process will take care of itself.
When we let go of that which no longer serves us,
We create space to allow more of what is for us to enter our lives.
If we hold on to our worries,
Our resentments and keep them close,
We think that we can control them and the outcome,
Yet instead we cause ourselves unnecessary stress and anxiety.
We need to learn to let go of our need to control things,
For control is a construct,
Often underpinned by a need to alleviate fear or concern for the unknown,
For variables that cannot be fully accounted for.
When we learn to relinquish control and navigate the fear that comes with it,
We free ourselves from that which weighs us down,
Allowing us instead to radiate on a higher frequency,
Opening us up energetically to attract more joy and positivity into our lives.
If we can do this,
And whilst this unfolds,
Wait patiently and trust in the process,
Then what is for us will not pass us,
As long as we remain open and receptive to it.
If we fail to do this,
The teacher will continue to show up,
Albeit in different guises,
Until we learn the lesson.
This does not mean we give up at the first sign of adversity or stress,
But that we know when it is the right time to let go,
Letting go of that which no longer serves us,
Allowing us instead to remain focused working towards that which serves us,
Rather than that which hinders us.
Every moment,
Every second in life is a chance at a new beginning,
For yesterday is history and tomorrow is a mystery,
But right here,
Right now,
Is the present,
A gift you can give yourself,
To let go of that which no longer serves you and create space for more of what you want to enter your life.
The mantra for our guided meditation today is Today I choose to let go of that which no longer serves me.
If you haven't already done so,
Close your eyes now and let's take three deep breaths.
Release a little more with each exhale,
Allowing yourself to notice any tension in your body,
Where you may be holding on to any worries,
Fears or resentment,
And allow yourself to breathe into that part and let the tension go.
Again,
Let's repeat our mantra.
Today I choose to let go of that which no longer serves me.
Allow yourself no longer to be weighed down,
But instead open yourself up and allow the gentle breeze of life to carry you where you need to be.
Don't fight against it,
Trust the process.
As you continue to let go and allow the breeze to carry you forward,
Continue to repeat the mantra.
Today I choose to let go of that which no longer serves me.
If you notice your mind wandering at any point,
Don't worry,
Just bring yourself back to the mantra.
Today I choose to let go of that which no longer serves me.
Whilst you are doing this,
I will hold the space for a couple of minutes,
Keeping an eye on the time,
So you can remain focused on the mantra.
Today I let go of that which no longer serves me,
And I will bring you back towards the end,
As we begin to wrap up this guided meditation.
As you start to bring yourself back into your body and the room,
I want to take this moment to thank you for making the time in your day to create space to work on yourself,
Your mindset and your wellbeing.
As you move forward,
Remember to keep in mind the mantra.
Today I choose to let go of that which no longer serves me.
Any time you feel weighed down by worries,
Resentment or expectation,
Be well my fellow companion,
Be well.
