I'd like to take you through a quick brain recharge practice.
So go ahead and close your eyes and get into a comfortable position and just gently start to bring your attention to your breath,
Noticing how it feels as you breathe in and out,
Naturally and comfortably.
And don't try to force any deep breathing,
Just allow yourself to settle into the space that you're in.
Notice how it feels as your chest expands and contracts.
And with each exhale,
Just allowing gravity to pull your body down towards the chair that you're sitting in or the floor that you're sitting on,
Letting go of any tension that you might be holding in your neck or back or shoulders.
Just keep your attention on the gentle rhythm of your breath as it rises and falls.
And if at any point your mind starts to wander,
Just know that that's natural,
You can notice it and let it go.
And with the next breath,
Just bringing your attention back to your breathing.
Breathing in and out and letting go.
And in this next step,
I want you to gently bring your attention to a positive feeling.
And one of the easiest ways to do this is to just think about someone or something that you feel grateful for.
And as you stay connected to your breath,
Just start to notice if there's any physical changes in your body as you start to experience gratitude or appreciation.
Try to really visualize this person or opportunity that you feel grateful for.
As you stay connected to your breath,
You may notice a little bit of tingling or a warm feeling in your body.
And again,
If your mind starts to wander,
Just know that that's natural.
Gently bring your attention back to your breath and then back to feeling gratitude and appreciation.
As we settle into this space for just a few more moments.
And now in our third and final step of the practice,
I want you to think about the energy that you have when you feel like you're at your best.
In those moments where you feel like you're showing up as your best self,
What is a word or phrase that describes that type of energy?
And just gently start to shift in your feeling,
In your focus.
Showing up in that state right now,
What would it look like?
What would it feel like to be at your best self?
And just like training muscles in the gym,
You're training your brain to show up with this best self energy.
Maybe it's passionate or connected or grounded.
Whatever word or phrase feels right to you in this moment,
I want you to just hold on to that as you allow your body and your mind to settle in for just a few more moments.
And now imagine the impact that you will have as you show up as your best self for just the next hour,
The next few hours or the day ahead.
As we get ready to open our eyes and close the practice,
I want you to just feel a moment of appreciation for yourself,
For taking the time to do the practice and knowing that each time you do,
You're making an investment in the people and things that matter most to you.
And when you feel ready,
You can go ahead and open your eyes and slowly adjust back to the space that you're in,
Knowing that you now have the opportunity to bring your best energy to the time that you have.
