Dear traveler.
Welcome to the Whispers from the I Ching,
Where ancient wisdom meets the rhythm of the unknown.
For over three millennia,
The I Ching has spoken in symbols and synchronicities,
A living experience that guides those who listen.
In our time together now,
We will open the veil between the worlds,
Exploring the hexagrams,
Elements and hidden harmonies that relate to the month of May 2025.
So,
Let us quiet our thoughts,
Settle the breath and trust in the unfolding before us.
Let's set the intention of trust together now.
If you can please repeat with me,
I trust that the information I'm about to receive is 100% for my highest good.
And I trust that my interpretation of this information is from my highest self and for my highest good and the greater good of all.
Taking a deep breath in and gently letting that go,
Trusting the unfolding and just relaxing into the receiving.
So,
The reading for the month of May has been very interesting for two reasons.
First of all,
There were two hexagrams that showed up and both of these have been present in the readings over the past year.
Now,
When a hexagram has shown up previously,
This indicates that this month that we are in of May is a powerful time of either diving deeper into a situation that needs attention.
It can also provide support through our awareness of multi-layers.
So,
It's like when we hear an echo in music or we see something repetitive visually,
That repetition or that echo is calling for us to look a little bit more into what the experience is or listen a little bit more closely,
Give a little bit more attention now to what is showing up again for you.
And there might be a multitude of things coming up in May that have come up for you in the past,
Maybe when things,
Oh,
I thought that was dealt with,
I thought that was done.
And if it's coming up again,
Just know and trust that there is a very good reason.
So,
The first hexagram that showed was one that was present in June 2024 as well as January 2025.
You can take a moment now just to reflect on those months if anything comes up for you,
If it doesn't,
That's absolutely fine.
But if something jumps out at you from that time,
You can hold that awareness with you as we move through this reading.
In the stillness before the storm,
Hexagram number 49,
Whispers of the skin which is ready to be shed.
There is fire beneath the surface,
The pulse of change,
Stirring in silence,
Not to destroy,
To transform.
It is the moment the chrysalis cracks,
Not from force,
But from fullness.
In this space and time,
Revolution is sacred.
It is a dance between fire and water,
Between truth and timing.
The old self fades like mist at dawn,
Making way for what must become.
This is not upheaval for its own sake.
It is the shedding of masks,
The rising of essence.
When the heart knows and the time agrees,
Change comes,
Not as a nightmare,
As a song.
Ancient,
Necessary and true.
So let's take a minute just to be with that in a very personal and intimate way before we start unpacking that.
So just relax and allow whatever comes into your mind now.
No need to join any dots at this point.
We're just opening our awareness.
Keep relaxation as you allow the awareness to continue to be with you,
Continue to unfold.
Now bringing your attention to your breath or perhaps to the surface beneath you.
We're now going to move our attention to the elements that are present in this hexagram,
Or it is the elements that allow us to understand the wisdom.
So in the lower triagram we have fire and in the upper triagram we have the marsh.
In other words,
Water above fire.
And this is quite a dramatic position.
So the fire could relate to either a resolution or to a clinging and this is what happens when the inevitable change is upon us.
It can flow smoothly without aid or if we cling to it and resist the change,
Then we will have the symptoms of something that is clinging and not wanting to let go,
To move forward.
This fire also indicates clarity and enlightenment.
While the marsh,
The water above the fire,
Signifies depth of thought,
Concentration.
The water element is the height of a yin experience and the yin qualities of life invite us inward,
Invite us to reflect,
To be still,
To make our decisions in times of quiet as opposed to quick fiery reactions.
Now in between the fire and the marsh there are two trigrams representing heaven and the wind.
Now heaven talks to strength,
Vitality.
It can also bring our attention to coldness,
Forcefulness.
So these elements in these messages are all potential and the potential now rests with each of us individually as to how we respond from moment to moment and how we engage with this time going forward.
What choices are we going to make?
Are we going to make choices or are we going to allow others or life to make choices for us instead?
And what are the consequences of either of these situations or others?
Now if we look at the wind,
This reminds us of our flexibility and our opportunity for growth.
The entirety of this hexagram number 49 is inviting us to accept and respond to change properly and as the I Ching says this means learning and profiting from change.
The I Ching cautions us don't let the process of change unbalance your individual way of seeing and doing things.
Make sure that the change is for a definite and necessary purpose and is required at this time.
Act selflessly and with honesty and sincerity when dealing with new situations.
Let's take a breath in and just let that information settle with you.
Take a minute to either be quiet or maybe you feel the need to move around before we do the reading for the second hexagram.
Relaxing the body,
Keeping the mind relaxed.
Use the breath if you need to now to create space between the information you've just received and the present time.
Taking a breath in,
Letting that go.
Now I invite you to think back to the month of December 2024.
And this was the time that hexagram number 27 known as nourishment was valid as it is for our month of May.
This hexagram speaks in the hush of stillness like the soil before the bloom.
A mouth not only for eating,
Also for receiving,
Speaking,
Offering.
What do you feed your body?
What do you feed your thoughts,
Your spirit,
Your silence?
Let us be reminded that nourishment is more than sustenance.
It is the energy behind the words that are spoken,
The intent behind what is taken in,
And the choices that shape one's becoming.
We are fed by food,
Yes,
But also by stories,
By attention,
By our beliefs.
So be mindful,
Choose what truly sustains you,
For what you nourish within and without is what will grow.
Let's pause there for a bit and just keep your heart open,
Your mind open.
Allow your first responses to be authentically with you now.
And slowly bringing our attention to our breath,
Our body.
As we now look at the details of this hexagram,
And the elements consist of thunder in the lower trigram,
The mountain in the upper trigram,
And earth in between.
Thunder relates to movement,
And also possibly the speed of movement,
Talks to expansion and growth,
And it can also caution us to impulsiveness.
The mountain represents stillness,
Fullness.
It invites in thoroughness,
Inevitability,
And can remind one to proceed carefully.
The earth,
Featuring in both of the nuclear trigrams,
Is one of a yin,
Feminine,
And passive quality.
So here we are invited to yield,
To nurture,
To be kind,
To be loyal and devoted.
This,
Of course,
Could be to others as well as ourselves,
Perhaps to a particular group or situation or experience.
So as you contemplate the qualities for earth,
As well as for mountain and thunder,
See where the relation is in your life right now.
And simply allow your first responses to be present with you,
Without trying to understand them.
When we allow those first responses in,
It is giving permission for our intuition to speak more freely.
And sometimes the intuitive mind does not make sense to the conscious mind immediately.
It may take some time to understand the language or the symbols or the reference.
So be relaxed as you continue to allow these messages to talk to you personally.
And we'll be in this position just for a little bit more as the unfolding takes place.
And as you bring your attention to your breath now,
Take in these wise words from the I Ching or hexagram number 27.
The wise man enjoins watchfulness over words and the temperate regulation of eating and drinking.
Being temperate and thoughtful in what you say and in the nourishment you take,
And your consideration for yourself and others will bring you to wisdom.
And so dear travelers,
I trust that these whispers from the I Ching have provided and will continue to provide the wisdom,
The nourishment that you need in the way that you need it for this month of May and this great time of change.
To benefit from the integration time,
Please take a few minutes for yourself just to be in quiet,
To be out in nature,
Eat some whole foods,
Do something grounding for yourself like connecting with a plant.
And then slowly integrate into your next activity.
If there are any areas that are unclear for you,
You can ask for the wisdom that is within you,
Your innate wisdom,
To talk to you in your dream time.
Ask the question before you go to sleep.
And the subconscious will process in such a way that the answers move into the conscious mind.
You may become aware of the answer through a direct dream,
But this often isn't how the response is received.
It can come through the next day,
The next week,
Maybe the next month.
It comes through at the right time in the right way.
