Welcome to this I Ching reading,

Hexagram 22,

Entitled Adornment.

Before we receive this transmission,

Please give yourself the opportunity to relax,

To calm what needs to be calmed,

And to arrive completely in the here and the now,

Opening our inner ears for hearing,

Opening our heart for receiving,

And of course trusting that you will receive the guidance that is in alignment with your soul's destiny.

Taking a gentle breath in,

And as you exhale,

Ground your awareness down.

Another slow breath in,

Focusing on the crown,

And then exhaling down.

And once more,

Breathing in,

Grounding down,

Feeling your body opening and expanding,

The nervous system relaxing.

And if there is anything you can do to bring a little bit more comfort for yourself,

A little bit more relaxation and calm,

Please do that,

For the quality of your preparation affects the quality of your receiving.

And on that note,

Let's move into receiving the transmission about adornment.

And in this hexagram,

We see the mountain is above fire.

Just take a moment to visualize what fire,

Or perhaps the fire from the sun,

The sun shining brightly below a mountain.

As you watch this beautiful,

Majestic mountain through the different times of the day,

From the rising of the sun,

To midday,

To dusk,

And all the while this fire,

The sun's fire is shining on the rocks,

On the flowers,

And all the different aspects of beauty that we find that adorns a mountain.

And this fire literally lights up those parts individually,

And also the mountain as a whole.

And so this adornment on the mountain really catch our eye.

And so if we now look at this interpretation into our own life,

This is a calling to focus on beauty,

And to enjoy the beauty that life offers.

And to bring in beauty into one's life,

The very physical aspects of beauty.

How can you adorn your space,

Adorn your experiences,

Even adorn yourself?

And when we adorn the human body,

This is to reflect the inner worth,

And the inner expression.

So what would the outer expression of your inner essence look like?

And let your adornments be truly and sincerely reflective.

In other words,

Choose with care and with authenticity.

And in your choosing and your engagement with beauty,

Don't be hasty,

Be like the mountain.

Calm,

Sure,

Steadfast,

And slow.

The I Ching says of this hexagram,

Meditation brings peace,

But it does not remove the necessity for choice and action.

So there is a balance that is being asked for,

Balance between light and dark,

Night and day,

Inner wisdom and expressive wisdom.

So look at the different areas of life now as you consider for yourself,

Where you can bring more balance,

Specifically expressing the inner outwardly.

Or,

If there is too much of outer expression,

And less inner awareness,

Be mindful of both extremities.

And when we are working with symbology,

Which is the archetypal language in the I Ching,

It ignites most naturally our subconscious,

Our intuition,

Our right brain,

And this means our responses can sometimes appear not to make sense.

So if you are getting certain images or certain ideas coming into your mind,

And it doesn't seem to join the dots,

Do trust that awareness that has come through for you,

And honor that.

And look at it,

And by acknowledging it,

It will allow it to grow,

Just like when we acknowledge the plant by watering it,

It is then able to do what it is designed to do,

Naturally.

So your acknowledgements will allow this conscious awareness to unfold more and more,

And it does so over time,

It doesn't all take place now in our immediate response to this transmission.

Now,

Along with these primary trigrams,

Along with the elements of mountain and fire,

We've got the nuclear,

The inner trigrams relating to thunder and water,

Talking to movements and awareness that is necessary,

That's thunder,

As well as a deep concentration,

Which is water,

Because water flows,

As we know,

Into these very far-reaching places that we can often not see or know in an instant,

But over time,

The water can trickle further and further and further,

And so our awareness can deepen and deepen and deepen.

So how is this imagery talking to you now?

Is it the water and its way of movement that is speaking to your soul,

To your heart?

Is it the thunder and its ability to create movement quite suddenly,

Often quite necessarily?

And now join that awareness with the focus of adornment.

And what further information do you receive in relation to your life right now?

So,

For example,

Looking at bringing in beauty and adorning one's space,

You might need to first connect with your deep,

Quiet waters,

And let this be a slow unfolding,

Or you might already know exactly what you want to do,

And so it's the energy of the thunder that's quick and sharp and active to bring about the changes.

And as you allow your responses to continue to come through,

Keep light and playful,

And if you're feeling that nothing is coming through at the moment,

Just relax into that space of being open when the awareness does drop into your consciousness.

This hexagram 22 follows on from 21.

21 and 22 work together as a pair,

And 21's hexagram had fire at the top.

We read the hexagrams from the bottom up.

The fire was above thunder in hexagram 21,

And the fire now moved to the bottom trigram of 22.

And if we look at the sequence of messages,

We see shocking enlightenment,

Which spoke to fire above thunder,

Turning into beautiful patterns of guidance,

As we see with fire below mountain.

Considering this unfolding from 21 into 22,

From the biting through to adornment,

From pushing through something difficult into a time of beautiful change,

Can you see and acknowledge where the change has taken place,

And thus where there is more balance right now,

More than there was?

There might still be room for transformation and growth,

But nevertheless,

There has been enlightenment.

Acknowledge those places now,

And then allow yourself to outwardly express the blessings that come through after trials and tribulations.

And if you feel that you're still going through some trials and tribulations,

Then please do look out for the recording of hexagram 21 biting through.

But for now,

To hold in your heart the message that you've received from today's transmission.

Beauty,

Adornment,

Acknowledgement.

Breathing into that,

And then exhale as you let that go.

And we will close with words from the I Ching.

Grace and elegance are worthy of attainment.

This hexagram is about the value of beauty and harmony,

And those who create and admire these qualities.

It also refers to the impression we make on others,

And how this accords with our view of ourselves.
